The best meat kappo in history! A restaurant with a satisfying menu structure from start to finish, where you are guaranteed to be satisfied. I have been to various meat restaurants, but this one is the best in my opinion. The restaurant has a Kyoto-like atmosphere, renovated from a traditional Kyoto townhouse. From the entrance to the entrance hall, the long cobblestone path is exciting. The first floor has counter seats where you can enjoy the garden view, and the second floor has table seats in completely private rooms. There are four dinner courses available, priced at 9,900 yen, 12,650 yen, 17,600 yen, and 24,200 yen, with an anniversary course also available. There is also a lunch menu available only on weekends and holidays. I tried the following course this time:
- Nikutei Course 24,200 yen
- Appetizer: Omi beef and sea urchin tartare
- Assorted sashimi: 9 kinds
- Soup: Wagyu beef tail chawanmushi
- Specialty: Nikutei steak sandwich
- Sushi: Omi beef chateaubriand with botan shrimp and salmon roe
- Tempura: Omi beef loin and conger eel
- Sorbet: Miyazaki mango and fertility mango sake granita
- Grilled dish: Omi beef chateaubriand
- Rice dish: Omi beef rare steak and conger eel clay pot rice
- Dessert: Satonishiki cherries and Nikutei pudding
Every dish was delicious, and considering the quality of the meat and ingredients used, the price is justifiable. In fact, I found it to be cost-effective. I highly recommend this restaurant, so be sure to check it out!

It was my first time trying a meat kaiseki course meal ^ ^ It was very filling. Along with the Japanese dishes, sushi was also served, making it an enjoyable experience. The fresh shichimi spice was delicious, I ended up asking for seconds haha. The curry bread I took home was also delicious when I had it the next day. You can choose your favorite cuts of meat and they are carefully grilled over charcoal. The creamy and rich brulee was also delicious and I left feeling very full haha.

I made a reservation so I was guided to my table right away. The private room had a nice atmosphere and I was able to relax. I had already chosen my menu when making the reservation, so the dishes were served smoothly after a final confirmation. There were many types of condiments available and the food was delicious.

I made a mistake and went to the wrong restaurant in Pontocho instead of the Gion branch for my reservation. The staff at the restaurant contacted the Gion branch and allowed me to enter, even though I was late for my reservation. They provided me with delicious food! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, with a clean counter and interior, and the staff were very polite. I ordered the Akami Hitsumabushi set, which was very delicious and satisfying. It was a wonderful restaurant that I would love to visit again.

I had a not too extravagant Omi beef shabu-shabu course. Everything I ate was delicious, and the staff's service was very good. If I had to say something, there was too much ice in the drinks, making it hard to drink. But the homemade sour was very delicious and easy to drink!

During my trip to Kyoto, I visited this restaurant. It was almost fully booked with reservations due to the weekend and holidays. I ordered the lean meat hitumabushi, which was delicious on its own or as ochazuke. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was fantastic. There is a counter on the first floor and tables on the second floor, making it a great place for a date. Families with children may find it easier to visit on the second floor. I thought it was convenient and easy to visit, so I will definitely come back in the future.

On Thursday at 6:30 pm, I made a reservation. Around 7:00 pm, many customers started to arrive. After passing through a long entrance typical of Kyoto, I arrived at a serene space called THE KYOTO, renovated from a townhouse that is over 100 years old. It was irresistible. I was seated at the counter farthest back, where I could enjoy the beautiful view of the garden outside. Additionally, it was raining that day, which added to the charm as I watched the rain create ripples on the water surface.

The slightly shy chef explained the dishes while preparing them in front of us, which was enjoyable. It might be fun to try imagining the dishes without looking at the menu. The Yukke was particularly enjoyable. It was served in a small dish with various ingredients and seasonings, allowing you to customize it with salt, sauce, and your own preferences. I, being frugal, saved the salt for last and tried all the other seasonings together at the end, and it was incredibly delicious! The Wagyu tail chawanmushi with crunchy Kujou negi was a delightful touch. The steak sandwich, generously dipped in homemade tartar sauce, was the best sandwich I've ever had... it was so delicious and satisfying! The Omi beef and ikura sushi roll covered with Shari was unbelievably good. The palate cleanser, a sherbet, was a nice touch before moving on to the next dish. The charcoal-grilled Omi beef was cut and beautifully presented after being slowly cooked over charcoal. It was absolutely delicious, especially with the exquisite black pepper. The Kyoto rice wholesaler's rice was cooked in an earthen pot and then you could choose additional toppings as an option. Although there was an extra charge, it was worth it for the ultimate indulgence! I ordered the most expensive egg and truffle as toppings (I think the egg was ¥1500 each... amazing). Mixing them into the rice with meat and eating it was pure happiness... oh my... The dessert was also outstanding... They serve lunch on weekends as well, and the second floor seems to have private rooms. This restaurant is definitely a must-visit for dates or special occasions!

Visited this place for the nth time! Such a stylish and trendy shop in Gion, very Kyoto-like. Perfect for travelers! The shop is spacious and has a calming atmosphere. Ordered the rare cut meat hitsumabushi again, and it was delicious as always. Whether eaten as is or as hitsumabushi, it's just so tasty. Highly recommend this shop!

I went to a very charming and lovely restaurant that renovated a townhouse over 100 years old tucked away in the alleys of Gion, Kyoto. I heard they serve delicious Omi beef, so I decided to visit. The first time I tried to go during lunch, it was full and I had to give up, so I made a reservation for the most popular course for dinner as a revenge. I reserved a seat at the private counter on the second floor. It was a semi-private room with a view of the courtyard, creating a very calming space.
The Gion course started with a starter of Omi beef and grilled eggplant, followed by the famous Nikutei Yukke. This Yukke can be eaten with various seasonings, making it a luxurious experience. The soup dish consisted of Omi beef, tofu, and a truffle-scented Omi beef minced cutlet. You dip the juicy minced cutlet in a special tartar sauce with pickled vegetables. There was also a pouch sushi with Omi beef and local octopus, and the main dish was charcoal-grilled Omi beef. You can choose your favorite cut. The rice was cooked in a clay pot using the rice from the 8th generation Gihei's rice. The meal ended with a delicious egg over rice dessert. Overall, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.

Located down a narrow alley off the main street of Gion, with a luxurious noren curtain as a sign. I ordered the premium Omi beef hitsumabushi set meal, which includes a rare cut of meat. The beef was very tender and delicious, with a perfect balance of lean meat and fat. First, you eat it as it is, then you can add condiments to your liking, and finally pour tuna broth over it. Personally, I enjoyed the combination of seaweed and wasabi.

This is a yakiniku restaurant in Gion. I used it for dinner and had the Yasaka course. The course included:
Appetizer: Meat sashimi with Omi beef thigh meat and misuji kelp marinated
Soup: Omi beef rare cut and mugwort tofu soup
Specialty: Truffle-scented Omi beef menchi katsu with homemade onsen tamago tartar
Sushi: Omi beef chirashi wrapped in a pouch
Grilled dish: Shiga Prefecture Omi beef charcoal grilled
Rice dish: Kyoto local egg "Dosue" egg over rice, red miso soup, pickles
Dessert: Champagne strawberry daifuku
The soup had a refreshing yuzu aroma with a strong meat flavor infused in the broth. The mugwort tofu had a unique chewy texture. The menchi katsu was delicious on its own but could also be enjoyed with truffle salt, shibazuke, and iburigakko tartar for flavor variation. The chirashi sushi in a cute pouch was a bite-sized spring-like dish. You could choose between lamp and ichibo for the grilled dish, and you could also enjoy mixing the meringue-like white egg with rice and toppings like yolk, negi, and beef sprinkle. The rice was made with Yagyu's rice. The egg over rice could be upgraded to a 1500 yen egg or topped with uni or caviar. The normal egg had a rich orange yolk and was quite flavorful on its own. The rice was served immediately after cooking, giving it a porridge-like texture that was interesting to try. The second floor had private rooms where you could dine without being disturbed. Despite the initially dark room, the lighting was well done to make the dishes look beautiful. The building was designed like an eel's sleeping place, and even the stone paving leading to the entrance had a Kyoto-like atmosphere.

Omi beef lean meat hitsumabushi ¥2420
It was nice to see the lean meat being grilled on the net at the counter. Since it is lean meat, it is refreshing, but it is delicious because the meat chunks are repeatedly dipped in sauce and grilled, so the flavor is well seasoned.

I made a reservation for lunch and visited the restaurant. Today's highlight was the grilled beef hitsumabushi. The live cooking in front of me created a special atmosphere. The meat was tender and had a unique flavor. I enjoyed eating it with various condiments and a broth for a tea rice bowl style. The furikake from Kinmatsuume had a strong flavor, which I felt was a bit overpowering. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and the taste of the food.

The exterior and interior of the shop are calm and spacious. It is perfect for business entertainment. The location in Gion is also good. The quality of the meat is good, and the Ichibo steak was very delicious. The Tamago Kake Gohan (raw egg over rice) at the end was also delicious, with meringue-like egg whites mixed in, adding a wonderful touch. It was delicious!

The atmosphere of the surrounding shops makes you feel the essence of Gion, and the actual restaurant is also lovely with a charming entrance curtain and narrow pathway. The dishes were all explained in detail and beautifully presented, delicate, elegant, and refined. There were various options for grilled meat dishes to choose from, making the dining experience enjoyable. The prices were as expected, so it's a place where you would want to bring only special people.

I went with my middle school daughter. The limited Yukke bowl was very delicious. I wish the broth had a stronger flavor. It was overshadowed by the sauce's grilled meat flavor. The additional sea urchin was only half of what was shown in the picture. It felt a bit deceiving, but the delicious Yukke made up for it. Both of us were very satisfied with the retro atmosphere of the restaurant and the unfriendly vibe of the chef.

The small private rooms have floor heaters and air conditioning. The meat was delicious, and the male staff at the checkout was very friendly and wonderful. The only thing to mention is that the topping of green onions was a bit dried out.

The staff explained each dish in English, and it was cute to see them happily jumping when trying to remember a word. The food was delicious, especially the raw beef and green onion appetizer which was a perfect match. The rice cooked in a pot was also tasty, with a slightly crispy bottom part included!

This was my first visit to Nikutei Shin in Gion, Kyoto! My friend made a reservation for us. I don't know the name of the course, so I'll just post the photos. The first photo is the final dish of the course, where you can choose the ingredients from the box and have them served in a bowl. I chose egg yolk and sea urchin. The egg was a very expensive and rare egg that was difficult to crack even with chopsticks. The combination of egg and sea urchin in a bowl was absolutely delicious. The meat was, of course, delicious, but every other dish was also incredibly tasty and exquisite. I heard that their lunch is also famous, so I would like to visit again for lunch next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Entering the shop through a back alley that raises expectations. Reserved a lunch for two the day before, and without even asking, we were given a private room which got us excited! The condiments for the yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) also got us excited! The rice cooked in an earthen pot is made by the eighth generation Gihei-san, who takes great care with it! And the finishing touch is the Omi beef, with various suggestions for flavor changes that are of course delicious, but eating it as is is the best!
