On this day, I decided to visit the "Yakitori Kissaten Daimyo Hete" in Fukuoka.
◇Exterior and Interior
This yakitori restaurant is located in the Daimyo area of Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It is the third branch of the relatively well-known "Hete" in Fukuoka. It is located on the ground floor of a commercial building facing the main street in Daimyo. The interior of the restaurant is lively and bustling, with background music playing. It is a small space but full of energy, suitable for daytime drinking as well as evening enjoyment.
◇Seating
There are 6 counter seats, 3 tables for 4 people, and a private room with a round table at the back. There is also outdoor terrace seating available.
◇Menu
Only regular menu available, with special recommendations displayed on paper. The regular menu mainly consists of yakitori, horse sashimi, sesame mackerel, local specialties, fried dishes, side dishes, and quick order items. Noteworthy is the all-you-can-drink option for 1,100 yen per hour starting from daytime!
The items I ordered were:
- Mackerel with coriander namero (500 yen)
The mackerel namero with coriander was a unique dish that turned out to be surprisingly delicious. The freshness of the mackerel was excellent, and the miso flavor was strong, complementing the coriander well. It was well thought out and executed, although I would have preferred the coriander to be chopped a bit more. Overall, it was a satisfying dish.
◆Strong Points
Enjoying delicious yakitori during the daytime.
◆Service
Average.
◆Summary
This was the second stop on my Fukuoka food crawl. Despite some hiccups at the first stop, I managed to enjoy my time at this restaurant. The concept of an all-you-can-drink option during the daytime is quite innovative. The yakitori was above average, with the chicken tenderloin being a standout. The pricing was reasonable, and overall, it was a good dining experience. I was surprised to find a branch of the same restaurant so close by, but it seems like they are conquering the Daimyo area. Next time, I will try the restaurant across the street. Thank you for the meal.
