In Hokkaido, you can now enjoy delicious tuna. I love delicious tuna. The Honmaguro Sanmai set meal includes chutoro and medium fatty tuna, both delicious. They raise their own tuna, so it's really fresh. They also have a relationship with a sake brewery in Chiba, so you can try some unique sake not found in Hokkaido. They also have a variety of horse dishes. The restaurant has many private rooms and a great atmosphere. They mentioned that they are open all day when I visited. The eel and tuna were both delicious and reasonably priced. It was amazing. Thank you for the meal.

We made a same-day reservation and were seated in a private room for 2 people. We ordered all-you-can-drink and had 3 glasses of Asahi Super Dry beer, as well as 2 glasses of Marutani sake. For food, we had edamame, assorted sashimi, homemade Zangi (fried chicken), homemade grilled hokke fish, and fresh oysters from Akkeshi. It was a great place to drink with colleagues.

I ordered a tuna bowl, but there were no side dishes to justify the price, so I couldn't finish the white rice with just a small amount of tuna. The tuna was delicious. I didn't feel like eating it again, but I thought it would be nice to have some rice accompaniments like roasted seaweed or green onion miso.

It's a seafood izakaya lunch. I ordered a sashimi set and added fresh oysters from Akkeshi. It cost 1500 yen and I got change back. The sashimi was fresh and the sweet oysters were delicious. The rice was also tasty. I heard that Hokkaido rice is good, and it really complemented the sashimi well. I wanted to have seconds because it was so delicious.

I went on a business trip and while Nagoya was 26 degrees, Sapporo was only 7 degrees and extremely cold. I had to skip Susukino and searched for a place near my hotel. I found a restaurant just a 3-minute walk away. Even though my stay was short, I enjoyed a delicious meal focusing on local ingredients. The sashimi platter included Houbou fish and Benizwai crab legs as a bonus. I also tried live oysters from Akkeshi, asparagus tempura, salted firefly squid, fried octopus, premium sweet potato croquettes, and pork skewers. Everything was delicious and top-notch. For drinks, I had Sapporo Classic beer and 4 shochu highballs with a side of cut lemon. I felt like the amount of food and drinks was a bit much for one person in just an hour, but the bill came out to be quite reasonable at just over 8,000 yen. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied.

From today, it's May. It's my personal day off, so I woke up a bit late... but even when I woke up at 6 am, I felt strangely hungry. I knew I wouldn't last until lunchtime, so I went to a restaurant near Kita 24-jo Station and had the W Egg Sausage set with extra rice, just like last Friday, at 9 am. I'll have a late lunch in town later. I also need to buy something at Yodobashi. I arrived in front of the restaurant around 1:30 pm. Lunchtime is until 2 pm, and at night, it's an izakaya. When I entered the restaurant, the staff prompted me to disinfect my hands with alcohol before seating me at a long counter seat where shoes were not allowed. There were also table seats and small raised private rooms in the restaurant, but it seems like only the table seats allow shoes. The counter seat was a bit uncomfortable to sit in. Looking at the menu, there were curry, hamburger, and fried dishes... but I wasn't in the mood for fried chicken. Grilled fish would be nice, but I decided on the top lunch menu, "Assorted sashimi set for 1,100 yen." In these situations, I always go for the top menu. While waiting, I looked at the other menu items, which were mostly izakaya dishes, and noticed the prices of sake... from cheap at 549 yen for 5 go to expensive at 823 yen. A full serving would cost 1,646 yen... maybe a pure rice Daiginjo from Tatenokawa? In about 10 minutes, the sashimi set arrived on a tray. The assorted sashimi included tuna, fatty salmon, and marinated mackerel, among others. I couldn't identify the rest since I'm not familiar with fish types. There was also lettuce with Japanese dressing, seaweed miso soup, and oddly, shredded pickled radish with rice. I looked for the soy sauce dish but couldn't find it. Maybe it was placed next to the soy sauce from the beginning? Perhaps it had been left there since the restaurant opened at 11:30 am? I wiped it with a wet towel before using it. Well, everything tasted delicious, right? Marinated mackerel is a favorite among Hokkaido locals. I noticed on my way out that rice refills were free. I didn't see any signs around the counter, though. Thank you for the meal.

I visited in search of a valuable weekday lunch break (*'ω'*)* I had the sashimi assortment lunch set (1100 yen) and the sashimi was fresh and delicious! However, given the restaurant's name, I was expecting the rice to be exceptional, but the rice served at lunch didn't seem to be a highlight. It's a matter of personal preference, but I like my rice to be a bit firmer. I had no intention of ordering the "una-tama don" that I often see on social media, but I was curious to see it, and luckily the person next to me ordered it so I got to see it in person (lol). It was tasty, but for a weekday lunch, one time might be enough. I'd like to come back at night to enjoy a hot pot dish with sake (*'ω'*)

We had some business to attend to at Sapporo Station and visited as a couple. It's the first day of the May holidays ❤️ It was our first visit. It was a nice situation where we didn't drink heavily. After all, we visited at 4:30 pm on a Saturday when the store opens at 4 pm. It was still bright outside and felt great ☀️ The menu is extensive and well-rounded, but it seems that seafood dishes are the specialty. They seem to have a focus on rice ❤️ I would have been happy to see onigiri on the menu. There is no all-you-can-drink option, which might actually be a good thing. If there was, we might end up drinking too much. As a couple, I think it's more meaningful to enjoy good drinks and quality time together at this age. The restaurant doesn't face the main road, but it seems like a spacious place suitable for parties or for just a couple. We'll definitely come back ❗

It was very delicious. The crab was cheap and tasty, so I made another reservation right after visiting that day. The crab was so delicious that I don't have much memory of anything else... ( ˘ω˘ ) I saw eel bowl on YouTube and wanted to try it, but it seemed like a lot so I gave up. I would like to try it next time.

I felt nervous in a grown-up way, but the amount of food was large and maybe because it was a counter seat, I was able to talk casually with the staff and had a good time! All the rice dishes that came out were delicious ✩.*˚ I couldn't finish the Unatama-don, so they kindly made onigiri for me to take home!

A shop on the north side of Sate Exit. Seems perfect for a quick drink after work. They offer a subscription menu like a bar hopping coupon, where one item is discounted each time. It would be a great deal if you could go every day, but it's hard to do so... The food was delicious and the staff were polite. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Sapporo Station North Exit Izakaya Meshi to Junmai" on January 11th. It was my first visit. I went with 3 people at 7:00 PM with the goal of getting some carbs. I made a reservation online from the previous restaurant, and even though it was only 10 minutes before, I was able to secure a reservation (laughs). When we entered, it wasn't as crowded as I thought. Since it had private rooms, I couldn't tell how many customers were inside, but I think there was only one group in the neighboring private room. Our main purpose was to have unadon and horse sashimi, so we opted for the all-you-can-drink plum wine for 1848 yen each, totaling 5544 yen. Beer wasn't a must, so we went with plum wine. We ordered using a QR code on our smartphones. The main dish we wanted, unagi and tamago don for 2728 yen, was still available, but limited to 10 servings. I wonder if they always have stock unless it's something special? The lunch menu stated 1980 yen (excluding tax), so I'm not sure if they raised the price. Unfortunately, all the horse meat dishes we wanted were out of stock. We were looking forward to trying raw horse meat dishes, so it was quite disappointing. We also ordered: appetizer for 1317 yen, miso mayo cucumber for 439 yen, tartar kaki fry for 879 yen, Hanabatake Farm Catalana for 528 yen, and homemade zangi for 439 yen. Wait, is the all-you-can-drink limited to two items per person? Did we miss ordering one more item? Did they offer us a service? As of January 21st, the official website still shows the unagi and tamago don for 2178 yen. There's quite a price difference, so I hope they update the price soon. The menu in the restaurant states that the dish has a volume of 750g of rice. It seems to be frozen eel, but it comes with a whole eel. It's reasonable considering that a vacuum-packed Chinese eel at the supermarket costs around 2000 yen. The tamagoyaki is also a good size. It seems manageable if shared among three people. It might be a bit challenging to finish it alone (laughs). I tried the shochu with dashi for 549 yen from the all-you-can-drink menu, and I quite liked it. It was one of the last things we had, but it was rich in flavor. If there's a next time, I'd like to make it my main choice. Thank you for the meal.

(Visit on September 16, 2022) I used the occasion of my former boss's retirement to finally have the celebration that had been postponed. This time, we had a course meal with eel. I regretted not trying the sashimi that I saw in a review last time, but this time it was available, and it was delicious. The tuna was mostly medium fatty tuna, the salmon was tasty, and the perfectly finished mackerel was exquisite. The sausages and roast beef were perfect with beer and wine, and the yellowtail teriyaki was a great combination of Japanese and Western flavors. The steamed oysters and pork sauté were also excellent! And finally, the eel. Served with the rice at the end, the highlight of the course was this "rice." Each grain was firm, sweet, and incredibly delicious. I would love to have this course meal again. This restaurant is a recent favorite of mine! Thank you for the wonderful meal. (^o^)

Let's have a light drink at a slightly late hour, and I arrived at Sapporo Station North Exit Izakaya "Meshi to Junmai". I had already eaten before meeting, so I thought sake would be a good choice. The service was friendly, but there was a mix of good and bad points that left me feeling uncertain. The tuna was delicious! The appearance of the marinated tuna wasn't great, but the taste was decent. It seemed like the freshness had deteriorated a bit, but the flavor of the bluefin tuna was still there. Both the lean and medium fatty tuna had a delicious taste, but my eyes were drawn to the unappealing appearance of the marinated tuna. The scallop ear changja, made from scallop ears, was a new experience for me. It had a similar taste and texture to cod changja, and the combination of chewiness and spiciness was enjoyable. The tempura asparagus and bamboo shoots were fried crispy and had a nice texture. The pork minced meat skewer was decently prepared. Overall, the restaurant felt on par with typical izakaya chain restaurants, not standing out significantly. I had requested a discount coupon when entering, but it seemed to have been forgotten. Although the presentation was better than the tuna's appearance, I had mixed feelings about the service and sashimi. I am intrigued by the lunch menu, so I plan to come back again to reassess.

After work, I made a quick stop in the Satsueki area. The restaurant seemed to have a good reputation for lunch. Three of us visited, and it was my first time there! We ordered the 120-minute all-you-can-drink option (including draft beer and lemon sour) for 2,035 yen. We also ordered the following dishes: assorted tuna sashimi, rolled omelette with dashi, smoked seafood salad, squid with roe, and fried tofu and vegetables in dashi. We started with a cold beer and cheers! We wore masks during conversation, which we are getting used to. We then switched to shochu. The dishes were delicious, especially the sashimi. The smoked seafood salad was a great combination of crunchy vegetables and smoked fish. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the fried tofu and vegetables. I lost count of how much shochu I drank, and my stomach was full. It was a great find in the Satsueki area, and I look forward to trying their rice dishes next time. Thank you for the meal!

On April 15, 2022, what I can do now is to support food and beverage establishments while being very careful. I came with the feeling of "Let's go all out!" Today, I opened my schedule for the first time in a long time and went shopping outside my usual area. I checked on Jalan and visited "Meshi to Junmai" for the first time (^-^)/ They offer takeout. The location is near Sapporo Station North Exit, next to For Days Salon. The exterior has a moss green wall and a triangular roof. Inside, it is spacious with seating at the counter along the wall and a raised seating area, totaling 68 seats. It was 11:45 am. I ordered the Unagi Tama Don for 2,178 yen (tax included) and the Hon Maguro Sashimi for 550 yen (tax included). In about 10 minutes, the large Unagi Tama Don arrived, with a whole dashimaki tamago under the oversized eel (laughs). The egg was thick and fluffy, probably from China, and the rice was truly delicious. It can be shared, and they can even make onigiri with the leftovers. Despite being busy, the service was polite and very good. I will definitely come back to "Meshi to Junmai" again. Thank you for the meal. I went to this restaurant alone and sat at the counter. Due to the situation with COVID-19, I felt hesitant to drink, but I decided to visit this place that I had been curious about. The prices were reasonable, and the seasonal dishes were delicious. Next time, I want to try various types of sake!

Finally, I went to try the huge Uni Tamadon (sea urchin bowl)! I was captivated by the Uni Don after seeing the reviews from other customers, so I had high expectations! However, the portion was too much for dinner, so I decided to go for lunch. There is a coin parking lot across the street from the restaurant. I was also curious about the other lunch menu items, but my main goal for the day was the Uni Tamadon. Of course, I planned to have more than half of it as rice balls. I ordered the Uni Tamadon for 1980 yen. And voila! A huge omelette similar to Oyakodon or Gyudon, with a big piece of eel on top. Just as seen in the pictures. The meal includes 750g of rice, a serving of rolled omelette, and one piece of eel. I wondered how to eat it. I started by eating it like an Unaju (eel rice bowl). The rolled omelette had a light dashi flavor with a hint of salt. The eel was thick and juicy, but it seemed like it was only steamed. The sauce was thick and savory. At one point, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of food. So, I decided to order the Horse Tendon Curry for 300 yen, which comes with rice. It would have been more cost-effective to just order the Horse Tendon Curry itself. The meat was tender and stewed. I had it with the rice from the Uni Tamadon. The curry sauce had a slightly strong salty taste. I left half of the eel and omelette and asked for them to be made into rice balls. I got five rice balls! The Uni Tamadon was worth trying. I hope the staff member who came from outside the area is doing well. Thank you for the meal.

Located at the north exit of Sapporo Station, this restaurant is popular among office workers during lunchtime. The evening izakaya menu is also attractive, but the lunch options are both delicious and reasonably priced! The extra-large size of the unagi-don is impressive. From Sapporo Station North Exit, it's just a few minutes' walk away. This area is close to Hokkaido University and Sapporo Station, so there are many dining options around. I came here before for uni-don at lunchtime and for izakaya at night, and the food was delicious and the service was excellent. This time, I came for eel! The restaurant was constantly busy with customers, but since private rooms are the main seating option, you can relax without worrying about your surroundings. The lunch menu is regularly updated, with many options priced under 1000 yen and all looking delicious! Of course, the evening menu also offers a wide selection of sake and dishes that go well with alcohol. I would love to come back at night once the situation with COVID-19 settles down. The eel bowl I came for had an impressive volume! There is 750g of rice (lol) that you can adjust to your liking. It's recommended to share it between two people! On top of plenty of rice, there's dashimaki tamago and a big piece of eel (lol). The dashimaki tamago is a firm type (*´ᵕ`). I love eel, so I was thrilled! The eel was plump and tender, and the sweet sauce made the rice go down smoothly! There's probably nowhere else where you can eat at this price and volume. I managed to eat half of it, but then gave up;( ˙꒳​˙ ;): They kindly made the rest into onigiri. The combination of egg and eel was so delicious! The tuna we ordered was also amazingly melt-in-your-mouth! It seemed like they purchased a whole piece just for us, which is much appreciated at this price. We also enjoyed warm tea, and left feeling completely satisfied! My stomach felt like it was going to burst (˃ ˂) Thank you for the delicious meal! ♡

Visited on February 1, 2022♪ I found a picture of this eel and egg rice bowl on Instagram. Looks delicious, doesn't it! From the overflowing eel, it looks like a small rice bowl with eel on top, maybe around 1,000 yen? But when I actually went there... it was 1,980 yen (excluding tax)... (゚∀゚;) Well, it makes sense since it's topped with a whole eel (^^ゞ Looking at the menu, it seems like there's 750g of rice, but surely it's not really 750g, right♪ It must be a 7 that looks like a 1 w I was surprised by the size of the bowl when it arrived!! It wasn't a 1, it was a 7!!! A super jumbo eel and egg rice bowl with over 750g of rice♪ And a nearly full-size rolled omelette♪ Plus a huge eel that's about 30cm long on top. They really made an unbelievable bowl♪ I managed to finish it, but I think most people would have leftovers. They can make the leftovers into rice balls for you to take home, so it's all good. I think a woman could probably eat half of it? But with this volume, the price of 1,980 yen (excluding tax) is ridiculously cheap, but trying to finish it all may make you feel uncomfortable and take away the deliciousness. So it might be best to eat just enough and take the rest home. It would also be good to order other menu items and share with a group of people♪ Is there anyone who can enjoy it all by themselves until the end? Maybe I should invite Black Cat Man? ( *´艸`)

Lunchtime in February 2022! We all gathered without knowing what to eat. Oh, long time no see! We all ordered the special limited vinegar eel and egg rice bowl. But we mistakenly read the menu and also ordered the tuna trio set. After a little wait, the table was set with the food. We double-checked the menu and saw that the rice was supposed to be 750g, but only 150g was served. We also ordered a serving of rolled omelet and a whole eel. The leftover rice was made into rice balls. It was a huge portion and we laughed. Now, let's eat! The eel was served on a separate plate, and the rolled omelet had a strong dashi flavor. We enjoyed the meal, savoring the eel with the sauce and struggling with the rice. The miso soup was delicious too. The eel was soft and tasty, and we couldn't stop laughing at the size of the tuna trio set. The tuna sashimi, tuna belly, salad, and fish in vinegar were all delicious. We were glad we ordered the set. Finally, we had to give up on finishing the vinegar eel and egg rice bowl, so we had them make rice balls for us. It was a fun and enjoyable lunch.
