The yakitori and side dishes were all delicious. The rice was so good that I ended up drinking too much. I brought a bottle of shochu, but we managed to finish it all. The restaurant, where you cannot see inside, made me enter cautiously. The counter and raised seating style, along with the friendly staff, made me feel like it might be a good place. They serve chicken sashimi, which seems fresh (they mention it is freshly picked in the morning) on the menu. I ordered chicken liver sashimi and red chicken tataki, both of which were excellent. The yakitori was also amazing, with each skewer being carefully grilled by the chef. There are other menu items that I am curious about, so I will definitely go back!

I made a reservation by phone for my first visit. When I entered the restaurant, I sanitized my hands and was guided to a private room for two on the right side. Although it is a yakitori restaurant, they have a wide variety of menu items other than yakitori, so it's great for those who want to try different dishes. It's been a while since my last visit. It's been about six months... As expected, the shochu bottles have been replaced. This time, I had two roses for 250 yen each, shiitake mushrooms for 160 yen, salt-stirred seseri for 580 yen, spicy hormone miso stir-fry for 690 yen, mentaiko wiener for 60 yen, enoki pork rolls for 200 yen, and chicken salt ramen for 500 yen. All prices were before tax. I definitely ate too much! When dining alone, I tend to order more than I can eat... I had highballs and shochu with water for drinks. Thank you for the meal!

In Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, there is a competitive area filled with bars, and I decided to visit a place called "Shimajiro" on this particular day. I had been keeping an eye on this place because they offer different drinks at discounted prices as part of their "August Drinks" promotion. On August 8th, they were offering shochu (glass) for 200 yen (usually half price). As I entered the shop, I noticed a customer getting their takeout order grilled. I sat at the counter and ordered a "Lemon Chu-hi". The appetizer that came out was simmered hijiki seaweed. Since it's a yakitori restaurant, I started with some skewers: Pork belly for 250 yen, Soft bone meatball for 160 yen, and Chicken wings for 200 yen. I also ordered my favorite, Zuri sashimi for 580 yen. I enjoyed the complimentary shochu drinks as well, finishing three glasses in total. The staff at this place were very quiet and reserved, hardly speaking unless taking orders. It may be a bit tough for solo diners as some warmth in service would be appreciated. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The background music playing that day included songs by popular J-POP artists like Mr. Children, Koda Kumi, Ayumi Hamasaki, D-51, and BoA.
