Last night was my wife's birthday, so we went to the French restaurant Anieledor in Awaza. I opted for the wine pairing. The menu listed trendy ingredients such as octopus, beans, and wasabi in two different dishes. The tart had flavors of beans and octopus, while the plate had flavors of wasabi and octopus. The champagne served at the beginning was a nice touch. The next course featured clams, perilla leaves, and taro in two dishes. The dishes were creatively presented, making it a fun surprise to discover what was in each spoonful. The pairing of a dry wine complemented the flavors well. The following course included sea bream, white asparagus, and paprika. The sea bream and its roe atop white asparagus were rich in flavor, accompanied by a slightly smoked sauce. The pairing of a dry white wine worked well. The eel dish with cucumber, chives, and seaweed was exceptionally tasty. The eel was tender, and the dish paired nicely with a red wine. The course with wagyu beef, bamboo shoots, tofu skin, and pickled shallots resembled a hamburger but had a refined taste. The somen noodles with prawns, herbs, and coconut were a unique combination, with fresh flavors and a hint of coconut. The dish paired well with white wine. The dish with fresh fish, squid, apios, and mitsuba featured rare fish cooked at a low temperature. The flavors of the ingredients were distinct, and the dish was delicious. The duck dish with asparagus was a straightforward yet flavorful dish, with perfectly cooked duck and a peppery accompaniment. The dessert course included tomato, celery, and white chocolate, which surprisingly worked well together. The blueberry, cheese, and lavender dessert was not only visually appealing but also delicious. The meal ended with pistachio dacquoise and citrus tart served with coffee. Overall, the experience was satisfying, with a good balance of flavors and a visually stunning presentation. The wine pairing was also enjoyable. The most surprising part was how easy it was to make a reservation at such a high-quality restaurant. The total cost for two people was around 50,000 yen, which felt reasonable considering the quality of the meal. I was very satisfied with the restaurant.
