【October 7, 2021】I'm on a business trip in Obihiro. I came to eat Indian curry. The last time I had it was about 15 years ago. I think it was when I participated in a 12-hour endurance mamachari race in Sorachi Village with my university seminar members. I feel the passage of time. I ordered Indian curry extra spicy and it arrived in about 5 minutes. It has a rich aroma. They poured hot oil over it... The curry, with the sweetness of the vegetables, is delicious as expected from Indian curry. I can see why it's so popular. The spiciness has a sharpness to it, and it builds up as you eat. Just like it says in the hot oil instructions, the flavor remained delicious until the end. Since I'll be coming to Obihiro more often in the future, I think I'll try other branches as well. After losing badly at the Ban'ei horse racing on September 11, 2023, I visited Indian Curry, the closest restaurant, with tears of regret. It is located in a small mall with a pachinko parlor and a drug store along National Route 38. This time, I had curry with chicken and cheese, all with normal flavors. I can't quite remember the taste of the curry, was it like this before? The grilled meat, either thigh or breast, was cooked with a crispy surface. Slices of cheese were placed on top before pouring the curry sauce generously. A parent and child who entered later seemed to be taking out the curry sauce. I will consider visiting again when staying in Obihiro for multiple nights. By the way, is pickled ginger a common table item for Obihiro residents? I was a little surprised.

My favorite curry restaurant in Obihiro ✨ Indian Lou in Obihiro, a soul food for Obihiro people, with cheese topping for guaranteed deliciousness! Still love it. It was quite crowded probably because of the Bon Festival, and they initially said there was a 40-minute wait, but I thought there's no way it would be true since I was alone. I lined up and got seated in about 5 minutes! The line was mostly families waiting for the booth seats, so it was quick for me as a solo diner.

I planned to have curry at Indian restaurant for dinner just before the Kagemai Fireworks Festival, but there was a long line overflowing from the restaurant. I didn't see anyone getting irritated, so maybe it's a common sight? There were also quite a few people getting takeout. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was seated and the curry arrived in about 15 minutes. Even though it was medium spicy, I still broke a sweat, so it was just right in terms of flavor. I felt like I could keep eating it forever. Thank you for the meal.

When I remember it, I crave the popular curry restaurant in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, Indian Curry. I wish there was one in Tokyo too. I ordered the Indian Roux with shrimp topping, and even though the portion was huge, it was delicious and I managed to finish it all. The prices are cheap and the food is tasty. If you visit Hokkaido, especially Obihiro City, there is one near Obihiro Station, so please make sure to check it out.

On 23/08/06, I had dinner alone while on a business trip and tried the "Indian Cutlet (spicy) for 814 yen". It was a usual gloomy Sunday evening. I also successfully prepared Mapo Tofu to eat in the coming days. My overtime preparations are perfect (tears). If I work four days this week, I can go back to Asahikawa! Even thinking about that, my heart feels blue. Worries about work keep crossing my mind one after another. But... my stomach still gets hungry even at times like this ^^; Last weekend, this place was so crowded that I couldn't even get in. Today, I managed to slide into the last seat available. I sat next to the serving area. Despite feeling unsettled, I savored the curry as usual. For some reason, I even feel a sense of relief. Perhaps all the people in Obihiro feel the same way. This curry here is my anchor in my life as a business traveler. Please continue to be there for me in the future.

When I come to Obihiro, I usually have pork bowl for lunch, but this time I went to Indian Curry for the second time because my friend is a big fan. My friend recommended the pork cutlet curry - the large, freshly fried cutlet and the beefy flavor in the sauce were delicious. For some reason, this restaurant is only found in the Tokachi area. Pork bowl is good, but the curry is also quite tasty!

At the request of a customer, we had Indian cuisine for lunch after a long time! We went to the nearest Unihara store. While the customer had Indian hamburger, I tried Indian shrimp cheese with a spicy kick! The spicy sauce combined with the creamy cheese and the juicy shrimp was an irresistible combination. A true treasure from Obihiro Tokachi!

This year, I went to an Indian restaurant for the first time. I finished work early and left in the evening. It was around 5:30 pm on a weekday, so they had already sold out of vegetables. It seems like they had some until a little while ago, probably because it was a weekday. It's a shame, but takeout is also good. However, I really love eating in the restaurant with pickled ginger and other side dishes. I wonder how many times I'll be able to eat there this year.

When I feel like eating curry, the first place that comes to mind is definitely Indian. I used to think it was spelled "Indian," but I was told it's actually "Indean" (fun fact). It seems like every restaurant that offers curry as an option is trying to imitate the curry here. The curry here sets the standard for others to follow, and it's delicious as always! Interestingly, I always feel like pairing curry with cola, and Indian is one of the few places where you can get a cola for just 100 yen and still get change back. The cost performance here always makes me want to come back!

On 23/04/03, I had dinner while on a business trip, enjoying the "Indian Curry (Spicy) for 814 yen". After finishing my daughter's moving tasks, I returned to my business trip location. I arrived at my apartment in Obihiro at 15:36. I hurried to finish shopping and started cooking. I made my usual vegetable stir-fry and prepared for tomorrow's overtime. Before I knew it, it was 18:30. I was hungry. It seemed inevitable that I ended up sitting here. I had curry udon for lunch (laughs). I ordered my usual spicy Indian curry. I added some cutlets to really get into it. The thick curry made with beef and dozens of spices, along with the crispy cutlets, tasted solid. Eating it made me feel relieved for some reason. I am now a respectable citizen of Obihiro (^_^;) This curry is my sanctuary in my business trip life. I hope to continue enjoying it.

After a long time, I visited the restaurant around 7:30 PM. Next to it was a Uniqlo store, so I did some shopping there before coming in. The peak time had passed. Upon entering, I was informed that the vegetables, hamburgers, and chicken were sold out for the day. I hesitated for a moment (I was set on ordering chicken), but quickly switched to ordering Indian curry with shrimp. When you come at this time, there is a high possibility that some menu items are sold out, so it is recommended to arrive early if you want to try a specific dish. After placing my order, the food arrived in about 3 minutes. Just like in any other branch, the staff at Indian are really efficient in cooking. The curry was delicious as always. It may seem ordinary, but this flavor is something you can't get from store-bought curries. It's that thick type of curry. And there was a lot of shrimp in it. Even though I usually prefer chicken, shrimp is tasty once in a while. I finished my meal quickly. Today, there were more people getting takeout or just the curry sauce to go than those dining in. According to local rumors, people in Obihiro don't cook curry at home, which was mentioned on TV before. The locals say it's half true, haha. It was a very delicious meal! Thank you for the feast!

Seeking stability, I headed to Indian Curry for my monthly fix of their delicious curry. This was my second time at this particular restaurant. I always wonder who selects the movie posters that decorate the interior of the restaurant, as they seem to be biased towards certain decades and genres. Perhaps it's the owner's personal taste. This time, I ordered the vegetable curry with a pork cutlet topping and a cola. Even with these additions, the total came to only 1000 yen, with change returned. I can't help but worry about how they manage to maintain such low prices in this day and age. Despite my concerns, I left the restaurant feeling extremely satisfied with the value for money.

Today's visit is in Obihiro. It's still early for work, so I had vegetable curry for breakfast at Indian Shoshinoya for 480 yen. The curry at Indian Lou is more delicious! It has plenty of potatoes. The sauce has a gentle spiciness. This will give me the energy to work hard.

Indian food is something that I sometimes crave for no reason. On the way back from a trip, I was thinking about what to eat, and decided to go for Indian food. I called ahead from the car and my companion placed the order over the phone. It arrived in about 5 minutes, and I was able to pick it up right away. We ordered Indian curry for two people, which cost a little over 1000 yen. It was quite filling and satisfied our hunger.

On the last day in Obihiro in 2022, I was thinking about what to eat with my friends. We decided to go to Curry Shop Indian before getting on the highway. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the smell of the curry was amazing. I chose the shrimp basic curry, while my friends went for the pork cutlet Indian curry. It took about 10 minutes for the curry to be served. The shrimp curry was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. I really enjoyed the meal at Indian. The restaurant also had pickles, which was a nice touch. Now, it's time to head back to Sapporo!

The first time trying Indian curry at Indian Curry Roux, they offer Indian roux, basic roux, and vegetable roux, with the option to choose spiciness levels. I had the hamburger Indian roux, which was easy to eat with a good amount of rice even for the normal portion. The hamburger was cut into easy-to-eat pieces, but lacked juiciness, seemed like a pre-made product. The roux had a strong thick consistency and flavor, not as spicy as expected, should have gone for the extremely spicy option. I forgot to use hot oil, wanted to try that. The Indian roux had a familiar taste, even though I've never had it before. I also tried the seafood curry in the basic roux, which was delicious. It's amazing that you can eat this quality of curry at such a price, much cheaper than CoCo◯, which can feel expensive. Had a great experience trying the soul food of Obihiro, Indian curry. Eating to your heart's content on a gourmet trip in Hokkaido, Ton Den in Obihiro is a must-visit for their pork bowl, known as a local favorite. Unable to resist, I ended up having two lunches. Luckily, they open at 10 am, which allows for a short break in between meals. Young people start lining up before 10 am, and as soon as the doors open, the restaurant gets crowded. The kitchen is busy with hamburgers and other toppings ready to go. The regular Indian curry is ordered since there is no mini size available. The curry arrives quickly, with a decent amount of rice and thick, gooey curry sauce. It reminded me of the curry from school lunches, a nostalgic taste. The hot oil on the table adds a nice spicy kick without altering the curry's flavor. With various toppings and curry options available at this price point, it's a place worth visiting multiple times, even for non-locals. I hope similar restaurants pop up in other towns as well.

Visited on June 29, 2022, I stopped by Obihiro for work and it was early in the morning, so I was hungry, haha. They open at 10:00 in the morning, which was convenient. Despite the early hour, the people of Obihiro were enjoying curry all around. There were also many takeout orders, creating a lively atmosphere. I always wanted to come here and finally made it, but I always end up getting swayed by the pork bowl, haha. How many decades has it been since I last tried curry here... Anyway, I think there were three types of curry roux. I went for the classic Indian curry with a spicy kick and topped it with chicken. The most basic order, but that's okay, haha. The roux had a hint of sweetness, making it suitable even for children. The chicken was tender. Personally, I prefer a bit less sweetness, but it was delicious nonetheless. This time I visited after a long time. When it comes to Obihiro, it's Indian curry. I went before 12 o'clock for lunch and it was almost full. I managed to find a seat and ordered the seafood curry this time. It was brought to me after a short wait. Hmm, delicious. The taste is the best for this price.
