The day after the midsummer day for eel, a famous eel restaurant in Hakata had a long line. After giving up and returning to the hotel, another eel restaurant was found nearby! The owner was efficient and the food arrived shortly after being seated. The eel was delicious as expected! When I ordered a beer, I also got deep-fried eel bones? They were tough, unlike the tender eel meat, which surprised me.

After 7 years of solo assignment in Fukuoka, today is the last day. On my way to the airport after finishing packing, I stumbled upon this place. Attracted by its appetizing appearance and reasonable prices, I decided to have my last meal in Fukuoka at Unagi no Kikawa. The smell that stimulates the appetite, the plump eel, and the extra touch of grilling - it was amazing. If only I had known about this place earlier, I could have become a regular customer. Delicious! Generous portions! I will definitely come back!

I felt like eating eel, so I visited Unagi no Kikishikawa, which I had been wanting to try for a while. It was affordable and delicious. It's rare to find a reasonably priced eel restaurant in Fukuoka city. The interior of the restaurant was calm, and it was a good break from the hustle and bustle of the day.

Three elderly people running the business, but there was a sense of discomfort. Maybe they're not very close? They served pickled radish to the customers at the counter, but didn't offer the same service to us. The eel was good, not too sweet, and the sauce was tasty. They put a lot of sauce on it, maybe a bit too much, as it had a slightly burnt taste. The eel itself was small and not very plump. We left the restaurant feeling a bit bitter from the pickled radish and burnt taste. Maybe that's enough.

(2022.04.18) As the seasons change, I've been feeling a bit tired due to the temperature difference, and next week I have some work that I can't afford to miss... Today is the spring "Doyo Unagi Day," so I decided to visit "Unagi no Kishikawa." As I walked through the curtain, I was greeted by the fragrant smell of grilling sauce and an elderly couple... Although there were about 7 seats available at the counter, I was directed to a 4-person table with 3 tables lined up. While I usually opt for the more luxurious "unaju" (eel over rice), this time I decided to try the special "unadon" (eel bowl). The sight of a whole eel sitting in a large bowl was impressive, with just the right amount of char and gloss from the sauce. The eel, grilled over Binchotan charcoal, was said to be from Kagoshima prefecture, and I enjoyed its plump texture and savory aroma. The light and refreshing sauce complemented the dish well, and the rice was cooked slightly firm, with each grain standing out individually. The sauce, along with sansho pepper, was also provided on the table, allowing you to adjust the flavor to your liking. The side dishes, such as vinegar miso with young bamboo shoots, and a variety of pickles including tomato, yam, mustard greens, daikon, carrot, and cucumber, were all delicious.

Today is my birthday, so I decided to treat myself to a luxurious lunch at this place! Every time I passed by, I was drawn in by the delicious smell of eel, so I finally decided to check it out. It's my birthday, so it's okay to splurge a little, right? The restaurant has a counter with six seats and three tables. The menu only offers eel rice bowls, with two options priced at 2,000 yen and 3,000 yen. I usually go for the 2,000 yen option, but today I decided to go all out and get the 3,000 yen one! You can choose to have the eel served on a separate plate or on top of the rice, and I chose the latter. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the dish arrived. The eel portion was generous and the egg omelette on top was a nice touch. The eel was tender and had a good thickness to it. I wonder if they steam it beforehand and then finish it off by grilling it? The quality of the eel was impressive and definitely worth the 3,000 yen price tag. The eel was rich and delicious, and the crispy skin added a nice touch. The sauce was not too heavy and paired well with the eel. Personally, I didn't feel the need to add extra sauce as it was already delicious on its own. The egg omelette was a nice side dish with a simple salt seasoning that helped cleanse the palate. The eel liver was also included and had a firm texture with a rich flavor, no unpleasant taste at all. The bamboo shoot salad was a refreshing side dish. Overall, for 3,000 yen, this meal was really reasonable and delicious! It seemed like there were many regular customers when I visited, which is understandable considering the great food at such affordable prices. I will definitely be visiting again!

The eel restaurant near the town park by the beach. I have passed by the front of the shop a few times on my commute, and I have always been curious about the eel rice balls they sell outside. Eel is not something I often get to eat, but when I checked the menu board, it seemed quite reasonably priced. So, my husband and I decided to visit for lunch on a holiday. As we opened the door, we were greeted with a sense of calm. We ordered two servings of the eel rice bowl set (Matsu) for 2,000 yen each. The eel was crispy on the outside (which my husband loved), with a fragrant eel sauce that made the rice go down smoothly. The addition of the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) was a unique touch to this restaurant. It had a flavor that made you want more rice. The pickles in the side dish were so delicious that I wanted to ask for more. The vegetables were also very tasty. Getting eel (and side dishes) for 2,000 yen is quite reasonable. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was very cozy.

In early August, I finally visited this place after avoiding it due to the busy season. It has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, where it's hard to tell who the employees are and who the customers are. The menu is displayed outside, but the ordering process is simple and clear. Just a couple of questions like "one whole or half?" and "on top or on the side?" were enough. I ordered the Special Eel Bowl for ¥3000. The eel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I really liked the way it was grilled and the texture of the finish. The sauce was sweet, but I didn't get tired of it. The liver was quite mild. The variety of pickles also helped keep things interesting. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visited with 8 friends, which was a bit crowded with 2 tables. We were asked if we wanted the 2000 yen or 3000 yen option, and we all chose the 3000 yen option (explained that the amount of eel differed by price). Eel was steamed and then grilled over charcoal, very delicious and no fishy smell. The soup was also tasty. The tamagoyaki was average, and the pickles didn't suit my taste. Overall, very satisfied. Previously bought onigiri from the shop and they gave me an extra one as a service, which was nice. Warm and welcoming eel restaurant.

Visited after seeing various reviews. Was hesitant about having eel for lunch as it felt extravagant, but ended up going for it due to a slight delay. Upon entering, was asked if I wanted the 2000 yen or 3000 yen option, went for the cheaper one. It was my first time and I was surprised haha. The atmosphere was great! It perfectly captured the essence of a bygone era. It felt like time had stopped. The eel was delicious, but I think the experience of dining in this place was just as valuable. Thank you for the meal.

Upon entering the store, I was asked "2000 yen or 3000 yen?" with a confused expression. I wasn't sure if they were referring to the price or the dish, but I assumed it was about the standard and premium options, so I chose the 3000 yen one. Then, I was asked if I wanted it together or separated. I thought it might be about an eel bowl, so I requested it together. It turned out to be an eel bowl, a comforting dish with plump and moist eel. It wasn't amazing, but it had a calming atmosphere. I might come back again. Thank you for the meal. Oh, I want to try Kabuto-ya next time!

In late November, I visited Unagi no Kikashi Kawagawa in Maizuru with two close friends from a company I am grateful to. Although it may not be a common image to eat eel in winter, eel tends to be fattier and more flavorful during the colder months. We ordered the Unaju set for three of us at lunchtime. While waiting for it to be grilled, we chatted happily. When the Unaju arrived, it had a slightly crispy surface, but the eel was fragrant and fatty, served with soup, pickles, and vegetables. The combination of the fragrant, fatty eel with the sweet and savory sauce over rice brought a feeling of happiness. It was my first time in a while having eel, and it was incredibly delicious. We quickly finished our meal and ended our lunch. Although I don't get to go often, eel is truly delicious. I hope to visit again next year. Thank you for the wonderful meal. #Unagi no Kikashi Kawagawa #eel #Unaju #Maizuru, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka #Eel #Fukuoka gourmet #Garso #Ramen-loving Garso-san #gaso #fukuoka #gourmet

In Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, there is an eel restaurant called "Kishikawa." The restaurant is located very close to Hamanocho Park. Inside, there are about 7 counter seats and 3 tables for 4 people each. It's a small place. On this day, I had some business in the Akasaka area, so I visited for lunch on a weekday. The lunch menu seems to offer three choices: - Special eel bowl (tax included 3000 yen) - Special eel rice box (tax included 3000 yen) - Eel rice box Mats (tax included 2000 yen) I ordered the Mats eel rice box. After about 10 minutes, it was served. The eel rice box, soup, pickles, and a small side dish were included. When I tried it... The eel had a crispy surface and a fluffy inside. There was no fishy smell at all. It was delicious. With 4 pieces of eel and a large piece of rolled omelet, the portion was sufficient. Yes, I finished it all in no time. Ah, it was delicious. I think the taste, portion, and price make it a good deal. In addition, the service here is heartwarming. The chef, the lady in charge, and the guy are the three people running the place. I arrived early that day, and when I sat down, the guy casually brought me a sports newspaper. After paying, the lady said, "Please come again." It's just a small gesture, but it's so comforting. Delicious eel and soothing service, "Kishikawa," I will definitely come back!

One of my favorite eel restaurants is located in Akasaka. The interior is retro and has a cozy atmosphere loved by regulars and locals. The menu has only two options, where you choose between 2,000 yen or 3,000 yen upon entering. I chose the 2,000 yen option that day. The eel was thick and crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness in the sauce. It was so delicious that I felt excited. I also love the egg omelette. Of course, there was no fishy smell at all. I have always been the type to eat quickly and leave, so this place suited my style perfectly. From entering to leaving, it only took 20 minutes. Thanks to that, I was able to work efficiently afterwards. There were also salarymen taking bento boxes to go, which was convenient. It's great that the food is ready quickly!

Reasonably priced but delicious restaurant. The pickled vegetables served as a side dish are excellent. The grilled liver is also very good, with no unpleasant smell.

The restaurant serves eel from Kagoshima, which is prepared by the owner and grilled over charcoal, creating a tantalizing aroma that wafts outside the shop. The thick cuts of eel are priced at an unheard-of 3000 yen for the top quality, making it a friendly spot even for regular customers. During my visit, there were constant takeout orders and a steady stream of customers, showing that it is a long-standing establishment deeply rooted in the local community.

The service is pleasant for regulars who pay 2000 yen or 3000 yen, but newcomers may need some time to get used to it. The crispy and fluffy cucumber and myoga dish was quite good.

I had a job in Akasaka. This time, I targeted "Unagi no Kikawashikawa" near the Legal Affairs Bureau for lunch. After finishing my business, I arrived in about 7-8 minutes on foot. The visit time was 11:45. In front of the restaurant, there were bento boxes lined up for takeout. Inside the restaurant, there were two 4-person tables and about 10 counter seats. I was the first customer with no one else there. The staff asked me, "There are items for 2,000 yen and 3,000 yen, which one would you like?" I consulted my wallet and chose the 2,000 yen option. (laughs) I also asked for extra rice, which they happily accepted. It was a solo visit, so I sat at the counter. While waiting for the food, I chatted a bit with the staff. By the way, they have no relation to "Kishigawa Unagi" in Kyosenji. (They said they often get asked this and laughingly answered.) I ordered the "Unaju Matsui 2,000 yen (tax included)". It's a box of eel over rice with soup, mini salad, and pickles. They also gave me additional sauce and sansho pepper in separate containers. The eel was plump and delicious. It seemed like it was steamed maybe? The skin was crispy, and there was no strange eel taste. It was quite tasty. The hot rice paired perfectly with the eel. When I poured the sauce over the rice, it was even more delicious. The mini salad was pickled vegetables with a refreshing aftertaste. The soup had a fish cake-like ingredient instead of eel liver, which was a bit disappointing, but considering the price, it was a good value. More regular customers came in later, and the atmosphere became lively. I enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the feast.
