I recently went to Ropia for the first time. It was really crowded, with a long line from the entrance. In terms of cost, the annual fee for Costco is worth it for the fun factor. The vegetables at Ropia seem to be expensive, like 200 yen for a daikon radish. However, the meat and fish, especially the domestic products, are much cheaper than at the wholesale supermarket. Instant ramen is cheaper at Don Quijote, and the premium cheese at QBB is priced the same as regular cheese. The lack of variety in deli items is a downside, and the famous pizza was sold out when I went. I found frozen pork bone and chicken broth, which will be useful for making homemade ramen in winter. Overall, if you choose what you buy carefully, it can be a good experience. I bought a lot of things besides what is shown in the picture, but I was surprised that only cash is accepted at the supermarket nowadays. I was worried if I had enough cash. Personally, I think Costco is more enjoyable.

I never thought I would be satisfied with supermarket deli food! Although the price per item is a bit high because they are all large portions, it is cheaper than eating out and you can enjoy a variety of dishes. It's much more satisfying to buy a lot of deli food from Ropia than to order from a mediocre restaurant through Uber Eats! I've been hooked on it recently and keep going back for more. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the pizza, but the shumai, sweet potato, oversized nori rolls with filling, and the original salad dressing were all delicious.
