Recently, I heard that private room izakayas are popular, so I decided to try a few out. The first place I chose was Rakuzo Osaka Honmachi in Honmachi. The restaurant was located along Honmachi Street in a building basement. They have touch panel ordering, which I thought was impressive. You can even order things like hot towels and water with the touch panel. The private rooms were well-designed and clean. The quality of the food was a bit higher, with an average customer spending around 5,000 yen. It seems like a good place for a 30-something salaryman with some social experience to use for entertaining clients or hosting parties.

Located in Honmachi, a private room izakaya called "Rakuza Osaka Honmachi Ekimae Store" can be found on the basement floor of Tsuruya Golf to the right after crossing the Shinsaibashi-suji street to the east from the Honmachi 3 intersection on Midosuji Honmachi 3.
On this day, finishing work earlier than planned, I met a friend at Kitahama Station and tried to make reservations at a sushi restaurant and a yakitori restaurant, but they were both fully booked. So, we ended up in Honmachi. If this place didn't work out, we thought about going to Umeda or Shinsaibashi. We were told that they had availability for just an hour until 7:00 pm, so we decided to take a break there.
All private rooms with touch panel ordering, it felt a bit awkward for two men. We ordered a platter of grilled skewers, deep-fried chicken, a sashimi platter, seared sweet potato tempura, egg salad croquette sandwich, and six small bottles of beer and shochu. Last order was surprisingly at 30 minutes before closing. We hurriedly ate and drank in about 50 minutes and then left. It's smarter to reserve a two-hour all-you-can-drink course at these chain restaurants. "Where should we go next?" Thanks for the meal.

Surely, you can hear the voice of someone you love on a Holy night. The sound accumulating in your heart is a magical melody. Baby, baby, sorrow turns gray. After tears, white snow falls... ♫ (After the tears, white snow falls / 1993)

The location is really close to the station, so it's easy to gather. There are plenty of options for the second party around, which is convenient for the organizer. Next door is a karaoke place, making it easy to transition to the second party. The dishes are carefully arranged, so you can feel at ease. For the price, the quality of the ingredients is good. The restaurant has both private rooms where you take off your shoes and table-type private rooms. They are well separated, making it easy to have private conversations. They can accommodate large groups for welcome and farewell parties.

The drink service was a bit slow, possibly due to busyness. However, the food was delicious and it was comfortable to dine in a private room! ( ¨̮ )

Overall, it was good. I liked that they didn't take the last order for drinks, so we could drink until the last minute. If I had to mention something, the last order for food was a bit earlier than expected.

I used the service from a late hour. Since there was a last order, I couldn't eat much, so next time I will use it at an earlier time.

It's delicious but the cost performance might not be great.

The writer received their salary a day earlier and decided to treat themselves to a fancy lunch. They found a stylish restaurant in the Tsurya Honten building on Honmachi Street. After much deliberation, they chose between the beef tongue and steak set meal. They opted for the 170g steak set with extra rice. The atmosphere was upscale and the staff were friendly. However, the steak was overcooked and tough, lacking juiciness. The rice was also hard, making it difficult to chew. The miso soup was a bit too strong, but the salad was fresh and tasty. Overall, the writer felt that despite the high price, the quality of the food did not meet their expectations, and they would not be returning to the restaurant.

Tsuruya Golf Hon-ten's basement used to be occupied by a French restaurant. The current restaurant here has the concept of "authentic searing of the sea and land", specializing in grilled and fried dishes. Upon entering, I was surprised by the elegant and luxurious atmosphere. It's a complete turnaround from the previous French restaurant that was here. And to top it off, all rooms are private rooms. A bold layout that is unique to a business district. I entered a private room and looked at the menu, where my favorite dishes were lined up. (I was hesitant...even though I usually make quick decisions, I was indecisive about the food...) In the end, I fell back into my bad habit and chose the safe option. "I'll have the weekly special set, please." (Oops!) The lunch menu includes: - Weekly special set ¥850 - Beef kalbi grilled set ¥930 - Chicken nanban set ¥850 - Oyster fry set ¥930 - Beef tongue set ¥1,200 - Beef steak set ¥1,200 (170g) / ¥1,500 (250g) - Eel rice bowl ¥1,800 With this lineup, it's hard to choose, right? I'm not the only one who struggles, right? This week's "weekly special" was a choice between chicken cutlet and saury tempura. "I'll have the saury tempura!" I immediately ordered, as I love saury. The two-tiered bento box looked impressive. When I opened it, there were three small side dishes: sautéed burdock, tuna sashimi, and pickles. The main dish was saury and potato salad. The saury was delicious! It was coated in a soy-based mushroom sauce and was tender and juicy. The three large pieces were satisfying. It made me want to have rice and maybe a beer (but I resisted the urge for beer like a responsible person!). The staff's service was impeccable, and the ambiance was stress-free. I'm sure other menu items would be delicious as well. I'm curious about the evening performances at this restaurant. In the business district of Honmachi, a restaurant must have strong determination to compete. I hope this good restaurant continues to thrive. Next time, I'll try a meat-based lunch. Thank you for the meal.

There is an izakaya restaurant located on the basement floor of the building across from the St. Regis hotel, with a menu on the first floor that caught my attention. Although I was intrigued by the delicious-looking beef tongue, I ended up ordering the weekly special, shrimp mayonnaise. It came with 3 side dishes, rice, and miso soup for 850 yen. The restaurant is divided into smoking and non-smoking sections, with mostly private rooms and tatami seating available. Despite being in a non-smoking area, there was still a noticeable smell, which may be more prominent at night. In terms of taste, I found it to be a bit pricey for what it was – the lunch tasted like a typical izakaya meal. The service from the staff was very polite. Considering the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, it seems suitable for casual business lunches.
