I made a reservation for the chef's choice course and visited. The dishes were made with plenty of Hokkaido's blessings. The miso-marinated silver cod was so delicious that I couldn't help but mutter "delicious" after one bite. The corn tempura, chawanmushi, and other dishes showcased the skills of the chef and were delicious. We enjoyed various drinks and lots of water served in a pot, but I wished they had offered warm tea at the end as we left.

We had a lunch course to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This restaurant requires reservations, so we made sure to book in advance. There are parking spaces for four cars in front of the restaurant, and luckily one was available when we arrived. We were seated at a table with a view of a small garden, where we could see sparrows flying around and bees buzzing. It was a relaxing and beautiful setting. The room was a private tatami room, and we waited for our meal while admiring the decorative jars placed around the room. The first dish was mugwort tofu and simmered vegetables. The eggplant, pumpkin, zucchini, and edamame were all cooked to perfection with a gentle and colorful flavor. The mugwort tofu had a subtle aroma. The steamed egg custard with sea bream and plum on top was surprisingly delicious. The sashimi platter included sea bream, tuna, scallops, and sweet shrimp. The sea bream was incredibly sweet, and the shrimp was outstanding with its rich and sweet flavor. The tomato and mozzarella steamed egg custard was a pleasant surprise. Despite being warned by the waitress that it was hot, it didn't look steaming, so I was surprised when I took a bite. The tomato's acidity and the rich mozzarella flavor caught me off guard, but it was addictive. The asparagus tempura was perfectly fried, and the salmon and whitebait rice bowl, miso soup, and pickles were a satisfying end to the meal. The miso soup was a bit salty for my taste, but overall, the meal was refined and delicious, leaving us feeling just right. For dessert, we had yuzu sherbet. Both the food and the ambiance were equally important and enjoyable.

Tuesday at 12:00. Two people made a reservation and met at the restaurant. It's located on the first floor of an apartment building, just a short walk from Maruyama subway station. We took off our shoes and entered a traditional Japanese private room. Even though it was a private room, there was a transparent acrylic panel between the two of us. It seemed like there was only one other group of customers besides us. We started with a large draft beer for 380 yen (*^▽^)/□☆□\(^▽^*) Cheers! Lunch is great because beer is cheap♪ We ordered the Hanakomachi bento for 2500 yen. First, we were served a unique chawanmushi with tomato, cheese, and a savory sauce on top. It was hot and the cheese was melting and smooth. After a short wait, two long and narrow bento boxes were brought out with rice and miso soup. There was no explanation of the dishes, so we had to use our imagination. The Hanakomachi bento included dashimaki tamago, shrimp, marinated dishes, white tofu, salad with spring greens, and two large oyster fritters. I made a mistake as I forgot to mention my dislikes when making the reservation over the phone. I ended up giving the oyster fritters to my friend, sorry about that. The bento was filled with a variety of dishes and it was exciting to see. We also had a mini seafood rice bowl, red miso soup, pickles, and a glass of white wine for 400 yen while chatting. For dessert, we had milk-colored water dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. We spent 2 hours there and the total bill for two people was 7,320 yen. It would have been better if the dishes were served in two separate rounds as it took quite a long time for all the dishes to come out, except for the first chawanmushi and the last dessert.

Located just a short walk from Maruyama Koen Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Tozai Line. Today, I made a dinner reservation in advance. Upon entering the entrance and disinfecting with alcohol, I was guided to a stylish private room. Looking out the window, you can see water flowing from a lion's head fountain. The autumn leaves in yellow and red colors are illuminated, creating a nice atmosphere. First course: "Appetizer" served in a square dish. Opening the lid reveals a glass dish with tofu topped with salmon roe. The tofu is very firm and the gentle dashi flavor seeps into your body. Second course: "Soup" is a warm soup with large taro roots that mix well with the thick broth. Third course: "Sashimi" includes five types of sashimi such as botan shrimp and tuna. One of them is squid with a plum on top, a unique and delightful combination. Fourth course: "Abalone" paired with a round food item resembling takoyaki. The abalone is very tender and the inside of the takoyaki-like item is pumpkin, offering a subtle sweetness. Fifth course: "Oysters" with two warm oysters topped with tangy ponzu sauce. Sixth course: "Grilled Fish" is grilled alfonsino that is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Seventh course: "Rice dish" is a sea urchin bowl with a generous amount of sea urchin. The oceanic aroma spreads in your mouth, and a touch of wasabi soy sauce adds a different flavor. Eighth course: "Dessert" is a Catalana, a lightly sweet and chilled dessert. I forgot to take a picture. The "Omakase Kaiseki" course costs 14,300 yen including tax. It was a truly luxurious dinner experience, and I would love to visit again for special occasions. 🍽️

◆Tomato and Cheese Chawanmushi with Prepayment◆Assorted Appetizers: Dashimaki Tamago, Grilled Salmon with Saikyo Miso, Smoked Duck, Shrimp with Mayonnaise, Ginkgo Nuts◆Today's Small Dish: Tofu from Mineoka◆Simmered Dish: Eggplant Stuffed with Meat in An Sauce◆Deep-fried Dish: Crab-stuffed Potato◆Soup: Mini Deluxe Donburi with Bamboo Shoots, Red Miso, Pickles I used this restaurant for lunch. Since it was a private room, I was able to relax. The crab-stuffed potato was delicious, with a crispy surface and fluffy inside. The sashimi bowl was also delicious and made me feel luxurious with plenty of sashimi. The Tomato and Cheese Chawanmushi had a creamy cheese texture and an Italian atmosphere, which was also very tasty. The lunch drink was surprisingly cheap, including beer.

This is in the Maruyama area. I always feel a bit nervous when entering this area, as a commoner like me. The shop is located in a residential area, and this year, with the crazy amount of snow, the landscape has changed making it even more confusing. Arriving just in time for my reservation, I was greeted with a smile and shown to my table. I ordered the "Tamakazura Bento (2,500 yen, tax included)", and while sipping on hot tea, I eagerly awaited the dishes. The first dish to arrive was the "Tomato and Cheese Chawanmushi", a unique dish with fluffy chawanmushi topped with hot, melty mozzarella cheese, and a slightly tangy tomato sauce. It was delicious. The main dish, the "Tamakazura Bento", finally arrived. The "Seafood Bowl" had fresh and sweet shrimp, salmon, tuna, and scallops on slightly vinegared rice. The specialty dish, "Crab-Stuffed Potatoes", was a delicate and flavorful dish with buttery crab filling inside a perfectly cooked potato. The "Deep-Fried Arrowhead" and "Scallop Mayonnaise" were also delicious. Each dish was carefully prepared with thought and skill, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The private rooms were versatile and added to the calming atmosphere of the restaurant. The reasonable prices were also a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Lunch with a friend after several months. We were worried about infection, so we looked for a place with private rooms. We made a reservation at a place with private rooms and a reasonable price range of 1500-2500 yen for lunch, with five options available. They asked us to choose a menu when we made the reservation. It was also possible to decide on the day, but they warned us that it would take quite a bit of time. When we arrived, they mentioned that there might be a slight wait because it was full, so it was good that we had decided on the menu in advance. We had a pleasant chat in the private room while waiting. I had the Hanakomachi Bento for 2000 yen, which allowed me to try a variety of delicious dishes. The staff seemed a bit tired, perhaps because the restaurant was full.

◆Sapporo Maruyama, Kappo Tamazasa (Lunch)◆ I visited Kappo Tamazasa for the first time for lunch, and I must say the lunch menu is quite a good deal. I ordered the Tamakazura bento for ¥2,500 (tax included). The meal is served in a private room. The appetizer was a tomato and cheese chawanmushi, which was the most delicious dish of the meal. The balance of acidity was perfect. The crab-stuffed potato was a recommended dish at Tamazasa. The atmosphere is relaxing, but the loud voice of a man in the adjacent room discussing about food (not the restaurant's fault) and the lack of attentiveness from the staff were a bit disappointing. Overall, it's a good place for casual dining and light work discussions among middle-aged men.

May 2021 ★ Tamakazura 2500 -> 2000 yen Located near Enzan Station, this long-established traditional Japanese restaurant has been in business for 50 years! You can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine without any pretense in a calm Japanese-style interior. Aside from the counter seats, all tables are private rooms for a secure and private dining experience. The lunch menu offers 5 options, and there is currently a special campaign for loyal customers to enjoy a more luxurious "Tamakazura Bento" at a discounted price. While you may want to have a drink, please note that the ban on alcohol consumption in the Reiwa era is currently in effect. So, while you wait, enjoy the appetizer of steamed tomato and cheese, which is absolutely delicious! Once you finish, a two-tiered box is served with various side dishes like grilled salmon, u-no-hana, lotus root with yuzu flavor, rolled kelp, shrimp mayo dashimaki tamago, sweet potato, and more. The small dish of creamy tofu is so smooth that it makes you crave for sake. The simmered dish with a gentle dashi broth offers a refreshing taste with the bitterness of butterbur. Don't miss the popular "Jagaimo no Kani-zume" - a crispy and fluffy potato filled with crabmeat and butter. The small seafood bowl with a variety of fresh sashimi and plenty of salmon roe is quite luxurious. Finish your meal with two types of pickles and a red miso soup. This restaurant is quite popular, so it's recommended to make an early reservation for lunch. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Limited to 10 meals, the luxurious Tamazasa Deluxe Don set meal costs 1350 yen. The restaurant offers traditional Japanese cuisine in a cozy setting, with only one group allowed at the counter and the rest using private rooms for infection prevention. There is no menu, only an explanation about the different types of soy sauce used. The meal includes a lavish bowl with tomato and cheese chawanmushi, scallops, shrimp, white fish, tuna, and ikura topped with gold leaf. Other dishes include tofu skin wrapped in kombu, deep-fried shrimp with nuts, grilled fish, dashimaki tamago, vinegared renkon and greens, teriyaki fish, sweet potato, and tofu miso soup.

Kaiseki restaurant located in the Maruyama area of Sapporo. This place was featured on a local TV show (D-Wide) and I decided to visit to try their "luxurious bowl set meal" for 1,000 yen (excluding tax) until the end of this month. The private rooms were a great feature, and there is parking space for 4 cars in front of the restaurant. I visited without a reservation around 12 pm. I parked my car and entered the restaurant. I was guided to a private room at the back. The cozy atmosphere was very nice. They served green tea and a hot towel. The green tea was delicious. I had already decided to try the "luxurious bowl set meal" which is usually priced at 1,650 yen but was discounted to 1,100 yen (including tax) until the end of May. The server asked if I was okay with the wait, as it would take some time. I had no problem waiting as I had work in the evening. They didn't serve coffee and dessert, but offered it for an additional 200 yen. I declined and waited. After about 15 minutes, they brought out the first dish: Tomato and Cheese Chawanmushi (normally priced at 550 yen). I was surprised by the individual serving. It was delicious, with hot cheese and tomatoes, and even had udon inside. It was really tasty. After finishing, I waited for about 10 minutes before the main dish arrived. They explained the soy sauce options: Yolk soy sauce on the left and regular soy sauce on the right. The dish was a "luxurious bowl set meal" with a variety of fresh sashimi such as bigeye tuna, scallops, shrimp, salmon, sea bream, herring roe, squid, and salmon roe. The amount of toppings was generous, and the flavors were amazing. The dish also included cucumber, herring roe, and pickled ginger. The nori seaweed was a nice touch. The potential of this dish was incredible. The meal also included Dashimaki Tamago, seasoned salmon, shrimp fry, red miso soup, pickles, and unique tofu. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience. The discounted price is only until the end of this month, so I might go back one more time. If it were 1,650 yen, I might have to think twice. As of May 15, 2020. 3.39

I made a reservation for a private room where I could have a leisurely conversation on this day. I ordered a set meal with fried oysters. The sashimi was served on top of white rice in a bowl, and the staff kindly taught me how to eat it that way. The chawanmushi had cheese in it. Private rooms are very convenient, especially when dining with children or when you want to have a conversation without worrying about others. The food was delicious.

It is a traditional Japanese restaurant located in Maruyama. They have private rooms with tatami seating, creating a great atmosphere. The dishes are elegant and delicious, and the alcohol pairs well with them. They offer dishes using matsutake mushrooms and other seasonal ingredients. It's a perfect place for celebrations or special gatherings.

Second visit. Last time I had the Maruyama Kaiseki. This time, I tried the Kyoga Gosetsu. The flavor was excellent, with a good dashi base and well-balanced seasoning. However, on both visits, there were missing items like pickles and soy sauce for sashimi, and the staff seemed a bit disorganized. The taste is unquestionably good, so I hope they can improve their customer service a bit more.

I ordered a kaiseki course for lunch, but I was surprised by the quality and service, which I would rate as a '3.5' in Hokkaido. The service was like a regular set meal restaurant, and the seasoning in the broth was too mild. It was a disappointing lunch.

The atmosphere near Maruyama Koen Station is not bad. There are table seats with curtains. It seems difficult to get lunch without a reservation, more due to the limited number of seats. At night, there is also a la carte menu, but the basic is course usage. The Kyoto-style Gozen lunch set (limited to lunch) costs 3000 yen. It's like a bento box served all at once. The dishes include sea bream sushi, duck roast, Kyoto-style grilled mackerel, rolled omelette, two types of delicacies, sesame tofu, octopus stew, salad with grilled vegetables and spring chrysanthemum, seasonal sashimi, shrimp and lily bulb tempura, taro yam marinated in miso, steamed cod, tomato and cheese chawanmushi, rice, red miso soup, pickles, dessert, and coffee. I like the taste of the rice, but there is not much of it. The restaurant is more casual than high-end, so it's good for everyday use.
