First, I moisten my throat with a Heartland draft beer. The foam is fine and I have a feeling it's a good place. I ordered the lunch set with mapo tofu. What was the mapo tofu I've eaten before... it's delicious. It's spicy and rich, with the umami of dried shrimp. It's elegant yet traditional mapo tofu. It's the best. The shumai is also fluffy and has a nice texture. The balance of meat quality, taste, and steaming is perfect. I also tried the recommended dish of the day, which was warabi spring rolls mixed with warabi powder and black vinegar. It's refreshing and has a nice elasticity. It's a taste I've never had before. It's addictive. It was delicious and I finished it quickly. The taste was worthy of the Bib Gourmand. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

On my day off, I enjoyed a solo lunch mini-course. Blissful. [Appetizers: Pickled Collinkey Squash, Seasoned Bamboo Shoots, Oyama Chicken Rolls, Duck Char Siu] The quality of the appetizers was fantastic. The Collinkey squash can be eaten raw, with a refreshing sweet vinegar taste. The chicken rolls had a soft outer skin that easily split with chopsticks. The duck char siu had an amazing texture, not too strong in flavor, and very tender. The taste of duck can vary depending on the restaurant. [Main: Homemade Doubanjiang Mapo Tofu] Honestly, I don't usually like mapo tofu, but I love the one here. The richness and the flavor of the minced meat won me over last time I came with a friend, and I realized that the deliciousness doesn't come from the amount of Sichuan peppercorns. [Li Mian] When it comes to Longkou Teahouse, Li Mian noodles are a must. But their simple fried rice is also delicious. The finely chopped char siu is plentiful, and the noodles are coated in oil, making them delicious. A healthy oil soba. The dessert was lychee sherbet. The default drink is jasmine tea, so it feels like a dessert and drink set course. I would love to visit again if a new intriguing dish is added to the main menu. Thank you for the feast.

Tokyo's top 100 Chinese restaurant, known for its "Sato noodles." Located on the way from Iidabashi to Kagurazaka Station. The spacious restaurant has a bright and open atmosphere with glass windows facing the road. I chose the lunch mini-course for 2,200 yen, with the Sato noodles as the main dish. The appetizers were delicious, including salted lemon simmered chicken meatballs. The Sato noodles, made with chlorella, topped with char siu and green onions, were excellent - refreshing yet satisfying. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had some errands in Kagurazaka, so I decided to have lunch while I was there. I came across this place after reading a review by Ekodaneko-sama and became interested in trying their Sato Men. The restaurant is about a 7-8 minute walk from the station and has a bright, casual, and spacious atmosphere. I arrived right at opening time and was the first customer. I opted for the lunch mini course priced at 2200 yen. Here's what I had: - Assorted appetizers (black-bone chicken with century egg, two types of char siu, dried tofu strings) - Chicken meatball and glass noodle simmered in salted lemon - Sato Men (seaweed-infused chewy noodles with pickled vegetables, char siu, green onions, and sesame oil) - Almond jelly The mini course had a simple yet substantial composition. The main dish changes daily, but the chicken meatball and glass noodle dish was perfect for a hot summer day - refreshing and gentle on the palate. Next up was the much-talked-about Sato Men. The chewy noodles, infused with chlorella for digestive health, were mixed with pickled vegetables, char siu, green onions, and sesame oil. It was a simple and easy-to-eat dish that was surprisingly satisfying and addictive. Despite the decent portion size, I finished it easily as it was light. The almond jelly dessert was not overly sweet and had a nice creamy texture. Overall, the dishes had a gentle flavor profile and were simple yet not boring. If this place was closer to my neighborhood, I would definitely visit every month.

Chirin Chinese Cuisine in Shinjuku, Tokyo, opened in April 2019 in Kagurazaka. It is the sister restaurant of "Zenrakubou" also located in Kagurazaka. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with 32 seats. Despite being newly opened, it was listed in the Michelin Guide Tokyo Bib Gourmand for 2020. The course menu priced at 5,500 yen includes dishes like chilled potato, pickled coriander pumpkin, Sichuan-style steamed chicken with Shaoxing wine, duck char siu, chilled tomato and jellyfish, Shaoxing wine-soaked angel prawns, and lemongrass green papaya. The Chinese cuisine here is not greasy, with a gentle and delicate flavor that is likely to be well-liked by Japanese people. The selection of alcohol, including Shaoxing wine, is also impressive. The quality and quantity of the course menu at 5,500 yen offer great value for money and high satisfaction. The lunch mini-course menu also appears to be a good deal. The a la carte menu written on the blackboard is also attractive, making you want to try it for dinner. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

I visited a restaurant called "里麺" for the first time right when it opened at 11:30 am on a weekday, after seeing good reviews. I ordered the lunch mini course for 2,200 yen. The appetizer platter arrived in about 10 minutes, with items like century egg, green papaya, and two kinds of char siu (pork and duck). Then, after about 15 minutes, the daily special dish arrived, which was chicken wings and wood ear mushrooms simmered in sauce. It was decent, with a mild flavor and a thick consistency. For the main dish, I ordered the "里麵," which took another 15 minutes to arrive. Compared to the version at Hataya no Takiguchi Sakuya, this one had a more refined taste and a lighter saltiness. Lastly, I enjoyed a small but delicious mango dessert. While my experience might have been due to the day I visited, I recommend opting for individual lunch items instead of the course if you're short on time. The food was tasty, so I might consider returning for dinner. Thank you for the meal.

For Sunday lunch, I went to Chirin. Since reservations are for courses only, I skipped the fried rice and mapo tofu. Started with four kinds of appetizers. The green papaya with mujangyu dressing had a vibrant lemongrass-like aroma that increased my appetite. Next was shabu-shabu with lettuce in Hong Kong sauce. It was my first time trying Hong Kong sauce, similar to XO sauce but with a gentle seafood flavor without sweetness. The soup, combined with the meat, and lettuce was incredibly delicious. Finally, fried rice. It felt slightly more substantial compared to fried noodles. A simple fried rice with char siu and egg, accompanied by a soup with a hint of nori, left me feeling satisfied. Dessert was oolong tea ice cream, refreshing.

While promoting itself as a medicinal cuisine restaurant, this Chinese restaurant offers delicious dishes that are easy to eat. From the appetizers to the main courses, the meat and fish are elegantly seasoned, changing the perception of Chinese cuisine. With a wide selection of Chinese tea and Shaoxing wine, it is recommended for those who enjoy them.

One of the top Chinese restaurants in Kagurazaka. I had been curious about this place for a while and finally got to go. I made a reservation and went on a weekday night, but it wasn't full, so it might be an easy place to visit. The course menu looked appealing, but we decided to order a la carte. We chose dishes with descriptions on the menu, expecting them to be the highlights, and they were all delicious. Just like its sister restaurant "Zenzaku-bo," this place skillfully prepares everyone's favorite dishes in an elegant and tasty way. The standout dish was the shrimp with mayonnaise. Even after eating all this, it only cost 5,000 yen per person. I feel like becoming a regular and trying not just the classic menu items but also the recommended dishes on the blackboard. ◆Food 3.6 - Assorted appetizers 3.5 - Homemade sausages 3.5 - Mapo tofu with Sichuan pepper 3.5 - Shrimp with ethnic mayonnaise sauce 4.0 - Meat shumai dumplings 3.5 - Liangpi noodles 3.5 - Shaoxing wine ice cream 3.5 ◆Atmosphere Service 3.5 ◆Price 4.0 5,000 yen per person

I wanted to eat Chinese food near Kagurazaka, so I chose this restaurant. It is located a little away from the bustling area of Kagurazaka, with a stylish interior that doesn't look like a typical Chinese restaurant, which is nice! The clientele ranges from adults to children, but the atmosphere is calm and suitable for families or dates. Both my companion and I thought that everything we ordered was delicious! The dishes were not greasy like typical Chinese food, with a refined and delicate flavor. We ordered a la carte, including homemade sausages, shrimp and tomato stir-fry, shumai, corn and shrimp stir-fry, baked buns, fried noodles, Taiwanese salted fish fried rice, draft beer, tea, and grapefruit highball. My companion's favorites were the shrimp, tomato, and egg stir-fry, shumai, and salted fish fried rice. I particularly enjoyed the sausages, shrimp, tomato, and egg stir-fry, and salted fish fried rice. The shrimp, tomato, and egg stir-fry was a simple dish but had the perfect balance of saltiness and the creamy texture of the eggs. The salted fish fried rice had a rich saltiness and the unique flavor of salted fish, which was very delicious! I didn't know there was such a great restaurant here, and the prices were very reasonable. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today I went to have lunch in the Kagurazaka area. I decided to try this relatively affordable Chinese restaurant among the top 100 Chinese restaurants. The interior of the restaurant is new and clean with a stylish atmosphere, not like a typical Chinese restaurant at first glance. Since I was alone, I was seated at a large shared table near the entrance without having to wait. It seemed like the restaurant was usually full during lunchtime, and the turnover rate was not very high. The complimentary drink was cold Chinese tea, which was surprisingly nice. The menu offered lunch sets as well as a la carte options, providing flexibility. However, I noticed the words "Lunch Mini Course (1980 yen)" and "Li Mian" on the menu! Li Mian, the green noodles with chlorella, right? I have had it a few times at Zenshakudo, so could this be a related restaurant? Come to think of it, the interior design also resembles it in some ways. (It seems to be a related restaurant.) So, I decided to go for the Lunch Mini Course and have Li Mian after a long time! First, I had four appetizers: century egg, shredded pickled vegetables, saliva chicken, and duck, all of which were delicious! Next, I had the chef's special dish of spare ribs and plum meat steamed with rice flour. The spare ribs came with crushed bones and were quite hearty, but the plum seasoning made it refreshing. And then, the Li Mian arrived! It was still green as ever. The cold noodles were perfect for the hot season. The toppings included shredded pickled vegetables, roast pork, and sliced green onions. The flavor with sesame oil and some sauce was superb. It was gone in no time because it was so delicious! The hot egg soup with seaweed was also tasty. The dessert was lychee sherbet, which was refreshing. It was a healthy and delicious course, just the right amount for lunch. The price was also pleasing, being under 2000 yen for the course. It was very delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Arrived at 11:40 on Saturday. Only an 8-person table for shared seating was available due to reservation. Sat side by side with 2 people. The interior of the restaurant is clean. Ordered the jellyfish cold shumai and the shrimp mayo with an ethnic twist as a single item. The shrimp mayo can be eaten with the shell, which is not off-putting. The taste is spot on and perfect for hot days or when looking for a unique flavor! Also ordered the recommended lunch set for 1980 yen. It included 4 items, each a small piece of black-boned chicken ham and others. Everything was carefully prepared. The daily special dish was spare ribs steamed with plum and mochi rice. Was hesitant to order due to difficulty in eating, but actually, the meat came off the bone easily and was enjoyable to eat with chopsticks. A unique spare rib dish that was interesting. The plum and mochi rice had a good balance of flavor and aroma. Chose the chlorella noodles as recommended, but it seems like it may not be to everyone's taste. The noodles have a good texture and are delicious, but the beautiful green color is what stands out.

Today, I tried to go for tonkatsu for lunch, but the line was too long so I gave up and decided to visit this restaurant that I had bookmarked for a while. This restaurant has won the Bib Gourmand award in the past and has also been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog in 2023. It is located near Kagurazaka, a short walk from Iidabashi Station. I arrived at 11:30 am and was the first customer. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and has a calm atmosphere, with slow-tempo jazz playing in the background. When I asked for recommendations since it was my first time there, the staff said that all lunch menu items were available. I ordered the Ma La Mapo Tofu (1300 yen) which arrived in about 10 minutes. It consisted of mapo tofu, rice, soup, and a side dish. The mapo tofu had chunks of ground meat and was moderately spicy. It was decent, but I have had better mapo tofu elsewhere. The rice was good quality but slightly on the firm side. The soup had a medicinal herb-like flavor which was nice. The side dish was pickled colinque (a type of squash) with a sweet vinegar dressing, which was unique and had a melon-like flavor. Overall, the atmosphere was great, but the food was just okay. I felt that One Rin in Shintomicho offered better quality for the same price. However, if you're looking for Chinese cuisine in Kagurazaka, this place is a decent choice. As more lunch reservations came in, I noticed that they accept reservations, which is convenient. Comparing it to Zenzai-ya which has a more cafe-like atmosphere, this restaurant has a more stylish and chic vibe. It seems that Chirin is focused on "enjoying a leisurely drink in a relaxed setting," so it might be a good choice for a night out. Overall, it was a trendy Chinese restaurant experience!

- Homemade sausage (1 piece) - Stir-fried corn and scallops with salt - Ezo venison wrapped in cashew nuts and deep-fried - Simple roasted pork fried rice Total: 7,140 yen for 2 people The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very stylish. It's strange, but all the customers seem to exude the Kagurazaka vibe. Each dish shows a sense of style and dedication. The homemade sausage and the stir-fried corn and scallops are excellent. There's no way the fried rice isn't delicious. Is Ezo venison really Chinese cuisine!? I had a lot of fun with various dishes. And the fact that it only cost 7,140 yen for 2 people is amazing. I'll definitely come back.

I felt like eating Chinese food and found a restaurant to go to on the same day. I was able to get in right away without a reservation. Everyone else seemed to have made reservations. I ordered various dishes a la carte for lunch and had a drink. It was a refreshing Taiwanese-style Chinese cuisine and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Tomohayashi-san has a favorite lunch menu at this restaurant. The 1980 yen lunch course is such a great deal that I always go for it. This place is also great for lunch meetings and such. The appetizer always consists of four types: - Green papaya with lemongrass flavor - Shredded potato salad with sesame oil flavor - Pork char siu - Duck char siu (with cilantro, green onions, doubanjiang, and sweet bean sauce to your liking) They also serve ice jasmine tea by default instead of water, and they will refill it for you. I also ordered the meat shumai (330 yen) last time I came for dinner, and it was delicious. It's fluffy and a taste that everyone would love. They brought it in a steamer, hot and fresh. The main dish today was also of high quality! The crispy fried soft-shell angel prawns were delicious, and you can eat the shell too. But I found the strings in the snap peas a bit bothersome. The cold Lee noodles with chlorella, topped with green onions, char siu, and sesame oil, had a good texture. It's definitely delicious even when eaten with mustard. The egg soup had a nice thick texture and good dashi flavor. The iced oolong tea was a great way to finish the meal, and the fact that you can choose how to end the meal is a nice touch. When it gets hot, I always go for the Lee noodles, but the hot noodles are also delicious. All of this for this price! This is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants.

For weekend lunch. I didn't make a reservation, but I was able to sit at a large table without having to wait in line. It was my first time, so I opted for the course menu and chose the clear soup noodles as the finishing touch. The appetizers were each carefully prepared and my appetite increased with each bite, making me look forward to the next dish. The stir-fry dish was green papaya stir-fry, with a well-balanced flavor and just the right amount that left me wanting more. The clear soup noodles were light yet rich in flavor. The clear soup made me feel like I was doing something good for my body. However, I couldn't help but feel a little regret when I heard the customer next to me ordering fried rice with mapo tofu on top... that must be delicious... I'll definitely order that next time. The friend I went with ordered the "liang mian," which seemed to have a more well-rounded flavor at Zenzakuro. The other side dishes also looked very delicious. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.
