On weekends, after finishing work, I used a small group campaign for a same-day reservation in Minami. I found a place that accepts same-day reservations for one person on Tabelog, so I made a reservation. Head east from Daimaru Sogo, pass through the shopping street, and turn into the alley next to Camera Naniwa. There are several dining places lined up. The interior of the restaurant has a small counter and a tatami room, and the owner seems to be working alone, perhaps due to the season or always being the case. The omakase course is ¥5,000 (excluding tax), with only the omakase option available on the menu. You leave everything to the owner. Draft beer is 500 yen, highball is 600 yen, and shochu is only famous brands for 700 yen, slightly on the expensive side. The appetizer is boiled komatsuna, and even though I don't drink, I appreciate the level and effort of the restaurant through the appetizer. Next is sashimi, 3 types with 3 pieces each, including thick slices of salmon, bonito tataki, and tuna, showing that they use good quality ingredients. The grilled dish is sawara, served with kabosu for a refreshing taste. Then there are various tempura dishes, simmered dishes, and miso soup, which is rich but not heavy. The rice dish is eel kama-meshi, with a small amount of eel but flavored with sansho pepper. Finally, like hitsumabushi, you enjoy the remaining broth over the rice. The tatami room seemed to be for a party, and the owner seemed busy with drink orders, but in his free time, he would provide interesting stories and maintain a good distance in his service. It may not be easy to visit alone, but this kind of restaurant is a good choice if you are accompanying someone.
