Tonight, I really wanted to eat croquettes! After wandering around the hotel for about an hour, I found this place where I could eat beef croquettes after 10 pm. I settled in with some appetizers and a draft beer, and enjoyed a dote hot pot and the long-awaited croquettes. The hot pot was comforting with plump oysters. The croquettes were crispy and quite delicious. It was a nice place to relax for locals. Thank you for the meal!

Dinner time at the izakaya "Jizaimon" in Shinmachi. I have visited this place a couple of times before, but due to the pandemic, it has been a while since my last visit. The first floor has a counter and table seats, while the second floor has tatami seating. This time, I visited with a friend, so we sat at a table on the first floor. I had a lemon shochu highball, and my friend had a highball to cheers. The appetizers were simmered pork belly and canapés. The tender pork belly with simmered egg and the canapé with cream cheese and salami were delicious. The dishes we had were pork shabu tofu salad, bonito tataki, doteyaki, myoga and seafood tempura, and pickled shallots. Each dish was flavorful and went well with our drinks. To finish, we had a sake tasting set with three different types to choose from. The restaurant is run by two elderly women and has a cozy, homey atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes. It is worth noting that smoking is allowed. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Yotsuhashi ◇ Japanese Izakaya ◇ [Shimmachi 1-chome, Nishi Ward] Located at the intersection of Nagahori-dori and Yotsubashi-suji (Yotsuhashi), heading north past the first traffic light and then west for two blocks, on the left corner is Izakaya Jinzaemon. The name of the restaurant evokes a love for kabuki or a favorite area. On a rainy weekday evening after 6 pm, we entered the red curtain after work. A regular customer was sitting at the counter, and the two of us sat at a table and ordered a bottle of beer. The menu was full of Japanese dishes as advertised, and there were about 20 bottles of shochu lined up on the counter. Despite the variety, we opted for Asahi Super Dry in a glass. The beer was not cold (room temperature), which was disappointing. We had some appetizers, sashimi, marinated octopus and tomato, and a tasting set of shochu on the rocks. After about 30 minutes, we left the restaurant (preferring draft beer). "See you again! Shall we go eat soba next time?" Thank you for the meal.
All of my life
I've been waitin' in the rain
I've been waitin' for a feelin'
that never ever came
It feels so close but always disappears.

Enjoying various types of food while picking at them, this place offers everything delicious. The tasting set allows you to freely combine your favorite types of sake, shochu, wine, etc., which was surprising. The amount is equivalent to about two small cups, so you can enjoy it properly. But be careful not to drink too much as it can be dangerous. It is recommended to relax on the second floor.

I went to Shinmachi late at night. A shop I occasionally visit was unexpectedly closed for the day due to influenza, as stated on a notice posted on the door. Oh well, I'll tease them when they reopen. Grumbling to myself, I entered a nearby place. Although I thought I had been there before, it turned out to be my first visit. The place had a counter and three tables, and was run by a woman and another staff member. It was a cold day, so I ordered hot sake first. The food menu was quite extensive, with a variety of dishes that seemed a bit homey or slightly different from typical izakaya offerings. We were served two appetizers. There were large bottles of shochu on the counter, and the drink menu featured a wide selection of sake. I stuck with Kyuryu for 680 yen, which was a great deal. I also tried the udon noodles, which turned out to be surprisingly good. The asparagus wrapped in pork was also a pleasant surprise, with sauce and mayo drizzled on top. I preferred it with a bit more salt or soy sauce flavor. The tonpeiyaki was like a large, round okonomiyaki with a soft, fluffy texture. I learned that they also have a second floor that can be used for small gatherings. Thank you for the meal.

A delicious izakaya in the neighborhood. It has a home-cooked feel but is a must-visit for drinkers. The dishes have a strong flavor and everything is delicious! It seems like it's run by a mother and maybe one other person, so it can get busy and you might be turned away during peak times, which is a shame.

I might go every time I visit Osaka. The alcohol selection is amazing. They have a wide variety of dishes including fish, meat, fried food, sashimi, noodles, and more. It can get crowded on weekends.

I saw a row of sake bottles from the road to the window, so I went in alone. As expected, there is a wide variety of sake and shochu available. The owner's preference is to intentionally stock delicious ginjo and junmai sake instead of daiginjo. The menu for food is also extensive. I went in for dinner and had no problems. It's a shame that I couldn't order many dishes because I was alone. I will go again.

This is Hime. Now for the second restaurant in Osaka... I decided to go to Nizaemon because there were many office workers there! They said it's until 12 o'clock, but I went in anyway (laughs). The beer was delicious, and the squid with vinegar miso was so tasty. The beef tendon stir-fry was a bit tough, with lots of garlic chips. The boiled geoduck was a favorite taste of mine. It was tender. Alright, let's go to the third restaurant—(^_^)/ Thank you for the meal. Check out my blog here: http://hime.cjb.net/~hime/?p=4247

The other day, I would like to introduce a restaurant I went to in Yotsubashi, Osaka. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Yotsubashi Station on the Yotsubashi subway line. The exterior has a calm atmosphere. Inside, the first floor had counter seats and table seats lined up. Although I couldn't count the number of seats, the restaurant was quite busy, probably because it was a Friday. On this day, my friends made a reservation for us, so we were seated on the second floor in a tatami room. The second floor had two 4-person tables, making it a cozy space perfect for small gatherings. This restaurant is known as a "Kirin Full Point Draft Beer" establishment, where a "barrel-packed master" who graduated from the Kirin Draft Masters School serves barrel-packed draft beer. Looking at the menu, besides beer, there was a good selection of sake and shochu. I was surprised by the variety of dishes on the menu as well. The atmosphere is homely and you can enjoy a relaxing drink. Moreover, the food was delicious and the cost-performance ratio was quite good. It was my first time at this restaurant, but I was able to enjoy delicious drinks and food in a leisurely manner. I think it's a good restaurant to go to with a small group of people, where you can have a good time chatting and drinking.
