It's the nostalgic Pinocchio-san in a retro coffee shop style. When it comes to coffee shops, cream soda is a must-have. So, I ordered a cream soda. I was surprised by how tall it was. Oh, I see, it's soft serve ice cream. Not ice cream on top. As a fan of soft serve ice cream, I felt like I hit the jackpot.

I walked from 6-chome to Minamimori-machi along the Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, which is said to be the longest arcade shopping street in Japan, during Golden Week. It has been almost 5 years since I left Osaka, so I was looking for any new shops. I came across a cafe called Cafe Grill Pinocchio. The atmosphere was like an old-fashioned coffee shop, but the shop itself was new, so I was curious. Upon researching, I found out that it is part of the Fujio Food System Group, which also operates popular restaurants such as Maido Ookini Shokudo, Kushiyamonogatari, Udon no Turumaru, Harado Natsu, and Soba Tsuchiyamabito. I used to love these restaurants when I was in Osaka. In the Hokuriku region, there is only Maido Ookini Shokudo, but I occasionally visit. I decided to enter Cafe Grill Pinocchio. Looking at the menu, it had a classic coffee shop menu. One item that stood out was the old-fashioned Teppan Napolitan, which is not available at the Western restaurant Fujio-ken. As a passionate Napolitan lover, I couldn't resist ordering it! The Teppan Napolitan here was fantastic. The noodles were just the right thickness, around 1.8mm, and the toppings included green peppers, onions, and sausages. Perfect! The ketchup flavor was a bit light for my taste, but still enjoyable. The noodles were slightly crispy from being cooked on the teppan, which I really liked. There were various other classic menu items available, and I thought it was great. Truly a Fujio Food place. I would recommend this cafe to both locals and tourists alike. (*´∀｀*)

【2021.05.09】I discovered a new place that had opened in the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. They had a lunch special from 11:00 to 15:00, but the details were not listed on the sign, it simply said to ask the staff. When I inquired at the entrance, they said it was "Shrimp Fry," so I decided to go in. The "Daily Lunch Special (Shrimp Fry) for 780 yen" was the same as the "Shrimp Fry Set Meal for 950 yen" on the menu. It included shrimp fry, ham, ketchup pasta, cabbage, broccoli, tartar sauce, lemon, rice, and miso soup. There were 3 pieces of shrimp fry, and the ham underneath was surprisingly large. The rice (with Fukujinzuke) was served on a plate, and the miso soup (with seaweed) came in a cup. I later realized that the fruit shown in the menu photo was missing, and when I asked, they simply said it was "sold out."

I had been curious about it for a while, so I went to have breakfast because I had plans. There were various options for the morning set, and I chose the one with eggs. For the price of coffee ☕️, I got toast, a small boiled egg, a small banana, a small orange, and coffee ☕️ all on one plate. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calming and relaxing. They also had lunch options that changed daily, and the desserts looked delicious. I would like to try the lunch and desserts next time I visit.

Head to this café to rest your tired body after a sake hopping in Temma. They have multiple branches, but the atmosphere here is calm. They offer a variety of ice parfaits, making it suitable for a girls' night out. The high dividers between tables allow for a relaxing and leisurely time. It's a great place to drop by and kill some time.

It is a new branch of the Fuji Food Group, with a nostalgic coffee shop-like Western-style eatery vibe. The entrance is small, but the interior is spacious and the seats have a nice retro feel. I chose the daily special on this Sunday, which was the shrimp fry set. It came with three large shrimp fries, napoletana, shredded cabbage, tartar sauce, rice, and miso soup. The shrimp fry tasted like something your mother would make, more like home-cooked comfort food than professional restaurant fare. It was reasonably delicious. The napoletana was also tasty. It seems that the menu varies by location, so I would like to try the Tenroku side next time.

Long time no see. I've been doing well without catching a cold. I've been busy with work lately, so I haven't been in touch. Today, I left without having breakfast and finished my errands around 10:30 am. I was open to eating anything, but my growing companion wanted to eat omurice. So, we searched for a place that serves omurice in the morning and finally found one. I decided to have Mont Blanc toast, which is four slices of buttered bread with a generous amount of Mont Blanc cream and maple syrup for extra sweetness. It was surprisingly sweet and delicious. My companion had omurice with hamburger and then switched to omurice with shrimp fry. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with dim lighting and jazz music playing. After eating, we took a stroll to Temmangu Shrine. We almost got on the wrong train back home, but luckily we realized it just in time.

After finishing my temporary job, I had lunch at a restaurant and ordered the daily special lunch set which was pork ginger stir-fry with cream croquette. The nostalgic atmosphere of the old-fashioned Western-style restaurant was really charming and I thought, "I should come back again sometime."

After finishing lunch, I decided to take a stroll and ended up looking for a café to continue chatting. I found a recently opened café called Pinocchio. They seem to offer a great lunch deal, as the place was packed with people. The café has many booth seats and a spacious interior with a long layout at the back. They offer a cake set for 550 yen, which is quite reasonable. You can also buy individual cakes for 200 yen each displayed in the showcase. I ordered a slice of chocolate cake and an iced coffee. The cake was not too sweet, not too big, just the right amount of sweetness that paired well with the iced coffee. It's a perfect café for a little break. They also have solid infection prevention measures in place, so I felt safe during my visit. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Intrigued, I went inside around 1 pm, and the staff brought me the lunch menu. Apologizing for the timing, I requested a coffee break and eventually got the cake set menu. Each cake was priced the same, which was impressive. I ordered the cake set for 550 yen (tax included) and chose the strawberry raspberry mousse cake. When the cake arrived, even my companions were surprised by its size. Despite the initial shock, the taste was delicious, just as it looked. Later, I had a meal at a well-known dining spot in the shopping street, a branch of the Fujio Group. The price, food quality, and atmosphere were all quite good. They even had sports newspapers available, although there wasn't much to read at that time. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thank you for the meal.

Today I had lunch here♪ I wandered around Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street lol. This shopping street spans from 1st to 6th block of Tenjinbashi-suji. It has a long history, starting from the Edo period (1653) when a vegetable market was established, and later developed into Japan's longest shopping street with clothing stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It is about 2.6 km long with 600 shops lining the street. Although there are no inbound tourists now, it is still a bustling shopping street with a touristy vibe. This restaurant opened on April 15, 2021, and I was debating between the hamburger and shrimp fry. When I asked the staff if they had a combination of both, they recommended the shrimp fry set as it was the daily special. I don't know if they were trying to avoid making a hamburger during lunchtime or if they just wanted to promote the daily special, but going with the shrimp fry was definitely the right choice. The shrimp fry was crispy, and the side dishes included spaghetti, ham, salad, and soup, all well-prepared. The tartar sauce was not too sour, so I ended up adding more sauce to my liking. It was a very satisfying lunch experience. I would like to come back and try the hamburger next time. Thank you for the meal♪

I happened to see this new shop that opened during the corona era on my way home from work, and I ended up buying a cake when I saw it. It reminded me of the time when I used to buy 100 yen cakes from Parnassus at the Nankai station on my way home from high school. This time, I had a strawberry and raspberry mousse cake and a chocolate cake. I don't usually eat sweet things, but occasionally having cake is nice. Lately, when I finish work early, I treat myself to something sweet to refresh myself.

From March to April, there will be a series of new openings of commercial facilities and restaurants in the Kinki region. It's been a while since we've seen so many new openings in a row. Visited before 1 pm. The restaurant has a surprisingly deep interior from the entrance. There are 2-person tables near the entrance and several 4-person tables further inside. There are quite a few seats available. It was about 70% full when I arrived, and more customers kept coming in, maintaining the same level of occupancy. Each table has partitions set up. The restaurant seems to be open from 7:30 am to 8 pm. As expected from a cafe, they offer a lunch menu that changes daily and various options for omurice with different toppings. I ordered the daily special, which was a delicious hamburger steak served with rice and miso soup. The hamburger seemed to be prepared in bulk, but the sunny-side-up egg on top was cooked fresh in the kitchen. The service was excellent, and I had a pleasant time working there in the afternoon.

It's usually better not to order from the regular menu during lunchtime.

The food was delicious, but it took about 30 minutes from ordering to being served. Even though it was supposed to come with a salad, it never arrived. I had also ordered a drink to go with my meal, but it only arrived when I was halfway done eating, and it was lukewarm. I thought maybe they were busy so I stayed quiet, but when the salad never came and the bill was placed on the table, I finally pressed the bell to call a waiter. It took a while for one to come, and when they did, instead of apologizing for the wait, they asked if I had called them. The worst. I don't think I'll be going there again.
