On August 20, 2022, I stayed at a hot spring inn in Kyushu using a local discount package including one night stay with two meals. The atmosphere in the hot spring town was a bit quiet and felt a bit outdated. However, the hot spring itself was fantastic. For dinner, I had a bento box in my room. I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the colorful, delicious, and fresh ingredients. The Kanpachi (amberjack) in particular was incredibly fresh and left a strong impression.

Ryokan in Chikugo River Onsen. This is a ryokan where you can stay with your beloved dog, with a beautiful dog run and a nice outdoor foot bath. I have stayed here many times, but the food is disappointing. The kaiseki dinner seems to have one main dish from the local area, and on this day, it was three slices of local pork shabu-shabu meat. However, the food has been getting better over the years. The hot spring water is very good, so I hope they will put more effort into the meals without cutting corners.

Winter 2019 Kumamoto Tour! Stayed at Chikugo River Onsen! Couldn't find accommodation in Kumamoto, so decided to relax here! The bath is great, the hot spring quality is good, and the view is nice! Had dinner from a nearby izakaya and enjoyed beer in the room! Relaxed while enjoying the snacks provided in the room! Looking forward to breakfast!

This is a pet-friendly inn located in Ukiha City, Fukuoka Prefecture. I always travel with my beloved dog Moco, so I searched online and found this place. The inn is situated along the Chikugo River hot spring town, with many ryokans and hotels along the river. There is a large gateball venue near the inn, which used to be a river. It seems like a hot spring inn on a sandbank. They even have a foot bath for pets, haha. The sound of the river flowing right next to the room is very soothing. The area is said to be beautiful with autumn leaves in the fall. The sunset view from the outdoor bath at dusk was truly spectacular. The landlady's hot spring is indeed of excellent quality. It's a drinkable spring, so not only does it improve your skin, but it also promotes health from within. I could stay in there forever! The location is just perfect. I got a bit too excited leaning forward, but oops, I was naked... After enjoying the atmospheric outdoor bath, the staff prepared a room-service meal. It's a very reassuring service when you have your pet with you, allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal. The Oita beef steak was surprisingly tender and delicious. The spring-themed soup with sakura-scented mochi and plum tofu was a nice touch. I also enjoyed the local sake and dessert. The following morning, I had breakfast in the hall, where they used local fruits instead of lemon with salted mackerel. After the meal, we visited the nearby dog run and enjoyed a walk by the river. The calm and beautiful water surface on that day was truly stunning. I would love to visit again to experience the seasonal charm. The staff saw us off until they were out of sight, and we headed towards Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

I used this hotel twice in 2014, once in the summer and once in the winter. In the summer, I booked through Rakuten Travel and went alone for leisure purposes. In the winter, I went with my father and booked a plan that included breakfast and beer for under 5000 yen. Even when we went with two people, the total cost was under 10000 yen. The hot springs are great and the prices are unbelievably cheap. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you live near Fukuoka and are planning a trip to Kurokawa Onsen. The breakfast is delicious and even includes tuna sashimi. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

A cozy hot spring inn where you can stay with your pet, it has a relaxed and natural atmosphere. The hot spring water quality is excellent, suitable for drinking and even for skincare. There are four types of private baths available for a leisurely time. The food is average.
