The restaurant has about 8 seats, creating a quiet and cozy atmosphere. The chef prepares the dishes alone, so it's best to make a reservation. The menu is not extensive, but all the items are enticing. I decided to try some dishes that caught my eye. The appetizers included edamame, rolled omelette, mackerel sushi, and taro. The bonito tataki was made with fresh bonito, with a lean red meat that was refreshing and had no fishy smell. The garlic sauce was delicious, and the thick slices of bonito were a delight for bonito lovers like me. The boiled asparagus was lightly seasoned and sweet, with a perfect texture. The grilled skirt steak was unexpectedly good for a Japanese restaurant, with no gamey taste and a tender, lean meat that was easy to eat. It was served with hidden eggplant underneath. The tempura of white shrimp was crispy and succulent, a must-try for shrimp lovers. I heard that their lunch special, the beef skirt steak bowl, is famous, which explains why the skirt steak was so delicious. The best part was that the prices were surprisingly affordable. The quality of the food exceeded the price by far. I highly recommend this place for both lunch and dinner!

I enjoyed my meal in a cozy restaurant with a view of the open kitchen from the counter. The beef steak bowl was elegant and the special sauce paired perfectly with it, stimulating my appetite. The meat was tender and I quickly finished it. It was also easy for women to eat and we were satisfied.

While looking for a place to have lunch on the bridge, I came across a nice restaurant. I was hesitant about having steak in the middle of the day, but I decided to order the steak bowl (900 yen). The beef was tender, and before I knew it, I had finished the whole bowl. Since it's a Japanese restaurant, I think I'll try the fish next time.

I came here after searching for lunch options while on business at Ohashi. I heard that the "Gyuu Sagari Steak Don" is delicious. According to reviews, it's popular to line up even before the opening, so I arrived 10 minutes before opening. At that time, there was no wait, but later about 4 people arrived, and right after opening, the 8-seat counter was full. It seems to be a popular place indeed. The lunch menu has several options, but everyone ordered the "Gyuu Sagari Steak Don". The presentation is beautiful. You can choose the amount of rice, which is about a little more than a regular rice bowl. I chose a regular amount, but it was too much, so I should have gone for a smaller portion. The meat is rare, tender, and delicious. The sauce is slightly sweet. The shredded egg is beautiful and goes well with the meat and rice. There were "dried daikon radish simmered" and "takana" on the table, both good palate cleansers. The miso soup with fried tofu and seaweed was delicious, with a nice umami flavor. The counter with 8 seats offers tender and tasty meat in the donburi. For 900 yen, it's understandable why it's popular.

This popular restaurant is known for their Japanese cuisine, but their most popular menu item is actually a meat dish. Sometimes you need to eat meat to feel energized, so why not give it a try? The location is in Ohashi, Minami Ward, Fukuoka City, and they open at 11:25 on weekdays. When I arrived, there were already about 15 people waiting in line outside. I had done some research beforehand. The interior of the restaurant only has 8 counter seats, and after waiting for about 30 minutes, I was finally able to get a seat. The majority of the customers were young women, mostly couples or groups of women. I noticed that the only people dining alone were older men. I ordered the Beef Sagari Steak Donburi for 900 yen including tax. They offer a larger portion of rice upon request, but I opted for the regular size as I wasn't sure about the meat portion. This dish seemed to be the most popular choice. The owner couple in their 50s and their staff were friendly, with the owner wearing a casual kimono. The owner cooked the meat block on a frying pan and sliced it with a knife right in front of us. The bowl was filled with rice, and the wife's role was to decorate it with a tamagoyaki and 12 slices of sagari meat on top. The dish was drizzled with a light sauce that tasted like a soy sauce-based yakiniku sauce with a slight hint of acidity, possibly from apple. The meat was tender without any tough parts, making it easy to eat even for older customers. The miso soup with wakame and soft fried tofu was a bit on the lighter side but still enjoyable. The side dish of simmered napa cabbage served as a palate cleanser. This was my experience with the most popular lunch item. I recommend getting the extra rice for male customers, and I noticed that the young female customers were very serious about taking photos of their food!

The steak at this restaurant is a steal at 900 yen! The place is small with only 6 counter seats, but it's worth the wait. It's best to go around 12:30 to avoid long lines. The only downside is that the sauce is already on the dishes, so if you prefer to add it yourself, it might be a bit of a letdown. I recommend this place for solo diners. The miso soup is also delicious!

I wanted to eat ramen, but it was closed. So, I had no choice. I remembered this place on Tabelog and decided to go there. I entered with a middle-aged couple. "Three people?" the staff asked. How rude (laughs). We ordered the sagari steak. It's basically a sagari bowl, but the middle-aged wife ordered a sharp-tasting sashimi. The chef skillfully sliced it. After about 10 minutes, it arrived. Sagari-chan. I took a bite. Oh? It doesn't have much flavor. Maybe it's because of COVID? No, that's not it. I continued eating and realized that it's not that it lacks flavor, but rather they didn't add unnecessary seasoning. It's a strategy to let the natural sweetness and cooking of the meat shine through. Interesting! I want to try the sea bream next time.

April 2021, I revisited a restaurant that I had been wanting to go back to. It's a hidden gem-like Japanese restaurant near Ohashi Station. They only open for lunch on weekdays, so I haven't had the chance to visit often. Finally, on a day when I had a weekday off, I decided to go. I drove there. It had been 1 year and 7 months since my last visit. Since there's no parking at the restaurant, I parked at a nearby coin parking and walked to the restaurant. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:20, 10 minutes before opening. There were already about 4 people in line, including a group of young women. I had to wait in line. After about 10 minutes, we were let into the small restaurant with only counter seats. The 8-seat restaurant quickly filled up. The interior was clean and beautiful. I sat at an available counter seat and looked at the menu. All the dishes looked appealing, but since it had been a while, I decided to order the Beef Sagari Steak Don. They offer a choice of rice portion for free, and I chose the large portion. Before I sat down, small side dishes were already placed. Most customers were ordering the Beef Sagari Steak Don. I waited in anticipation for my order. It arrived in about 10 minutes, looking beautifully presented. Since I ordered the large portion, it was quite filling. The first bite of the Beef Sagari Steak Don was delicious. The beef was cooked rare and incredibly tender. The sauce was subtly flavorful. The shredded omelet was neatly arranged, and the daikon radish added a nice touch of color. It truly was a Japanese cuisine experience. The miso soup was also tasty with a delicate broth. It didn't have the typical sweetness of Kyushu miso. The ingredients included fried tofu and seaweed. The side dishes were pickles and simmered dishes, overall mildly seasoned. The bamboo shoot was crispy and delicious. Ordering the large portion of the Beef Sagari Steak Don was definitely the right choice for the satisfying volume. I enjoyed every bite and finished it quickly. It was still as delicious as before. Perhaps my previous rating was too low. It's a shame they only open for lunch on weekdays, making it hard to visit. By the time I left, there was already a line forming outside the restaurant, even though it was still before noon. Many customers were ordering the steak don, but the fish set meal that others were eating also looked appetizing. It seems you can have free rice refills with set meals, which is rare for a Japanese restaurant. I'd like to come back for dinner sometime. With only 8 seats, it might be best to make a reservation to ensure a visit. This time it cost me 900 yen, which I think is reasonable. It was delicious. I will come back again.

On a regular weekday afternoon, there is a popular restaurant with a line forming even before it opens. It has a counter only, with a dignified atmosphere emanating from the kitchen where deer antler knives hang, along with well-used knives like the Masao and Kamagata. The most popular item seems to be the beef steak bowl. I ordered it and it came with lightly seasoned simmered dish, pickles, and a delicious miso soup made with white miso, seaweed, and hot tofu. The miso soup is really good. The bowl arrived quickly, with the steak cooked quite rare but with a nicely seared surface, giving off a delicious aroma. The grated sauce is placed between the rice and the meat. This lunch alone may not fully showcase the true essence of this restaurant, it seems to be saying "come back another time to enjoy some drinks as well."

Located about a 7-minute walk from the station, Takamoto is a Japanese restaurant with only counter seats. This time, I visited on the day and left it to the chef's choice. The dishes were beautifully arranged with attention to detail, and I had a happy time both looking at and eating them. I was able to enjoy a variety of seasonal ingredients. I also tried the recommended sake, and each one was satisfying, with the owner explaining about them. I had a great time throughout and was very satisfied. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again and would love to come back if given the chance.

This is a small Japanese cuisine restaurant that I had been eyeing since coming to Fukuoka last year. It is highly praised by famous reviewers in Fukuoka. Since they only open for lunch on weekdays, I didn't have many opportunities to visit. However, I finally got the chance to go on a weekday when I had the day off. I took the train to get there and arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 am, right after they opened. The interior was clean and there were already three customers seated at the counter. I ordered the popular beef steak bowl that the reviewers had raved about, with an extra serving of rice. The food arrived quickly and it looked appetizing. The beef was tender and cooked rare, the sauce was flavorful but not overpowering, and the presentation was beautiful with shredded egg and daikon radish adding color. The miso soup was also delicious with a rich broth and various toppings. I enjoyed every bite and was glad I ordered the extra rice for a satisfying meal. It was a hidden gem of a restaurant that I almost didn't want to share with others. By the time I left, there was already a line forming outside. I wish they were open for lunch on weekends too. I saw other customers enjoying dishes like sea bream tea rice and fish set meals, which also looked tempting. I would like to come back for dinner sometime. The price was reasonable at 850 yen, but I heard they will be raising prices starting October. Nonetheless, it was worth it and I will definitely be back.

I was attracted to the Harami steak bowl and decided to visit. I ordered 1.5 times the amount of meat and extra rice. The sauce was a bit light, but the miso soup was definitely delicious as it is a Japanese restaurant. The side dishes were also excellent.

When you go to Ohashi, I highly recommend going there. It's always crowded, but the turnover is good, so I recommend it.
