Located on the B2 floor of the Osaka Fukuokaseimei Building in Umeda, the restaurant "Steak & Grill Romantei" opened in January 2021. "Steak & Grill Romantei" is the first store, which is a relocation of the Shinsaibashi store. I visited the restaurant on a Saturday just after opening at around 11 am, and there was only one customer inside at that time. During lunchtime, they offer a variety of bowl menu items such as hitsumabushi and steak rice at reasonable prices, while during dinner time, they have their specialty ripe meat steak as well as meat tapas to enjoy with wine. Since it was just after opening, I was tempted to try the "Black Wagyu Harami Hitsumabushi," which is limited to 3-4 servings per day, but I ended up ordering the "Nikura Don" that I originally wanted. [Nikura Don (1.5 times more meat)] 1749 yen (tax included) I ordered a regular portion with free extra rice. Soup was also included. The meat is usually 120g, but I ordered 1.5 times more, making it 180g. The lean meat was tender and not dry, with a generous amount of black pepper and a light soy-based sauce that enhances the umami of the meat. Sweet and tender onions were hidden under the meat, complementing it perfectly. The salmon roe added a flavorful accent, making the dish very delicious. This time, with the salmon roe, the price was somewhat higher, but the menu is mainly around 1000 yen, making it very reasonably priced and easy to use. Luckily, it was happy hour, with sours for 290 yen and draft beer for 390 yen. They even let me order just before 7 pm. The appetizer platter was okay, but the crab cream croquette was delicious. The hamburger topped with cheddar cheese was very meaty and satisfying (1200 yen). The assorted five flavors dish allowed me to enjoy a variety of tastes, but some were a bit salty. However, my target today is their Napolitan dish. I ordered a Johnny Walker highball and Napolitan, and after a short wait, the Napolitan arrived. It was served on a hot plate, with generous chunks of ham, well-cooked onions and green peppers. The noodles were thick and had a satisfying texture, with a good balance of ketchup flavor. The portion size might be a bit small, but it was just right for me at the moment (perhaps due to being on a diet?). Overall, it was decent but not particularly outstanding. It's more on the average side, so it may not leave a lasting impression.

I visited alone around 13:30 on a weekday. There was only one other customer. They were still serving lunch. There are counter seats and two-person table seats, and I was told to sit wherever I liked. I sat at the counter and was told it was okay to put my belongings on the chair next to me. There was also a basket for bags. They seem to have a lot of sets with hamburgers. The basic sauce is demi-glace. I ordered the following: Hamburg and shrimp fry set for 1100 yen (tax included) and a mini salad for 200 yen (tax included), without rice. It arrived in about 5 to 10 minutes after ordering. The hamburger had shrimp fry and tartar sauce on top. The hamburger was large but not very thick. It was more about being able to eat a lot rather than being juicy. There was black pepper and garlic chips on the table, and it was nice that the garlic chips were unlimited! The shrimp fry was firm and delicious. The salad was surprisingly fresh and tasty. However, it seems that they have now revamped their menu to include various hamburgers. I ordered the "Demiglace Hamburger". Originally, I chose the basic "Hamburger Classico", but they were out of that sauce, so I received the Demiglace sauce instead. Food & Taste: 3.5 The "Demiglace Hamburger" comes with soup and rice (or bread). It was served in a small sizzling frying pan. The hamburger, while thick as usual, was quite large in size. It was a coarse ground type weighing 230 grams, providing a satisfying feeling. It was accompanied by grilled cabbage, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes hidden under the meat. The Demiglace sauce had a rich flavor with a slightly thick texture. It was just the right thickness even when the cabbage was soaked in it. I enjoyed it until the last bite. Service: 3.3 The staff provided polite service. They offered the use of a neighboring chair for storing belongings. There was a courteous announcement regarding the sauce change. Extra large rice serving was complimentary. Refills seemed to be charged. They served lunch until late. As I was leaving, I received a single piece of candy ramune. Atmosphere: 3.1 The interior was a mix between a Western-style restaurant and a bar, likely appealing to younger customers. I didn't notice upon entering, but the lighting seemed to be quite strong warm-colored. The background music was mainly lively Western music with a slightly loud volume. There were about three other customers when I arrived. Since it was close to the last order time, there were no new customers. Cost Performance: 3.0 The "Demiglace Hamburger" was priced at 1100 yen. Extra large rice serving was complimentary. As mentioned earlier, I was charged 1000 yen for ordering the Classico. However, I am evaluating the cost performance based on the original price. Overall, it seems to cater to a wide range of customers who want to enjoy meat easily.

I went to dinner with a coworker at a place that seemed like an Italian restaurant. The other customers were drinking wine, but we just had our meal. There was a rice set menu available, and it was delicious. The hamburger was especially tasty, and we finished everything. Next time, I want to order a meat dish. Whity's Roman Tei has been renovated and reopened since March. I had lunch there. I didn't feel any changes in the interior, but the menu has been completely renewed. They no longer offer bento boxes for takeout, and the prices have gone up, probably due to the current situation. I added a mini salad to my 120-gram harami steak. You can add as much garlic chips as you like from the table.

After work. I didn't plan on drinking that much, but it was all-you-can-drink. The meat was tender, as expected from Roman-tei. The spare ribs were quite voluminous for one person (I ended up eating them alone since my companion didn't like fatty food). Maybe it's better for around three women to share. The potatoes were only half done, so I just said, "For now!" and they brought me a fresh batch. Even though it was only half, getting something hot and fresh right away makes it worth the wait and it's a nice service gesture.

The meat is delicious. It goes well with wine! I wanted to eat beef, so I ordered the Triple Roman Rice (with extra potatoes). I chose the regular size, but with the potatoes, it was just right. The taste was delicious, and personally, I think it's good value for money. The location is also convenient, so definitely check it out.

If coming from Higashi Umeda, go towards East Mall and it's between Mitsuwa. After some deliberation, I decided to go with the Triple Roman Rice. It had lean meat, harami, and roast beef with sautéed onions underneath. I couldn't tell which meat was which, haha. When I broke the egg, I felt like there was a bit too little sauce, which was disappointing. I wished it had more flavor, haha. The meat was tender though. The beef bone soup was also good. Steak & Grill Romantei (Fukoku Palette, Kita-ku, Osaka) It's been a while since I went down to the basement of the Fukoku Life Building. There are only a few shops, but they are unique and interesting. Even though there may be changes in the shops, unique ones always seem to be there. I haven't been here for a while, so I don't really remember what kind of shops were here before, but there is a place called "Romantei" that serves meat bowls. Romantei? I've heard of it before, and when I looked it up, I found out that I've been to the shops in Shinsaibashi and Osaka Station. This was my first visit to the Fukoku location. The visuals were very appealing, so I decided to go in. They had a variety of meats such as lean steak, seared kalbi, harami steak, and roast beef, and you had to start by figuring out what kind of lineup they had. In cases like this, I usually start by screening based on prices, as the prices ranged from just under 1000 yen to over 1000 yen, and my feelings are different depending on whether it's under or over 1000 yen. If there's something that looks good for under 1000 yen, I usually won't spend over 1000 yen. So, I decided to choose from the options of Lean Steak & Seared Kalbi, Lean Steak, and Seared Kalbi. This way, I could enjoy a variety of flavors. By the way, it seemed that getting a large portion of rice was the same price. Also, increasing the amount of meat by 1.5 times would cost an additional 300-350 yen, as written on the menu. I'm not a big eater, so I stuck with the regular portions. Maybe it's still a hidden gem, or maybe it's due to the layout, but to be honest, it was empty, so the food came out quickly. What made me happy was that I didn't feel like the bowl was small when the meat bowl was served, which is common in these types of restaurants. Well, compared to the size of the bowl, the food was stacked up in the middle, but that was because I ordered a normal amount of rice, and the amount of meat was visibly large, which was nice. Is this really 120g?! It's enough to make you doubt your eyes. The cooking was just right, the meat was tender, the seasoning was good, and it's the kind of place I would come back to. Satisfied, I got up from my seat and went to the register, where there was a self-service coffee corner. "Would you like some coffee? It's complimentary." Of course, I gladly accepted. Red meat steak rice with 1.5 times the amount of meat + raw egg for 1430 yen. Located in the Tomioka Life Building, this restaurant offers meat bowls, meat toppings, and meat set meals. On the 29th of each month, the 1.5 times meat portion is free, so I used to visit the store in Shin-Osaka often. I wanted to eat a hearty amount of meat after a long time, so I decided to visit the Umeda branch for the first time. Although I wanted to order the harami steak, I resisted as harami has a high fat content. Instead, I opted for the red meat steak rice, which was covered with rare-cooked red meat, making the rice completely invisible. Despite having very little marbling, the meat was incredibly tender and moist, and very delicious. When mixed with the steak sauce and egg yolk, the rice disappeared quickly. If you want to eat a lot of delicious meat at a reasonable price, this is the place to go without any doubt.

I finally tried Romantei, a restaurant I've been curious about for a while, for lunch. The menu is extensive and everything looks delicious. After much deliberation, I chose the Harami and seared Kalbi. The meat was very tender. Under the meat, there was sweet and savory onions that added a nice accent and made it even more delicious. The wakame soup was light and refreshing. I like that you can adjust the amount of salad, shrimp fry, or meat to suit your appetite. It was easy to get a table during lunchtime on the weekend, but I imagine it might be more challenging during the lunch rush. It's a great place to enjoy delicious meat at a reasonable price. I look forward to trying a different menu next time.

Located directly connected from Higashi-Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line in the Fukuoka Life Building basement, this place is perfect for those craving delicious meat. I tried the Nikura Don, which comes with ikura, meat, and a luxurious bowl for 1290 yen. You can also add extra ikura and meat for 690 yen, and top it off with a raw egg yolk for 100 yen. It's a truly indulgent bowl! The meat is delicious on its own, but even better when dipped in the special sauce provided by the restaurant. You can also mix the raw egg yolk into the bowl for a heavenly experience. The fact that you can get a free extra large serving of rice is a nice touch, and the service from the staff is wonderful.
