- Order: Beef tongue set meal for 1,800 yen (Garlic rice substitution +100 yen), Tomato sour for 290 yen.
- Review: One Dining, known for "One Karubi" and other restaurants, has opened a solo yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant in Umeda. The interior has a calm atmosphere with dim lighting, and even though it's a "solo karubi" place, there are many groups of two. In addition to the counter, there are tables for solo diners. Each table has a server where you can enjoy lemon sour all-you-can-drink for 800 yen for 60 minutes. Orders are placed using tablets provided at the seats.
The lunch set meals all looked delicious, but I chose the beef tongue set meal for its uniqueness. The main tongue options are: Negi-mamire Shio Tan (salted tongue with lots of green onions), Jyou Shio Tan (premium salted tongue), Atsu-kiri Toro Shio Tan (thickly sliced fatty salted tongue), and Gokujou Atsu-kiri 3.5cm Moto Tan (premium thick 3.5cm core tongue). The Negi-mamire tongue seemed like the Tan-Suji part, thinly sliced but with a good chew. The Atsu-kiri Toro Shio Tan was thickly sliced with a balanced flavor. The core tongue was small but served as a solid chunk, grilled firmly on the outside and cut with scissors. The center was pink, bursting with umami when bitten into.
The set also included Com Tan soup, kimchi, namul, and the delicious garlic rice I upgraded for a fee. It was slightly oily but packed with plenty of thinly sliced beef and a strong garlic flavor. Even though it's a rice dish, it could also be a great drinking snack. I highly recommend upgrading to this.
Just like at "One Karubi," the quality of the meat and the staff were excellent. I think this place will become quite popular.
