Enjoying a drink in the bustling downtown area of Hakata! As an old man from Hokkaido, when it comes to downtown areas, I think of Susukino. Hakata is in Nakasu, right? By the way, where does Nakasu start and end? I have visited Fukuoka and Hakata quite a few times, but I don't have many memories of going to Nakasu. The restaurant I visited this time is located in Nakasu, but more towards the outskirts rather than the glittering downtown area. It seems to be in a back alley or somewhere in between. The owner seems to be a sumo fan, as there are lots of support goods and information about the Kyushu Basho inside the building. Upon entering the building, we were directed to the reception where we were taken to individual private rooms via an elevator. I had to take off my shoes and sit on a carpeted floor with a table and chairs, which was comfortable. The seating area was a bit cramped, but it was well laid out. We ordered the Fugu and Mizutaki course, which included various dishes like Fugu sashimi, Fugu tempura, Fugu shumai, Mizutaki, and dessert. The meal was not all-you-can-drink, but each drink was charged separately, with a service charge of 10%. Despite the cost, I couldn't resist trying Fugu in Kyushu. The meal started with appetizers, followed by Fugu sashimi, which was delicious. The Fugu tempura was large and satisfying, while the Fugu shumai was flavorful. The Mizutaki was gentle in flavor, and although it didn't fully satisfy me, it was still delicious. We enjoyed the meal with drinks and ended the evening with a warm porridge. Overall, it was a high-end restaurant suitable for business gatherings or special occasions, but a bit pricey for everyday dining. Nevertheless, the concept of serving Kyushu Fugu at this price point worked well, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. After getting pleasantly drunk, I wondered where to go next. Everyone seemed so young... Well, time for me to move on to a different place. Cheers!
