I stayed at Hodoai no Yado in Fukuoka Prefecture. It cost around 14,000 yen per person for one night with two meals included. When I arrived, they welcomed me with matcha tea and traditional Japanese sweets. The matcha tea was not too bitter and easy to drink, and the sweets were delicious. For dinner, I chose the Fukuoka's delicious food course. It included sashimi, simmered vegetables, motsunabe (offal hot pot), black wagyu steak, kashiwa rice, dessert, and more. The motsunabe was so filling that I couldn't finish it, and the black wagyu steak was incredibly tender and tasty! The staff kindly offered to make onigiri with the leftover kashiwa rice. The dining area was like a private room, which made the meal very peaceful. For breakfast, I also had a private room. Although I couldn't see the view from the window, the breakfast was half buffet style with rice, miso soup, and several side dishes prepared. The buffet had both Japanese and Western options, including tamagoyaki, natto, mentaiko, pickles, salad, yogurt, pancakes, cakes, and fruits. The cakes were especially delicious, particularly the matcha cake and strawberry pound cake! I asked if they sold them, but unfortunately they did not. I was so happy to find such tasty desserts for breakfast. The price was reasonable, and it was a great inn. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
