At lunchtime, I tried the motsunabe here, which seems hard to get in the evening. They have counter seats with a pot prepared, and the service is very polite. Miso seems to be the recommended choice, but I ordered my favorite soy sauce. Soon, a beautifully arranged motsunabe with tall leeks in the center arrived. After simmering for a bit, I sipped the soup, which had delicious soy tofu. The burdock and mushrooms added flavor, while the cabbage absorbed the broth nicely. The motsu had a chewy, juicy taste - no wonder it's popular. Lastly, I finished by swirling champon noodles in the broth, enjoying every last bit.

When I came to Fukuoka, I made sure to try motsunabe, so I came to this restaurant for lunch. I arrived at 12:30. Even though it was a weekday, there was a line forming. I waited in the direct sunlight, sweating. After about 30 minutes of waiting, it was finally my turn. It was so hot... Motsunabe is available from two portions, and you can choose from three flavors: miso, soy sauce, or spicy. I like spicy, so I chose spicy motsu. I ordered sesame mackerel, but they ran out of mackerel and offered sesame amberjack instead. I was fine with that, so I ordered it as well. The sesame amberjack was served first. It was delicious with plenty of sesame and a sweet and savory sauce. Maybe mackerel would have been lighter? But the amberjack was also delicious. Soon after, the motsunabe arrived. Except for the leeks, everything was already cooked and ready to eat. The motsu was chewy and delicious! It melted in my mouth. The soup in the pot was also delicious with its sweet and savory flavor. We added curly noodles to finish, and my companion was delighted, saying it was the best! They enjoyed how well the soup and noodles went together. I was too full to eat much, but it was indeed delicious. The regular miso nabe also looked tasty, so I would like to try it next time I come to Hakata. Thank you for the meal!

Maedaya at Hakata Station is a popular specialty shop for motsunabe (tripe hot pot). Lunch reservations are only available at 11:00. I made a reservation and it was a great decision, as customers were lining up one after another. The motsunabe is priced at 1,694 yen per serving. The most popular flavor is miso, so I tried that. I enjoy motsunabe and have had it at various places, but the texture of the tripe here was the best I've ever had. The miso flavor was also excellent. The staff provided exceptional service and were very friendly, even to children. For the finishing touch, I opted for the recommended curly noodles instead of champon noodles. They were delicious. Many people were having zosui (rice soup) as the last dish, so I'm looking forward to trying that next time.

At 7:30, there were about 4 groups waiting outside, but we had made a reservation so we were seated quickly. We were even able to choose our seats, which I thought was considerate towards customers. The staff were attentive and easy to call over. It was my first time at a motsunabe restaurant, but the staff told us to start with the soup, which made it easy to enjoy. Most importantly, the motsunabe here was incredibly delicious, making me want to come back again! I was recommended to come here by a friend, and now I want to recommend it to someone else too! We went to this restaurant to have miso motsu hot pot. About a week ago, I checked on Tabelog and found that reservations were fully booked. When we called to confirm, they said that there were a few available seats for the day, and we could come in if there was space. My husband arrived around 6:00 PM and there were seats available, so we were seated right away. I arrived 30 minutes later. We were told we had a 2-hour time limit, but we finished our meal in about an hour. We were served a complimentary dish of rice topped with ikura, and I ordered Goma Saba, although they were out of mackerel that day and offered kanpachi instead, which was delicious. We ordered two servings of miso motsu hot pot and two servings of shime no men. Everything was very tasty.

I went to the Hakata motsunabe restaurant Maeda-ya in Hakata. It's about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station. I thought that hot pot might not be popular in the sweltering heat, but I was wrong. There were about 10 people lined up before the 11 am opening. I hurried inside and ordered the recommended miso motsunabe. For the finishing noodles, I was recommended the curly noodles. It's nice that you can order just one serving. It came out in about 10 minutes. Other than the garlic chives, everything was cooked through and ready in a few minutes. The serving size was satisfying for one person, so I'll try the side menu next time. I tried it right away and it was even more delicious than I expected. The soup in particular was excellent, and the combination of motsu and vegetables was perfect! I'm hooked on this. Next time, I want to try the soy sauce flavor and I also want to visit the main store. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When you come to Hakata, you must try motsunabe! Motsunabe in the middle of summer is amazing with beer. I usually don't eat horumon, but the horumon here was surprisingly delicious and sweet. The miso soup was also excellent. My trip to Fukuoka was the best! I finished off with ramen and didn't leave a drop of soup. I want to come back again.

Visited for lunch during a trip to Fukuoka. Arrived before 12 o'clock, so we were able to enter without waiting in line. The staff kindly recommended menu items. We ordered the recommended miso motsunabe. Unfortunately, they were out of sesame mackerel, so we ordered sesame amberjack instead. The sesame amberjack arrived quickly. The tender and firm texture with a good bite paired well with the condiments and sesame. It went well with drinks. While enjoying the appetizer, the motsunabe arrived. The well-seasoned and flavorful motsu was truly exquisite. Finished off with ramen. It was a wonderful restaurant experience.

Visited with a colleague. My colleague said it was the best motsunabe they had ever eaten. The motsu, made from 100% domestic beef, was indeed tender with a nice chewy texture, yet light and not too heavy. I chose the miso flavor as recommended, and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful without being too salty, and all the ingredients like cabbage, garlic chives, burdock root, konjac, bamboo shoots, shimeji mushrooms, and tofu were fresh and tasty. For the finishing touch, we had curly noodles which had a satisfying texture. I heard that if you choose soy sauce flavor, the noodles turn into champon. It's impressive how well thought out everything is at this motsunabe restaurant. Definitely planning on visiting again. The side dishes of sesame mackerel and marinated tomatoes were also delicious.

It seemed to be a popular restaurant, as there was already a line of several people waiting before opening. I was a bit hesitant because I'm not a fan of offal, but I ended up loving it! The drinks were also delicious, and I had a great time enjoying a nice moment during my trip to Fukuoka.

The perfect way to end a meal of wagyu motsunabe is with Hakata-style champon noodles! Hakata Motsunabe Maedaya Hakata Store was featured on a TV show, so it's quite famous and understandably delicious. The restaurant is known for its stylish presentation with paper bags and unique motsunabe bowls. I made a reservation beforehand due to its popularity and visited the narrow establishment near Hakata Station. Even on a weekday, the place was packed with reserved guests. We ordered the most popular miso-flavored motsunabe for three people, along with sesame mackerel, horse sashimi, homemade mentaiko, and potato salad. The motsunabe arrived 15 minutes after ordering, so we enjoyed some other appetizers in the meantime. I started with a draft beer and then switched to a highball when the motsunabe arrived. The meal began with eel-pressed sushi, which seems to be trending. It was delicious, but I wonder if it's popular everywhere. The sesame mackerel (from Tsushima) was top-notch, with thick slices providing a satisfying bite. The horse sashimi from Kumamoto Prefecture was simply delicious. The homemade mentaiko (from Hokkaido) was moist and packed with the rich flavor of cod roe. Unfortunately, there's no picture of the potato salad, but trust me, it was tasty with a generous amount of mayonnaise. The highlight of the meal was the wagyu motsunabe in miso flavor, featuring tender and chewy offal in abundance. The miso broth was consistently delicious. For the finishing touch, I recommend Hakata-style champon noodles, although it's also delicious with soy sauce. Apologies for the lack of pictures. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a famous restaurant in Hakata that serves motsunabe for lunch. The walls were covered with autographs of celebrities. I ordered the miso flavor, which is the most popular, and the texture of the motsu was amazing. It was firm and flavorful, without any unpleasant smell. The vegetables were plentiful, and adding curled noodles at the end was delicious. Even when cooked al dente or fully cooked, it tasted great.

The table was small and close to the neighboring seats, so it didn't feel like a place where you could linger for too long. Therefore, I left after 50 minutes of entering the restaurant. The horse sashimi, white intestine, and motsu in the motsu nabe were fresh, and it felt like it would be difficult to find this quality in Tokyo. (The squid was just average.) The motsu nabe portion for one person was 1,500 yen and had great value! This time, I ordered the classic miso flavor, but next time I want to try the soy sauce and spicy motsu nabe.

I went to the main store before it opened at 11 o'clock, but they weren't serving lunch, so I moved to the Hakata store. I arrived a little after 11 o'clock and was able to enter smoothly. It wasn't crowded. The restaurant is small, with counter seats facing the wall, but there was enough space between tables. Shortly after ordering, the beef motsu arrived. It was crunchy and delicious. It was nice to change the taste with yuzu pepper and chili pepper. The chili pepper was a delayed reaction and quite a surprise. I thought the motsu nabe would take a while, but it arrived before I finished the beef motsu. The soup had a slightly sweet impression. It was my first time having motsu nabe, but the staff told me when to eat, so I felt at ease. The motsu had a good texture and was delicious. I kept eating more and more, and in the end, only the vegetables were left, so I need to pace myself better next time. I wanted to add more motsu, but when I saw the price... The vegetables included leeks, cabbage, enoki mushrooms, and ginger (I think it was shredded). The cabbage was delicious. It was quite a lot, and by the end, I was full. I thought it would be nice to have rice or something, but the optional rice seemed to be for porridge... Next time, I want to try the spicy miso.

When it comes to motsunabe in Hakata, Maedaya is a well-known spot. Their rich soup base is flavorful and delicious, making you want to drink it over and over again. The motsu is tender and exquisite! Unfortunately, the sesame mackerel I was looking forward to was sold out, but the sesame amberjack was also delicious enough! Fukuoka truly has a lot of delicious gourmet food to offer, making you want to hop from one place to another! Definitely finish off with some noodles!

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant! I used to dislike offal because of its strong smell, but the offal in this restaurant was delicious without any unpleasant odor, and it was chewy. The miso-flavored soup was so delicious that I wanted to take it home! I'm hooked on offal hot pot now!

On a regular day at 11:19 am, there were 2 people waiting outside as the restaurant was full. By 11:30 am, there were 20 people waiting. The previous customers had not left yet. Maybe because it's a hot pot, the turnover is slow. At 11:40 am, there were 30 people waiting. The previous customers were still there. From 11:45 am, more and more previous customers started leaving. This time might be the best. I ordered the miso motsu nabe for 1540 yen, sesame mackerel for 980 yen, and Hakata curly noodles for 340 yen. Unfortunately, there was no sesame mackerel available, so I changed it to vinegar motsu for 680 yen. At 11:51 am, the vinegar motsu arrived, thinly sliced motsu with a little vinegar. It goes well with the provided yuzu pepper. The miso motsu nabe arrived with neatly arranged chives, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, chives, motsu, tofu, and bamboo shoots. Ah, delicious motsu nabe. Personally, I like the miso flavor. I added the curly noodles as a finishing touch and left feeling full. Thank you for the meal.

Last time I tried the miso flavor, but this time I tried the soy sauce flavor. The vinegar tripe was really good. I love it. The sesame mackerel I had in Kagoshima might have some competition. It was delicious with a sweet sauce and myoga. Is it lighter than the miso flavor hot pot? There were plenty of vegetables, so I added more tripe because I was so hungry. I couldn't even finish it all. Since I came for the tripe, I prioritized that over finishing the meal. Personally, I prefer the miso flavor. It's hard to get a reservation if you wait until the last minute, so make sure to book early.

It was really delicious! The motsu was chewy and juicy with each bite releasing a burst of flavor! Pairing it with beer or lemon sour is heavenly! The course also included dishes like conger eel sushi and sesame amberjack, all of which were exquisite! I was also happy to receive a sticker on my way out!
