We entered the restaurant with three people around 9 pm. The speed of serving the motsunabe was quite fast, and we really enjoyed the smell until the green onions on top became soft. The flavor was well-seasoned with soy sauce, and we could enjoy it without getting tired of the broth. I definitely want to visit again when I come to Fukuoka.

I stopped by "Motsunabe Waraku" during my solo trip to Hakata. I was drawn in by the stylish curtain at the entrance. The lunchtime lasts until 3 pm, which is convenient for late lunches. The restaurant has two floors with 60 spacious seats. I sat at the counter on the first floor and enjoyed a relaxing meal. I started with a toast with a chu-hi! I ordered a set that included a luxurious appetizer with motsunabe on this day. The price was 2500 yen, which was great value. The appetizers, such as horse sashimi, mentaiko, and vinegar motsu, were perfect for drinking. The beautiful red horse sashimi, the elegant spiciness of mentaiko, and the juicy vinegar motsu all raised my spirits. I paired the meal with a sake called "Niwano Uguisu." Then came the main dish, motsunabe! It was filled with plenty of vegetables like leeks and cabbage. The sweetness was brought out by cooking it slowly. Once the vegetables became tender, it was ready to eat. The chewy and juicy motsu, along with the flavorful soup, was irresistible. The rich flavor is addictive. I enjoyed the meal with a sake called "Tanaka Rokujugo." Of course, I finished with champon noodles. The motsunabe and champon noodles went well with the sake, and I kept enjoying my drinks. The champon noodles were delicious with plenty of sesame for added flavor. I had a great time savoring delicious Hakata cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. With plenty of drinks, I left the restaurant fully satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I ordered a lunch set. The mozuku was delicious, but the horse sashimi had a bit of a smell. It was good that there was an English menu. Being at Hakata Station, I got the impression that there were many customers from overseas, including Korea.

I felt like eating some hearty motsu (offal) stew, so I visited the motsu nabe restaurant called Waraku near the hotel where I was staying. It was past 8 PM on a Sunday, but there were already a few groups on the second floor, so we were seated right away. We ordered two servings of the Motsu Nabe Miso flavor for 1620 yen. The vegetables piled high in the pot softened as they cooked. The motsu was small in size and surprisingly had a light flavor, not the rich and heavy taste I was expecting, but it was still delicious. We also added Champon noodles for an extra 300 yen to finish off our meal. It was a satisfying way to end the day! (^ν^)

When it comes to Hakata, you think of motsunabe! Yes, I was able to dine at a famous Hakata motsunabe restaurant (solo). The place was bustling with reservations. Since I had an hour before my reservation, I was seated at the counter and ordered motsunabe (soy sauce flavor), stewed beef tripe, and sesame mackerel (recommended by the manager), along with a beer. First, the stewed beef tripe arrived. The balance of vinegar and texture was amazing. Next, the motsunabe was served. The manager gave me advice on how to enjoy it while I waited, and then the sesame mackerel arrived. The mackerel had no fishy smell and paired well with the beer. Finally, the motsunabe arrived. The slightly rich broth with vegetables soaked in dashi was delicious! I added champon at the end and was able to enjoy it all in an hour. I would love to bring my family here next time. My friend from Tokyo visited Fukuoka and wanted to eat motsunabe, so we went to this restaurant. We ordered the Dontaku course with all-you-can-drink option. The course includes not only motsunabe but also other Kyushu specialties, making it a great choice for visitors from other prefectures. We chose the miso flavor for the motsunabe, which was rich and flavorful with a strong garlic taste. My friend loved it so much that they said they wanted to eat it again the next day. They also wanted to try horse meat, so we ordered that as well. It was fresh and the yukke sauce was delicious. My friend was impressed by their first time trying horse meat.

It includes various parts like stomach and liver. The cabbage and garlic chives soaked in the motsu fat are delicious too! - Gomasaba (Sesame Mackerel): Fresh and tasty! - Koimari Zen Junmai Daiginjo (Saga): Dry and refreshing. Delicious! - Toichi Kurobin Junmai Ginjo (Saga): Sweet.

The restaurant featured in the guidebook that caught my attention was a unique place that serves motsunabe with 90% small intestines and 10% other hormones, not just all small intestines. The most popular flavor is soy sauce, but since my family prefers miso, we ordered the miso flavor. The lunch set comes with small side dishes and a shime (finishing dish) along with the motsunabe, at a price almost the same as ordering motsunabe alone, making it a great deal for lunch. We also added horse sashimi to our lunch set. The small side dishes were vinegar motsu, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and bean sprout namul, and they were incredibly delicious. Not too heavy, just really tasty! You can have as many dishes as you want. The horse sashimi was thick and fresh, with no hint of being frozen like in some places in Tokyo. And then, the star of the show, the motsunabe. At first, it had a subtle miso flavor, and as it simmered, the sweetness of the vegetables and hormones emerged, making it very juicy and even more delicious! The thick noodles for the finishing touch were great at soaking up the broth. It went really well with alcohol, and we left feeling completely satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On weekends, I made a reservation for lunch at 12 o'clock and visited the restaurant. I ordered the motsunabe set meal. As a complimentary dish, I had vinegar motsu, bean sprout namul, and mentaiko. It was my first time trying vinegar motsu, and it was delicious. I chose the soy sauce base for the motsunabe. The motsu was rich, so eating it with soy sauce made it a bit refreshing. The burdock vegetables were very tasty. The champon noodles at the end were just the right amount.

I chose the 3500 yen course, and the motsunabe was delicious with both shoyu and miso flavors. Other dishes were also tasty. However, there was a strange rule that you couldn't order beer in a pitcher for the all-you-can-drink option, so I ended up ordering two beers separately.

About a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station, this renowned restaurant also has a branch in Hakata. Among the top motsunabe restaurants, they offer a wide variety of side dishes at reasonable prices. They have sesame mackerel, raw heart, raw horse meat, as well as mentaiko, vinegar motsu, fried chicken, and dumplings, all at affordable prices. I ended up ordering too much because everything looked so tempting! The motsunabe itself is incredibly delicious, especially the miso flavor. I highly recommend it to those from out of town. Unlike other top restaurants, it's relatively easy to make a reservation here. Just be aware that they strictly limit seating to 2 hours, so if you want to leisurely enjoy your meal or drinks, you'll need to plan accordingly.

I have been there a few times, and decided to go again because I had a coupon for accommodation. I chose the Yamasakasa course this time, which I had never tried before, and it turned out to be the right choice. It was satisfying with a good amount of food, and it was delicious.

I visited this restaurant for lunch for the first time. It's close to my place, but I never had the chance to try their motsunabe (tripe hot pot) for lunch before. It was past 1 o'clock when I arrived, and there were a few groups of customers on the upper floor. It seemed like there were also tourists dining here. I ordered the 1500 yen motsunabe set lunch. The namul (Korean seasoned vegetables), spicy cod roe, and vinegar tripe were perfect as side dishes for my beer. Even though it was cold outside, I couldn't resist having a beer. The motsunabe was soy sauce flavored and really warmed me up. It seems like the Hakata Station branch is open all day, but this location seems to close briefly before dinner time. They don't serve the dinner menu during lunch. I definitely want to come back for lunch again! Thank you for the meal! (^^)

Anyway, it was slow. It took about 30 minutes for the hot pot to come out, is this normal? The taste was nothing special, not worth going to a dedicated motsunabe restaurant for. The attitude of the staff on the first floor was a bit disappointing. We were told it's a 2-hour limit as soon as we entered, so we placed our order early, but the hot pot didn't arrive in the end.

I made a reservation for 19:15 and entered the restaurant. I'm glad I made a reservation. There were 6-7 groups waiting. I had the ¥3500 course, burdock root tempura salad, and sesame mackerel. The taste was good, the service was quick, and all the staff were very friendly. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I received a call from a person from a company I used to work with, who is currently in Fukuoka after coming from Tokyo. We decided to go out for a drink, and ended up at a restaurant known for its Fukuoka specialty dish, motsunabe. The restaurant had around 60 seats, with counter seats on the 2nd floor and table seats on the 3rd floor. Luckily, we were able to get a table without a reservation. We ordered various dishes, including motsunabe with soy sauce flavor, Fukuoka spicy mentaiko, and Goto sesame mackerel. The sesame mackerel was thick and juicy, with a rich sesame sauce that complemented the fish well. The mentaiko was slightly spicy and perfect as a drinking snack. The motsunabe had a clear and refreshing soy sauce broth, with tender and flavorful pieces of offal. The vegetables included cabbage and leeks, keeping the dish simple and delicious. Towards the end, the fat from the offal melted into the broth, adding a rich and savory flavor. We were too full for dessert, but I'm glad that the person I met was satisfied with the meal. Today it was cold with snow falling, so I looked for a nearby izakaya around the hotel. The first choice I had researched was fully booked, so I went to the next option. I was seated at a spacious table on the third floor. To fully enjoy Fukuoka, I ordered bottled beer, sweet potato shochu, motsunabe in soy sauce broth, raw beef heart sashimi, and gobou tempura salad. It had been a while since I had motsunabe, and it was delicious with various types of offal like tongue and heart in the soup. The offal and vegetables were tasty, but the champon noodles at the end paired perfectly with the soup, making the visit worthwhile. The raw beef heart sashimi seemed slightly cooked, but the chewy texture went down smoothly. I enjoyed it with soy sauce and sesame oil. I was skeptical about tempura on a salad, but the freshly fried gobou tempura was soft with a nice earthy aroma that complemented the salad well. The total bill for two people was 9,200 yen including tax. I was able to fully enjoy Fukuoka as planned.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. The first floor has a counter, while the second and third floors have table seats, with the third floor being the most spacious and nice. The miso-flavored motsunabe was delicious. I wished they had included tofu, but it would have been nice to add it as a topping. The vinegar motsunabe was also refreshing and tasty.

I came to Fukuoka, so of course I had to try motsunabe (tripe hot pot)! I made a reservation a few days ago because popular restaurants tend to fill up quickly. When I arrived at 5:30, there were already customers ahead of me. I was seated on the third floor, with partitions between tables making it feel almost like a semi-private room. The motsunabe comes in soy sauce, salt, and miso flavors, and I chose the safe option of "soy sauce" (1590 yen per serving). While waiting, I had the crispy burdock tempura salad (580 yen) which was delicious and had a generous portion, and the Hakata-style fried chicken (680 yen) which had a crispy coating and a light soy sauce flavor. When the main dish of motsunabe arrived, it was filled with mixed offal, cabbage, garlic slices, and burdock in a flavorful yet light broth. The offal was tender and had no unpleasant smell, making it easy to keep eating. I added more cabbage and noodles because it was so tasty! With drinks and food, the total came to around 3000 yen, which was a great deal. Reservations are a must. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation through Tabelog and went to this restaurant. There were many locals, including families with children. Although I'm not a fan of motsunabe, I decided to try the authentic motsunabe since I was in Hakata. The staff made the motsunabe for us. The soup was really delicious, I could drink it all up. Honestly, I still didn't like the motsu, but the champon for the finishing touch was incredibly delicious.
