It can be a bit tricky to find, but if you head towards Whity Umeda from Osaka Station, you will eventually get there. The restaurant is located near the fountain square in Whity Umeda, next to Nawa Sushi and Kame Sushi Honten. The original Kame Sushi Honten across the street seems to be closed, so the line forms in front of Kame Sushi Sohonten. We waited about 20 minutes before being seated at the counter, where the sushi chef prepares the sushi right in front of you. The sushi is served in pairs, with a variety of options like white fish, lightly seared tuna, scallops, and more. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. The sushi pieces are quite large, reflecting the Osaka style of serving sushi. The flavors were simple yet delicious, with a focus on the natural taste of the ingredients. The restaurant is popular among foreign tourists, with menus available in multiple languages and friendly service. The chefs also have a great sense of humor, making the dining experience enjoyable for everyone.

Visited the restaurant on a Saturday at 5:00 PM with a reservation. Saturdays only accept reservations for 3 or more people between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. There was a line outside the store. Since there were 3 of us, we were seated in a private room on the 3rd floor. We started with a toast with draft beer. For appetizers, we ordered white fish sashimi, shako vinegar, sea bream with sake lees, grilled abalone liver, tuna cheek meat, tekka maki, and butterbur. The white fish sashimi was either sea bream or flounder, so we chose flounder. Everything was delicious and went well with the drinks. We switched to shochu on the rocks halfway through and ordered cockles, fatty tuna tekka maki, and more shako vinegar because we liked it. When asked for the last order 30 minutes before closing, we ordered sword squid, kombu with eggs, egg, amberjack, and conger eel for the finale. We also ordered red miso soup. We were full and very satisfied.

I came to this recommended restaurant by a friend in Umeda on a weekday after a long time. Despite it being 4:00 pm on a weekday, there was a line in front of the store. I waited for about 15 minutes and finally got in. I came alone, but they were able to accommodate my order of one piece at a time. And it was delicious! I think maybe even 3 people are not accepted, and reservations are for 4 people or more, so please be aware. On the last day of Obon, I arrived around 16:20 and lined up at 8. During my trip to Osaka, I stopped by this restaurant. There was already a line forming before opening, so I recommend arriving early if you want to eat right away. There were a lot of inbound tourists. I ordered draft beer, bottled beer (Ichiban Shibori), uzaku, seared tuna cheek, and toro aburi. The toro aburi was filled generously with tuna, making it a luxurious treat. For a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant, it was reasonably priced. The only downside was that the restaurant was small for the number of seats available.

Osaka Umeda Kame Sushi Due to the increasing number of foreigners, there was quite a line, with a wait of about one hour... After considering giving up multiple times, the beer after the one-hour wait was the best. Tuna, flounder, horse mackerel, striped jack, conger eel, eel, sea urchin, sardine, white clam, gizzard shad, tuna, striped jack, and tekka maki red plate. The total came to 17,000 yen for two people, which is quite a price increase compared to five years ago, but the cost performance is still the best. It was a feast.

It has become extremely popular, hasn't it? I have been visiting this place for over thirty years. The volume, variety of sushi, and prices are all reasons for its popularity. In the past, I could just drop by and ask, "How about some sushi?" but now I have to be prepared to wait for at least an hour, so I can only go occasionally. However, the sushi is still delicious. It might be our family's soul food, including my daughter and son.

Friday lunch visit. It was raining, and I arrived just 5 minutes past opening time without having to wait in line. However, a line quickly formed. The shop had many foreigners. The salmon, eel, and tuna were all served with soft rice that melted in your mouth. The tuna was especially delicious. I would love to go back again. Thank you for the meal.

Finally, I had plans to go to Osaka this time❗️ I was looking for a sushi restaurant where I could drink properly from lunchtime, and this place was perfect for that! They were fully booked from around 3 pm on weekdays, as expected from a super popular restaurant♪

Visited with my family. It was our first time being guided to the third-floor tatami room. Since we had children with us, we were able to relax and enjoy our time! While it's nice to have freshly made sushi placed on plates at the counter, it was surprising to see the dishes brought to us in the tatami room already filled with a variety of sushi.

The portions are large and very cost-effective. I went later in the evening, but they didn't run out of any items, which was nice. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide the red miso soup that I ordered. I especially liked the fine texture of the tuna. I will definitely go back again!

Around 4:30 PM on Sunday, the seats were full but we were able to get in without waiting in line! About 30 minutes later, people were already starting to line up outside even though it was raining! It had been a while since I last visited, but the atmosphere was just as great and the fresh fish was delicious! The ratio of fish to rice was perfect, allowing us to truly savor the deliciousness of the fish itself!

I had some business around Umeda and ended up having a meal at Kame Sushi Main Store. It was lunchtime, so I waited in line for over an hour. The restaurant seemed to have a second floor, but they were only operating on the first floor. The tuna seemed to be highly praised, so I ordered various dishes including tuna. In short, "delicious." The sushi made by the lively chefs had generous toppings and was very tasty. It seemed like the chefs were taking turns, as the chef serving my seat was replaced halfway through. I noticed that the amount of rice and the way the sushi was made varied depending on the chef. Next time I visit, I want to go at a time when I don't have to wait too long.
