ビルバオ
One of the most popular yakiniku restaurants in Osaka, Tsuruhashi. The name of the restaurant is pronounced as "Manmasa". I have heard that this restaurant is the strongest in terms of cost performance, along with Stamina En in Adachi, Tokyo, and Ryu-en in Mizusawa, Iwate. The location is about a 15-minute walk southeast from Tsuruhashi, through an arcade shopping street, and further east. Look for a flour mill as a landmark. Strictly speaking, the address is Momodani, not Tsuruhashi. Next to it is also a popular okonomiyaki restaurant called Omoni. It's quite a lineup. Reservations are required for groups of 4 or more, while other customers have to wait in line before the store opens on the same day. After the store opens, check the time at the store and if there is availability, you can secure a later time slot for that day. On weekends, there can be a wait until 8:30 pm even if you arrive in the 5 pm range, and once inside, there is a 1.5-hour time limit. The omakase course starts from 2 servings. On this day, we ordered a la carte. The basic is tare sauce, but all menu items can also be ordered with salt. Most customers order yubiki (boiled meat), salted tongue, and harami (skirt meat). The urute is cartilage from organs, and especially yubiki was a first-time experience. Squeeze lemon, mix well, and enjoy the crunchy texture. It doesn't have a particularly strong flavor itself, but it's about enjoying the crispy texture. From here, we move on to grilling. Grilled salted tongue is the specialty and highlight. It's limited to one serving per person. Presumably using the tongue base, removing the lower part, and parts affecting the texture such as blood vessels. There were a few blood vessels left, but that's part of the charm. Thickly sliced tongue is lined up, with plenty of minced garlic on the bottom. After grilling, top it with garlic and roll it up to eat. There's a considerable amount of garlic, and it's raw so it's spicy and smelly, but when rolled and eaten, it's delicious. Obviously, the preparation is also excellent. You can adjust the amount of garlic you put on top. Hormone mix is also available, so this might be the quickest option. You can enjoy various cuts, but they are all delicious. Hormones are supposed to be particularly fresh, and this is wonderful. Oh, by the way, they only have a mixing sauce, no dipping sauce. I'm not sure if you can ask for it. Overall, even though the seasoning is relatively light for yakiniku, it's very satisfying. The harami is also cut thick. It looks like just meat, but it's actually diaphragm, so technically it's also hormone. It's a simple cut, not a special cut like Stamina En, for example. The rich flavor of the harami itself comes through solidly. This is also delicious. It's a very popular restaurant in Osaka, so it's tough to get in, but I think it's a place where you can get that kind of satisfaction. The cost performance is outstanding. Especially in Osaka, it's unlikely that you'll find this kind of quality for this price at other restaurants in the area. I personally prefer this type of yakiniku over high-end shops that are very particular. Since it's a smoky place, be careful with your clothing. Or rather, you'll end up smelling like smoke even if you dress up. Be aware that there is a 100 yen charge for the cabbage appetizer.
