We decided to visit Kawanoya because we were craving motsunabe. I heard that this place is where the tradition of finishing with champon noodles originated, which was surprising. We arrived around 9 o'clock and I was already starving. We quickly ordered the motsunabe and while waiting for it to cook, we enjoyed some vinegar motsu as appetizers with some sake. The sake here comes in cute bottles (I will upload a photo of the clear mirror water). The motsunabe was just delicious. This time we chose the "soy sauce" flavor, but they also have "miso" and "Japanese-style dashi". I haven't tried the Japanese-style dashi yet. You can also add extra items like motsu, vegetables, and tofu if you want. Of course, let's not forget to have champon noodles! Lastly, we tried the "makanaigohan" which is rice mixed with salad and miso motsu, and it was really good. I definitely recommend it to everyone! Next time, I want to try the motsunabe with Japanese-style dashi.

Visited during a trip. Had motsunabe for the first time in my life. We were a group of 10 people, so we were guided to a private room on the 3rd floor and were able to enjoy our meal comfortably. We ordered the motsunabe course with all-you-can-drink option (4500 yen). It came with chicken wings, salad, and a satisfying ending dish. We could choose several types of broth, and this time we went with the Japanese-style broth. The flavorful motsu and vegetables were so delicious! When I come to Hakata again, I definitely want to have motsunabe!

Arrived a little while ago at 17:00. After deciding on "yakitori" for tomorrow's dinner, we searched for tonight's dinner. "How about motsunabe for a change?" "Sounds good." So, we headed to a place that was not crowded, and we arrived at "Hakata Issen Hakata Station Higashi Main Store"! The influx of tourists from Korea and the surrounding areas has caused a chaotic situation at popular ramen shops! We were surprised to see nearly 100 people lining up. It turned out to be "Hakata Issen Hakata Station Higashi Main Store". Popular shops in Hakata have always been a place where reservations are a must. While young people are fine with lining up, it's not something we prefer as older individuals. Our criteria are: no waiting, not too expensive, and small portions of our favorite dishes. For tonight, we ordered the "Kawanono (motsunabe) Course". We arrived at 16:55. The landlady was preparing for the last opening outside the shop. We were warmly welcomed and entered the second-floor table seats. We ordered raw oysters, oolong tea, motsunabe course with soy sauce, and finished with zosui. We were served edamame and salad, and then came the fried chicken wings! They looked delicious and hot! Crispy and juicy, very tasty! This is really well done! Now, the main dish, motsunabe, arrived. Motsu, leeks, and cabbage were served. Of course, my partner said it was good. A good broth is coming out. The plentiful red pepper is doing a good job. There is a slight smell, but it's delicious. Furthermore, various parts were used, and we enjoyed the taste change. Even after the vegetables were gone, there was still plenty of motsu left. Now, looking forward to the "zosui". They finished it in the kitchen. And now, it's here. The egg looks half-cooked and delicious. The zosui is the highlight of the meal. The flavor has seeped in and it's delicious. However, when it was time for a refill, it was a bit salty. When asked, my partner agreed. It was found that salt had been added compared to the remaining broth in a different container. This was a bit disappointing. The landlady and the staff were great, so we might visit again. But next time, I'll make the zosui myself.

A well-established restaurant where you can enjoy motsunabe in a private room at a reasonable price. The walls inside the restaurant were decorated with many autographs of famous people. You can choose between table seating and private rooms, and even if you didn't make a reservation with seat selection, you could still be seated in a private room. The "Kawanon Course" for 2900 yen includes edamame, salad, two herb chicken wings, motsunabe, champon noodles or zosui (rice porridge), and dessert ice cream. The main motsunabe comes with a choice of soy sauce, miso, or Japanese broth base. This time, I chose the recommended soy sauce base. The motsu was plentiful and chewy, allowing you to enjoy the richness. The motsu included several types mixed together. For the finishing touch, you can choose between champon noodles and zosui, but I heard this is the birthplace of champon noodles, so I chose champon noodles this time. The chewy thick noodles absorbed the broth and were delicious. The chicken wings had crispy skin and were tasty, but the saltiness was a bit strong.

Established in 1953. Second branch located in Haruyoshi. The classic motsunabe is said to be in "soy sauce flavor," but the favorite among women is the "miso flavor." Motsunabe Miso Flavor 1580 yen Blended with three types of high-quality miso from Kyoto, it has a rich aroma and flavorful soup. Gobo tempura is served on the side, to be added into the miso soup. The motsu is fresh and chewy. Plenty of vegetables! The cabbage is cut into large pieces, providing a satisfying crunch. Two types of mushrooms are also included. We added champon noodles at the end, enjoying it like miso ramen. A taste that you won't get tired of, could eat it anytime. There is also a second floor. Private rooms are available. A restaurant that seems to be very convenient to use.

I stopped by on my way home from work. This is Haruyoshi. The hostess had a nice way of serving us at this restaurant. The flavor was slightly sweet in the broth, but the fresh offal was delicious. They had a drink called Mega Lemon Sour, and it was huge!

When it gets cold, I crave motsunabe♪ It's located a short walk from Canal City. The restaurant has two floors and we were seated in a private room, so we could enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. They had miso and soy sauce, but I opted for soy sauce as usual. There were various types of offal like heart and intestines. It was satisfying without feeling too heavy, and the champon for dessert was delicious too. You can adjust the spiciness with the red pepper, which is great. I personally like it when the vegetables are not too soft. I would love to visit again.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and finally had the chance to visit. I made a reservation and was seated in a semi-private room on the second floor. I ordered the "Motsu Nabe with Soy Sauce Flavor" for 1,430 yen including tax, and added tofu as an option for about 300 yen. For the finishing touch, I chose the zosui for about 300 yen. However, I was a bit disappointed as the taste of the broth was strange and the amount of vegetables was lacking. The zosui was also not very impressive due to the mediocre broth. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but I'm not sure if this is the authentic taste of a long-standing restaurant. I have tried motsu nabe at various places, but I think I'll stop being indecisive and try something else next time.

On the first day of my trip to Fukuoka, I went to a restaurant to have the famous motsunabe for dinner. The motsunabe, basashi (horse sashimi), grilled mentaiko, and gyoza were all delicious. What made the experience even better was the friendly and polite service from the staff. To finish off the meal, they made a delicious champon using the broth from the motsunabe.

I felt like eating motsunabe, so I visited Kawano-san, which I had been curious about for a while. I chose the miso soup and it was delicious, with the motsu being perfectly chewy. The tebasaki course was also tasty! The all-you-can-drink course included Ebisu beer bottles, which felt like a good deal. Next time, I'll try a different soup flavor.

Izakaya Series Part 145 Fukuoka Edition This restaurant is located about a 4-5 minute walk from Gion Station in Fukuoka. It's a place where you can enjoy motsunabe, which is available at two locations in Fukuoka. I had made a reservation beforehand and was guided to a private room on the second floor. There weren't many customers, probably because it was an off-season. The course included horse sashimi, edamame, prosciutto salad, Kumamoto horse sashimi, herb chicken wings, motsunabe, champon noodles, and ice cream for dessert. The motsunabe was soy sauce flavored and didn't have red chili peppers in it. The pork flavor was rich and delicious. There were several autographs from celebrities, so it seems to be a popular restaurant.

Today, I visited a restaurant called Kawanoe. Since it was around 6 pm, the restaurant was not crowded and we were seated right away. We ordered some drinks and when they arrived, we toasted and our ordered motsu nabe (offal hot pot) was served. The delicious smell of the motsu nabe filled the air immediately! It was so tasty that I couldn't stop eating. Every dish that arrived after that was also delicious and I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied!

I used this restaurant while traveling. There are many motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurants in Hakata, and I have only been to this one so I cannot compare. However, one thing is for sure, this restaurant is delicious! Not only motsunabe, but also the iron pot gyoza, grilled motsu, and other Hakata specialties can be enjoyed here. There is also a wide variety of sake, with detailed explanations to make it easy to choose! Additionally, each table is separated, and I felt that they were thorough in implementing infection prevention measures.

When I visited Fukuoka city on a trip, I happened to make a reservation and went there! It's a quaint restaurant located near Hakata Station and Canal City. There were 5 of us in the family, but we were able to maintain social distance from other customers, which was good. You can choose from 3 flavors and we chose miso and soy sauce for 2 servings. It was delicious! We were satisfied and full.

Fukuoka to Shimane Travel Part 3! Visited Kawanosan in Gion, Hakata for motsunabe and horse sashimi. Ordered motsunabe (miso flavor), marbled horse sashimi, grilled motsu, and sake. The menu recommended motsunabe for women, so I chose the miso flavor. It was rich but not overwhelming, so I enjoyed it until the end. The motsu included various parts and tasted authentic and delicious. The grilled motsu was chewy with a fatty and sweet-savory flavor, which may go well with beer than sake! The only disappointment was the horse sashimi. Despite opting for the marbled, expensive option, there were too many tendons. The motsunabe was delicious and left a good memory of Hakata.

I arrived in Fukuoka on 1.1.12. For dinner, we decided that hot pot would be good since it was cold, so we searched and found this restaurant that looked good. We made a reservation in advance and went there. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with dim lighting. We ordered two servings of miso-flavored motsunabe (tripe hot pot), gyoza, edamame, and two glasses of draft beer. We started with the draft beer, which was delicious. The edamame portion was generous and tasty. The gyoza (dumplings) were crispy on the outside and delicious, especially with the spicy chili peppers as condiments. The motsunabe arrived and we were instructed to simmer the leeks until it boiled again, which was a nice touch. The soup had a miso flavor but was light, not as strong as I had imagined, but still good. We also had gobo (burdock root) tempura, which was served separately and added to the hot pot before eating. It added a nice crunchy texture. The tripe was tender and the leeks were tasty. My wife ordered cheese spring rolls, which were devoured quickly. Overall, the motsunabe with gobo tempura was excellent. The bill came out to a little over 6000 yen. It was delicious, and we will definitely come back again.

I visited the restaurant for a year-end party. I was excited because it had good reviews on Tabelog. I chose the horse sashimi course for 3000 yen plus 1500 yen for all-you-can-drink with a coupon, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. The menu included edamame, pickled vegetables, prosciutto salad, chicken wings, motsu nabe (offal hot pot), and dessert. It was simple, tasty, and reasonably priced, so I was very satisfied! The only downside was that the motsu nabe had too little soup and the offal was small and tough, so I have to deduct points for that. Overall, it was a good experience!

I was looking for a motsunabe restaurant in Fukuoka that I could visit with my child for the first time. I made a reservation here because I saw on another site that they have large private rooms. The private room is on the 3rd floor. There are only stairs, so it may be difficult for elderly people. The large room has carpeting, a TV, and a toilet on the same floor. I had informed them that I was with an infant, and they had prepared a bouncer, which was very helpful! My 4-year-old daughter was running around and having a great time. Some reviews mentioned that it takes a long time for drinks to arrive, but that was not the case at all. We ordered a la carte items instead of a course. We ordered motsunabe in soy sauce flavor, Hakata-style dashi flavor, horse sashimi, Hakata mentaiko, black bean edamame, cold tofu, tomato salad, charcoal-grilled local chicken, vinegar motsu, and chicken wings. Everything was delicious. The soy sauce flavor motsunabe was especially good! The classic is the best!! It was amazing! We had to skip the white miso flavor motsunabe this time... I would like to try it next time. The white miso flavor is the most popular among women!

A private and wonderful gathering with colleagues. The restaurant they reserved for us this time was on the 3rd floor, and the room had a TV and a gas stove, giving it a cozy feel. We ordered the Kumamoto horse sashimi course for 4500 yen (with 2 hours of all-you-can-drink), which included vinegar tripe, edamame, salad, horse sashimi, chicken wing tempura, motsu nabe, nabe finale (champon or zosui), and dessert ice cream (yuzu or cassis). We tried three different types of motsu nabe, leaving the choice to the locals. My island's nabe was the "miso" style, which came with "gobo tempura," a unique touch! The motsu nabe, simmering away, absorbed the broth and had a soft, delightful texture. It reminded me of a dish I've had before—Fukuoka's must-try gobo tempura udon! The cost performance was great, leaving us full and satisfied. The only thing missing was maybe some yuzu pepper. It would have been even better if it was provided by default. Thank you for the meal!

Around 6:30 pm, visited for the first time with 4 colleagues. At the entrance, there were bikes and canoes, giving off a vibe of a "motsu" (offal) restaurant. The interior was clean, and we were led to a semi-private room on the second floor. We were lucky to get this room even though we called after 6 pm. We ordered beer, horse sashimi, gyoza, kimchi, and soy sauce-flavored motsu nabe for 2 people. The taste was decent, but the portion might be a bit small. We added miso-flavored motsu nabe for 2 more people, and it was quite tasty. We had around 4 drinks per person, and the total bill came to a little over 16,000 yen.
