The Daimaru Umeda store has a lot of unique food items which makes it fun to explore. I was surprised to see Zunda tea house as a permanent fixture there. When I visited Sendai, I tried Zunda shake but missed out on buying Zunda mochi, so I decided to get it as a souvenir in Osaka. Since it's a frozen product, I thought it might not be as good as freshly made, but I was wrong. I followed the thawing instructions and ate it, but it was still a bit hard. I found that letting it thaw slowly in the refrigerator overnight was much better. I bought two boxes and tested this theory. The Zunda paste is delicious! The edamame flavor cream bread with Zunda shake taste was good as a cream bread, but the Zunda flavor was subtle and not very distinct. The white bread and light green Zunda shake flavored cream didn't have much color contrast. It felt like it was missing something. Maybe it would have been better as a sandwich? Note: The instructions say that it's ready to eat when a chopstick can pass through it after thawing, but letting it thaw in the refrigerator overnight is tastier.

When I looked at the floor map of Umeda Daimaru, I discovered Zunda Charyo. I had only tried Zunda shake in Sendai before, so I bought Zunda mochi and Zunda cream bread to take home. The bread had a mild flavor with a light taste of edamame due to the cream filling. The Zunda mochi was frozen, but once properly thawed, the mochi was soft and the edamame flavor was pronounced, making it delicious. One pack didn't turn out well when I rushed the thawing process, so it's better to take your time thawing it properly.

Zunda mochi, a specialty of Sendai, can be purchased at Daimaru Umeda store. It comes frozen, so you can simply let it thaw naturally when you want to eat it. There are five mochi hidden under a generous amount of zunda. The combination of plenty of zunda, the mochi, and the perfect balance of salt and gentle sweetness is delicious. The texture and flavor of the edamame is exquisite. I wasn't sure how it would be since it's frozen, but after trying a box, I will definitely stock up on more next time. Thank you for the meal!

I had been wanting to try it once, so when I found out that there was a Zunda Chaya shop at Daimaru Umeda, I decided to visit. I went on a weekday afternoon and there were about four people in line, but I was able to buy it after waiting for about 2 minutes. There were three types of shakes available: Zunda Shake, Zunda Shake large, and Zunda Shake Excella. It seems that there is no soy option at the Daimaru Umeda store. In addition to shakes, they also sell other products such as Zunda mochi. This time, I ordered the Zunda Shake and asked the staff about the quantity, but they didn't know, they only mentioned that it has 250 calories. It was described as having a grainy texture, but personally, I didn't feel it much; it had a strong vanilla flavor and was sweet and easy to drink. There was a trash can next to the shop, so you can throw away your drink trash and leave, but there were no chairs. I love Zunda, so next time I want to try the Zunda Shake Excella or the Zunda mochi.

Additional note on March 31, 2023: I had the Zunda roll - it won first place in the roll cake category. Zunda roll is my favorite roll cake that appeals to all my senses. I want to eat it every day and serve it to guests when they come over! The cream is elegant and the sponge is fluffy. Even when frozen, it remains fluffy and easy to cut. I regret not having tried it before. I love Yasutomo. Both of them confidently stated that you can drink as many shakes as you want here! So, I visited based on their recommendation. I was a bit skeptical about using edamame in sweets, but when I learned that the parent company of this place makes "Hagino Tsuki" in Sendai, I knew I couldn't go wrong with a shop that makes such delicious sweets! I debated between getting the Zunda shake or Zunda mochi. I love mochi, so I ended up ordering the Zunda mochi. It was made with edamame but had the perfect amount of sweetness, making it irresistibly delicious! The mochi was very chewy, and the Zunda paste was heavenly. It was so good! I know my manners were bad, but I had to eat while standing next to the store. I wish I could have sat down, sipped green tea, and savored it slowly. I had plans for dinner later, so I had to pass on the Zunda roll, which I heard is incredibly delicious. The Sakura daifuku also looked tempting. I also bought a butter dorayaki, which was simply delicious (not sure if I would buy it again, though). Next time, I definitely want to buy the Zunda roll! Thank you for the meal.

I searched for zunda as a souvenir and found that other than Zunda Charyo at Daimaru Umeda Store, I couldn't find a fixed store that sells it. Whenever someone asks for zunda, I always purchase it here. It has a long shelf life and can be frozen, making it a great choice for gifts. They also have zunda butter that can be stored at room temperature and is perfect for souvenirs as well!

I stopped by before returning home for the Obon holiday at "Zunda Salon Daimaru Umeda Store" located on the basement 1st floor of the west building of Daimaru Umeda store in front of JR Osaka Station. I was looking for sweets to offer at my family's Buddhist altar in Hiroshima, and the refreshing green color caught my eye. There are various sweets other than mochi. I felt like trying the Zunda Shake, but I passed this time. I purchased "Sendai specialty Zunda mochi" 8 pieces for 1,080 yen. They are made in Okawara-cho, Miyagi Prefecture, not Osaka. They last quite a while. I enjoyed them after offering them at the altar. The mochi is wrapped in Zunda bean paste, and the flavor of edamame is delicious. For dental maintenance, I had limited time in Osaka, only 2 hours! The parking fee is free for 2 hours, so that's why. I ended up taking longer for my dental appointment than expected, so I didn't have time for lunch (tears). But I was thirsty and wanted something sweet to drink. I thought about getting a melon drink at Starbucks, but then I remembered my husband had 3 free vouchers. So, I decided to get a Zunda Shake for 330 yen at a shop near the Daimaru underground entrance. I bought it and made it back to the Hilton Hotel parking lot just in time (／▽＼)♪ I enjoyed it on the way home. It had some bits left, and the combination of milk and zunda was irresistible. Ah, it was delicious! I should have bought a larger size. I'll have to get it again next time.

When the temperature rises, I crave zunda shake. I got hooked on this addictive taste since the first time I tried it. I wonder who came up with this shake? The person who created it must be a star in the company by now. When you sip it with a straw, you can enjoy the chunky texture of zunda in your mouth. And it's so refreshing. I tried zunda shake for the first time. There was always a line at the shop for zunda shake. The taste of zunda beans was just right, very rich and creamy. If you like zunda, you will enjoy it! It seemed like they used a lot of zunda, making it a bit heavy to drink with a straw (lol). Even the regular size was satisfying enough!

How many times have I had this - (≧∀≦) I love the Zunda Shake! I already like Zunda, but in shake form, it's delicious! This shake apparently combines vanilla shake with Zunda. They go so well together! And the bits of Zunda in it are great! I think they must have crushed a lot of edamame to put in it. It's rich, and you can really feel like you're drinking a shake (*^o^*) Even when it's busy, they quickly make it in the back shaker, so I can't help but stop by (^◇^;) I recommend the Zunda Mochi Petit too♡ The others are frozen so they need to be thawed, but the Petit can be eaten right away and it's a good size♪ There's also a frozen version. It comes with 3 pieces of mochi. Even though it's called Petit, the mochi pieces are not that small! They have a nice firmness, which I like! The Zunda paste is not too sweet, just right! Delicious♪ The bits of Zunda are still visible, and that's nice (^o^) I think it's the same, but I want to drink and eat at this place in Sendai too. I want to go to Miyagi and try various Zunda mochi dishes (*^^*)

I noticed a while ago but didn't have a chance to visit until recently. I decided to try the Zunda Shake on a hot day. They offer one with extra whipped cream, but I recommend starting with the regular Zunda Shake. The balance of the Zunda flavor, coldness, and sweetness is exquisite and very delicious. It's been about a month since I had it, but I already feel like having it again. The shop is located inside Daimaru Umeda. There is a small seating area next to the shake pick-up counter.
