Located in Ura-Namba, Osaka, the restaurant Osaka Shumai Chin has unfortunately been closed for a long period during the COVID-19 pandemic, or only offering takeout services. Finally, I was able to sit at the counter and look through the menu. There were so many dishes I wanted to try! After sipping on a highball to quench my thirst, I started with their signature dish, the "Grilled Shumai," which was beautifully grilled to bring out the savory flavor of the pork with a hint of ginger. It was delicious! Next, I tried the "Special Beef Stomach with Ginger Sauce," which had tender meat that paired perfectly with the ginger sauce. A must-try dish! The "Fried Pork Mao Zedong" had a crispy coating with a spicy Mao Zedong spice that was so addictive. Then, I had the "Grilled Pork Feet," which had a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful interior. The highlight was the "Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork," with its perfect balance of acidity and richness, and the melt-in-your-mouth pork. It was irresistible! The highball was disappearing quickly with all these amazing dishes. To finish, I had the "Egg Fried Rice," which was perfectly cooked with a beautiful golden color. There are still more dishes I want to try, so I'll be back for sure when they are fully operational again. I highly recommend trying out this delicious food for yourself. It was truly a fantastic dining experience. I revisited this place because I had a good experience last time. This time, I focused on rice dishes since I didn't eat much last time. First, I started with a special highball for a toast! It was delicious, with a strong ginger flavor. I ordered various dishes and started enjoying them right away. The grilled dumplings were excellent, just like last time! Other dishes like mapo tofu, sweet and sour pork, and fried rice were also very tasty. They paired well with the drinks. There were still more dishes I wanted to try, but my stomach was already full. Strolling Journey - Osaka Edition - Our strolling journey is finally coming to an end! What to eat in my hometown Osaka~ Just like a true two-man live show, we encountered heavy rain and thunder! We decided to visit a restaurant near the venue, loved by Yoshimoto comedians. We arrived at the restaurant on Sunday at 7 pm. The place was bustling with customers. Luckily, we were able to sit at the counter and were promptly seated. I tried the Chashu - Kafu Chen Shu, a drink made by mixing Pu'er tea with chen shu. It was easy to drink, but by the time I finished, I was feeling a bit tipsy. The Special Pork Intestines with Ginger Sauce - The light intestines paired well with the ginger sauce. Roasted Pork Feet - Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Sometimes the skin is hard to chew, but the meat is collagen-rich and tender. Baked Shumai - Three large baked shumai with plenty of shredded ginger. Egg Fried Rice - A light and satisfying way to end the meal. Ginger Ale - A ginger ale like no other I've had before! The water used is from the Noses spring. It was energizing. We had a good laugh and enjoyed our meal. Next time, I want to try the steamed shumai and lo lo fan. Thank you for the delicious meal!

What we ordered: - Steamed dumplings (3 pieces) for 420 yen - Fried dumplings (3 pieces) for 420 yen We visited around 7 pm on a Sunday, and the place was almost full until we left. It's a cozy spot in the back streets of Namba where you can easily drop by for a drink even if you're alone and feeling a bit thirsty. As it was our second stop, we didn't try their popular grilled pork feet, but we'll definitely have it next time! Thank you for the meal! 🌟

Grilled pork feet and grilled shumai are my personal favorites!! The common point is that both are crispy and chewy♡ The steamed shumai (3 pieces for 462 yen) from Horaikan, where I grew up in 551, was small and easy to eat with a light taste. The grilled shumai (3 pieces for 462 yen) is crispy, chewy, and juicy. The combination of ginger and shumai is really good. The grilled pork feet (594 yen) are tender and collagen-rich. The crispy grilled skin was also delicious!! The stir-fried Hong Kong-style komatsuna and intestines (748 yen), spicy shiso dumplings (572 yen), and spicy Chinese cabbage (418 yen) were all delicious. It was fun to try unique Chinese-style drinks like sansho liquor and cinnamon plum wine. The sansho liquor went well with the recommended jasmine tea, refreshing and a good match with Chinese food! You can order directly or through a QR code. Reservations are recommended as it was always full. There were many beautiful ladies drinking in groups♡ Spent around 5000 yen for two people! (First stop)

It's the first day of a 3-day weekend. However, it's hot. I had a reservation at 5:45, but arrived a little early. The restaurant was cramped and hot, with a counter and tables. Cold drinks went down easily. I was hungry, so I ordered a lot: sausages, boiled cartilage, boiled pork tongue, grilled dumplings, steamed dumplings, stuffed intestines, stir-fried komatsuna with potatoes, and shredded potato salad. I ordered a large bottle of beer. The tripe dish was sold out. I found out I could order by scanning a QR code. - The boiled cartilage had a strong soy sauce flavor. - The sausages were slightly sweet and very delicious, with a great blend of spices. - The stir-fried komatsuna was hearty with large pieces of mushrooms. - The shredded potato salad was refreshing. - I preferred the steamed dumplings, which paired well with plenty of hot mustard. The grilled ones were flat and tasted different. - The boiled pork tongue was thick, boiled with lots of garlic and spicy seasoning, very tasty. I switched to a jar of Shaoxing wine at room temperature, which paired well with the dishes. - I ordered the Mao Zedong-style fried pork, took one bite, and then ordered rice. Rice went better with it than the alcohol. Finally, I had yakisoba and left feeling full. I overspent at over 10,000 yen. Thank you for the meal. The next day, I still couldn't get rid of the garlic smell.

The grilled shumai was meaty, the steamed shumai was fluffy, the grilled pork feet had a crispy exterior and a tender interior, and the garlic noodles were simple with just green onions and garlic as toppings, but the noodles were chewy. I saw it on TV and wanted to try it, but they didn't have two of the dishes I wanted to eat. However, everything I ordered was delicious. Among them, the grilled dumplings were the best. I wanted to eat more! I could eat as many grilled dumplings as I wanted! It was so delicious that I would be willing to go just to eat the grilled dumplings! I also want to try the two dishes I wanted to eat soon, but it's difficult because I don't have a reason to go there yet. But even if they say they don't have it, I will eat a lot of grilled dumplings and go again!

I felt like having Chinese food in Namba, and ended up at this place that seemed to be saying "Come here!" The restaurant is always about 80% full, and the staff are really friendly! The gyoza is a must-try! The pan-fried gyoza is incredibly delicious! Unlike steamed gyoza, it is packed with a crispy, flavorful filling and sauce! The fried rice I ordered for the first time was exquisite! Delicious! It had crispy bits of fat that enhanced the flavor! However, the water was lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing, but since it's free, I can't really complain!

I received a message asking if I could eat pig's feet, and I was taken to a place where I could try them! I'm not a big fan of pig's feet, but the ones here are grilled and have a strong flavor, making them delicious. Personally, my favorite is the spicy fried pork, which goes great with beer. Recently, I've been looking for delicious food in Namba. One place I like is located west of Namba Station and east of Nipponbashi Station. It has a narrow and long interior, which creates a nice atmosphere. The place can accommodate around 20 people. First, I recommend getting a large bottle of beer. When it comes to Chinese food, a large bottle is a must. The shumai here is delicious, whether steamed or fried, but I prefer the steamed ones. They feel lighter compared to others. A serving is 3 pieces, but one person can easily eat 3 servings. Aside from shumai, other dishes are also tasty. The Chinese sausages are sweet and delicious. The pig's trotters have a crispy exterior and a tender interior. The yakisoba has a nice Chinese touch to it. The mapo tofu is boldly flavored. My personal favorite is the pig's trotters. If you're looking to eat pig's trotters, this place is a better option than Kadoya in Namba. Overall, the food here is quite delicious and reasonably priced. I think it's a wonderful restaurant.

After watching a movie in Minami on Sunday, I had dinner at a restaurant called "Gyozanchin," which specializes in pork Chinese dishes and dumplings. I was craving their roasted pork feet, so I decided to dine there. When I called to make a reservation, they said only outdoor terrace seating was available. It was still a bit chilly in the evening in April, but I thought it would be warm with some alcohol. Here are the dishes I tried: - "Drunk Scallop": Recommended dish of the month, scallops marinated in Shaoxing wine and soy sauce. It was firm on the outside, but soft inside, with a sweet taste and a nice aroma of the wine and soy sauce. - Chinese Sausage: A classic dish for me, with a crispy outer layer and a juicy inside with a hint of sweetness. - Wood Sorrel Miso Dumplings: Recommended dish of the month, steamed dumplings with wood sorrel miso. It was good, but not as flavorful as I expected. - Roasted Pork Feet: Slowly roasted with a sauce, crispy on the outside and tender inside. Still delicious as always. - Gyozas: The restaurant's classic dumplings, both pan-fried and steamed, were delicious as usual. - Shanghai Yakisoba: A perfect dish to pair with alcohol, with firm noodles and a strong garlic flavor, topped with a fried egg and pepper. - Lu Rou Fan: A braised pork dish that tasted similar to the scallops. I went on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and just made it in. It's better to make a reservation if you have a set time. They have three types of shumai: boiled, grilled, and steamed, and you can choose 3 or 5 pieces to enjoy all varieties. The grilled one is recommended. Their original shochu mixed with tea is also delicious.

This time, I was able to achieve my goal of trying the dish I missed last time (^^) First, I ordered the recommended dishes: grilled shumai, boiled shumai, and grilled pork feet. Then, I ordered the Mao Zedong pork nuggets, Lu Rou Fan, and garlic noodles without soup that I had originally planned to try. The Mao Zedong dish was quite flavorful and made me crave some plain white rice. The Lu Rou Fan was one of the most delicious I've had. As for the garlic noodles without soup, it was a bit too salty. It might have been a mistake, so I'll give it another try next time (^^)

I didn't have any plans, so I looked for a place where I could have a daytime drink in Namba. There aren't many places for daytime drinking, so I ended up at a new place called Osaka Shumai Chin-san. It was warm outside, so I ate there. Here's what I had: Chinese-style potatoes (450 yen), simmered gelatin (450 yen), grilled shumai (550 yen). I enjoyed them as snacks with my drinks.

This is the best shumai I've ever had. I noticed it while waiting in line at Fukutaro and decided to try it after my meal. It was so delicious, I was truly impressed. I couldn't just have one, so I definitely want to come back for more. They also had a great selection of Shaoxing wine, and all the dishes were delicious. I felt so happy. My wife was running in the Osaka Marathon, so I stopped by this place to cheer her on. The restaurant had a bold and striking exterior, which made me a bit nervous as I am usually timid. However, I was glad I went in. I had some dumplings and for the first time in my life, I got goosebumps. They were incredibly juicy and delicious. I'm not sure if I can handle a large quantity, but it was truly amazing. I will definitely be coming back.
