I had hojicha and matcha gelato. When I went in the afternoon, there were several types of matcha, but only one was left. Also, most of the drinks were almost sold out, probably because it was hot. Both the hojicha and matcha had a rich aroma and were quite delicious, worth the price. ^^

A little walk from Dazaifu Station, you can see a green building which is the shop called Chawawa. As I like matcha, the green building caught my eye. They offer matcha ice cream, lattes, green tea, and also have a souvenir corner. I got a takeout on that day, but they also have an eat-in space inside. I was able to get matcha to go, and enjoyed the matcha from Yame tea in Fukuoka. It seems like a shop that would be appreciated by people from overseas as well. Next to it, there was a cute design store selling mentaiko, so it might be nice to have some sweets and get mentaiko as a souvenir.

I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine for a prayer and decided to cool down afterwards. I ordered the limited edition "Matcha Gelato Super Premium", which is only available for 50 servings a day. This gelato has a strong bitterness and a sticky texture, perfect for matcha lovers. It's a unique and addictive flavor. I heard there is also a shop in Kawagoe, so I might visit there next time.

I saw it online and it looked delicious, so I decided to go! There were different levels of richness for the matcha ice cream, but most were sold out by around 2pm, so I chose the beginner-friendly No.1 matcha ice cream! It was easy to eat and warmed me up on a hot day.

When I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, I couldn't resist stopping by this shop. The green exterior is very appealing. The Matcha Super Premium, limited to 50 servings per day, is a must-try for matcha lovers with its rich matcha flavor. The drinks available are cold tea and matcha latte. The cold tea has a strong matcha taste, but if you don't like bitterness, you can adjust the sweetness to your liking with the syrups provided. You can also sit and enjoy your drink inside the shop. At the food walk area of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, there is a matcha sweets shop where you can buy items like warabimochi, cookies, and Yame tea. They offer four types of matcha ice cream, with the price increasing based on the intensity of the matcha flavor. This time, I bought the strongest matcha Super Premium and Yame tea. The Super Premium matcha is quite rich and has a bit of bitterness, but overall it's delicious and easy to eat (@￣ρ￣@). When I let my friend, who isn't a big fan of matcha, taste it, they said it was too intense for them to eat. LOL

There were various sweets made with matcha. Among them, I chose something that can be eaten right away. The matcha premium gelato had a nice bitterness and I could taste the flavor of matcha. The warabi mochi was soft and had a good mouthfeel with a nice aftertaste.

After visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, I stopped by "Chawawa" because it was too hot. I was drawn to their matcha gelato, and decided to try the most popular one, Matcha Premium, which has different prices based on the intensity of matcha. I ordered it and enjoyed it in their eat-in area, which was nice and cool. The gelato was rich and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I found a matcha tea shop in the direction of Chikushidai High School from Dazaifu Station, which I hadn't explored much before. The shop had a clean and welcoming atmosphere. This time, I chose a matcha latte. It wasn't too sweet (in fact, it might not have been sweet at all) and was easy to drink. They had syrup available, so if you prefer it sweeter, you can add some. Next time, I'd like to try the warabi mochi!

On April 24, 2022 (Sunday), we went to "Ume no Kura" for lunch. After indulging my daughter, who loves matcha sweets, with her persistent request (she just had to have it!), we arrived around 14:20. The place was bustling with many people that day, and we even saw students who seemed to be on a school trip on the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. It feels like we are gradually being released from the restrictions of the pandemic. I don't like it when it's too crowded, but it's fun when there's a decent amount of people around. Ordered by my daughter (I thought she would order gelato, but she said she wanted to try the matcha latte after looking at the menu). She drank it happily and it looked delicious. - Freshly ground matcha 432 yen [Menu description] Fresh matcha ground in a stone mill on the spot.

I tried gelato where you can choose the intensity of matcha flavor. I ordered the strongest one. It was very delicious.
