Today, I revisited this place in Ibaraki after a long time. It has been since December last year. It was around 8:00 at night, with 2 groups of customers before me and no customers behind me. This time, I decided to try the simmered beef tendon ramen. After a short wait, a bowl of ramen like the one in the photo was served. The soup had a smooth texture with a slightly cloudy appearance. When I took a sip, it was quite oily. The base had a sweet and savory soy sauce flavor, which was quite addictive. The noodles were thin straight noodles with a soft, mature texture. The simmered beef tendon and shredded konjac were seasoned with a sweet and savory flavor, which I believe blended into the soup. The generous amount of stir-fried bean sprouts added a crunchy texture and satisfying bite. Additionally, there were green onions. I found the ramen with beef tendon and shredded konjac to be quite unique. The abundance of bean sprouts gave it a slightly sticky texture, but I enjoyed it so much that I finished every last bit. There are still many menu items I have yet to try, so I will definitely revisit this place again.

In August of Reiwa 2, the Don Don Teishoku restaurant offers Tonkotsu Ramen with Yakimeshi for 750 yen including tax. The taste is as expected from the appearance of the store, with generous portions and delicious flavors. They open at 10:00 am, making it a convenient spot for an early lunch.

Visited this place again with my partner after about a month. It was past 10:00 at night, and the restaurant was empty with only one customer before us and one after us. My partner ordered the clam ramen that I had last time, while I decided to try a new menu item that caught my eye. The ramen arrived shortly after ordering. The soup was slightly cloudy with a smooth texture. When I tasted it, I could feel the spiciness of the red pepper, giving it a unique sweet and spicy flavor that I haven't experienced in other ramen. It was similar to the sauce used in yakiniku, and it was quite addictive. The noodles were thin and straight, slightly soft, which I thought suited well with the hot pot style of this ramen. The ingredients included what seemed like beef offal or small cuts of beef, in a generous portion. Along with finely chopped cabbage and stir-fried chives cooked in the soup. As I continued eating, the spiciness intensified, blending well with the sauce-like soup and ingredients, making it easy to finish the whole bowl. It was a very satisfying meal. There are still more menu items that I'm curious about, so I'm sure I'll be revisiting this place again.

Today, I came here to this shop located along the busy Hanga promenade. I knew it has been around for a long time, but it seems like it has been in business for 44 years already. I arrived at 1:20 pm and there was one customer before me and one after me. The dimly lit and quite old-fashioned interior has a kitchen at the back and a row of about 18 counter seats in the front. The menu is posted above with a wide variety of ramen options and other dishes, giving off a combination of a ramen shop and a set meal shop vibe. I was a bit unsure of what the specialty was, but I ended up ordering the "nightingale soba." There were also side dishes displayed in a glass case on the right side. The broth had a clear appearance with a subtle saltiness that seemed to be made with chicken and hints of seafood flavor. The noodles were thin and straight, similar to Hakata tonkotsu ramen, but lacked firmness, feeling slightly overcooked. The toppings included thin slices of traditional char siu, boiled egg, bamboo shoots, seaweed, narutomaki, bean sprouts, and green onions, making it quite a hearty bowl. I felt that a sprinkle of pepper would complement the soup, but surprisingly, there was no pepper shaker available. I left some soup behind and finished the meal. Overall, the dish felt a bit slippery, possibly due to the cold toppings. The service was okay. Thank you for the meal. Accessibility note: Not wheelchair accessible, Western-style toilet available on the left side, no parking available.

I was rejected by a certain shop, so I moved and came here. It had been 5 and a half years since my last visit. It was around 9:00 at night, with only one group of customers inside and no one behind. I chose the clam ramen from the various new menu items. After a short wait, the ramen in the photo was served. The soup had a clear, light color, reminiscent of a simple broth. It had an overall mild saltiness, with a slight hint of clam flavor. The noodles were thin and straight, slightly soft, with a chewy texture. There was a generous amount of clams in the bowl. There was no chashu, only green onions and bamboo shoots as other toppings, keeping it simple. This clam ramen was very different from recent clam-based ramen, being extremely simple. I look forward to trying the clam ramen with shijimi next time.

The portion size is large and filling. This restaurant offers affordable meals with generous portions, and the fried chicken is served fresh. The ramen is decent, but the set meals are highly recommended. It's a great place to satisfy a big appetite. Thank you for the meal!

I visited "Ramen Taisho Dondon" in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. I always found this shop intriguing when driving north on the Chuo Ring Line. It is located right by the Sawaaraki Station on the Osaka Monorail. I was drawn to the nostalgic atmosphere of the shop, reminiscent of the Showa era. I ordered the "Motsu Nabe Ramen" for 800 yen. The bowl that was served was as huge as the ones at "Mario Nagare" in Nara. The ramen had cabbage, leeks, and stir-fried beef tripe in a spicy miso broth...or so I thought. Unfortunately, the beef tripe turned out to be just thinly sliced beef. If they were out of beef tripe, they should have informed me it was unavailable instead of serving a different dish. The thin noodles had a chewy texture that wasn't to my liking. Thank you for the meal.

I went to eat. This time I went alone. Salt Ramen: The taste is typical salt ramen. If you eat other types, the flavor becomes dull and loses its deliciousness. Spicy Ramen: It has a thin clam soup base, good to eat first or with a light side dish. Taste: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Quantity: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Soy Sauce Ramen: It's different from regular soy sauce ramen. It's sweet. It has a pleasant sweetness. Taste: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Quantity: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Spicy Ramen: It's like stamina ramen but spicier. It would be very spicy for an average person. If you like spicy food, you can enjoy it. The amount of noodles was about 1.5-2 times more than the salt ramen and soy sauce ramen. Taste: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Quantity: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ 6 Spiciness: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ 6 *Please note that taste and quantity judgments are subjective, so please take them as a reference.

Bitter curry that doesn't feel like homemade but rather like something served in a café.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a college student, so it's been quite a long time. Whenever I come here, I always order the miso ramen and fried rice set. This restaurant offers a variety of ramen options, so you might have a hard time deciding which one to choose, but I highly recommend trying the miso ramen. Personally, I always go for the miso ramen. I may be biased from my younger days, but I give it a 5-star rating. I hope they continue to thrive and stay healthy for a long time!

Visited at the beginning of 2018, around 2 pm on a Thursday. There were no other customers when I arrived, just the two mothers who usually run the place. The daily special was ginger pork set, but this time I wanted something hearty, so I went with the classic (lol) pork cutlet ramen set. The set includes a pork cutlet set meal and a ramen in a regular size. You can choose the soup, and this time I went with the Kyushu (white broth). First came the pork cutlet set. While I was eating the salad and pickles, the ramen was brought to me. I finished the ramen first before the noodles got soggy (lol). It wasn't exceptionally delicious, but considering the price, it was great value for money! The pork cutlet was decent, and it definitely filled me up! You can get a refill of rice, but with this set, it might be a bit much. I wonder if I should have gone with the daily special instead? But the pork cutlet ramen!! ❤(///∇///) I occasionally crave it! Thank you for the meal! I still haven't achieved my goal of coming here at night to have a drink! This year, for sure!

It's a late dinner at 10:15 PM, and I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about. I ordered the Katsu-men set meal, which is Kyushu ramen. The ramen is just a normal tonkotsu ramen, lacking a bit of richness, but it comes in a generous portion. The tonkatsu is a bit thin, but the flavor is good. You can get a rice refill. It's really helpful that they are open late at night. I'm full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal. ★★ Business hours have changed ★★ 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM

Yes, yes! The other day, I went to a ramen restaurant called Ramen Taisho Dondon at the Minami Ibaraki location. Lately, I've been eating a lot of ramen, but on this day, I decided to try something different! Even though it's a ramen restaurant, I tried their plate udon! (laughs) Some people were surprised that I didn't eat ramen at a ramen restaurant, but I just felt like having plate udon that day. The plate udon had a large portion size with plenty of vegetables, so it felt healthy. The taste was light and refreshing, and overall, it was delicious!

Visited for the first time in a while on a Wednesday in June at 2:30 pm. I was debating between the daily special shrimp chili set and the tonkatsu set, but I had a craving for tonkatsu since last night (laughs). Even though the portions were generous, I was still hungry, so I went with the tonkatsu ramen set. I ordered the Kyushu-style (pork bone) ramen. First, the ramen arrived, followed shortly by the tonkatsu set. The side dish was fish nanban-zuke. The ramen portion was average-sized and the tonkatsu set was just as generous as always. The cost performance is excellent here! They have sports newspapers, magazines, and manga to keep you entertained while waiting. The pork in the tonkatsu had a bit too much fat, but I was satisfied with the portion. I am full. The ramen was nothing special, but it wasn't bad either (laughs). The soup had a sweet pork bone flavor. The toppings were simple with plenty of bean sprouts. They have a wide variety of ramen options and all of them come in large portions. Thank you for the meal.

The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles with a good texture. The char siu pork has the right amount of firmness and saltiness. The restaurant also offers a variety of set meal options. The store is open 24 hours and serves breakfast ramen as well."

In December 2016, I visited the restaurant for lunch around 1 pm. I ordered the Katsu-men set meal with a choice of ramen soup from Kyushu. The ramen soup was a milky white broth with a generous portion. The fried cutlet was cooked perfectly. Rice refills were free, but I opted for the large size from the start. I left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal. In November 2016, on a Thursday around 1 pm, I had the daily lunch special for 650 yen. The special of the day was stir-fried bell peppers and beef. It came with seasoned seaweed, miso soup, pickles, and a small side dish, with free refills of rice. The small side dish was marinated sashimi. The generous portion for this price was delightful. They also offer oden and grilled chicken. I might come back for drinks in the evening. Thank you for the meal. Before July 2016, this restaurant used to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but recently they started closing on Tuesdays. I often come here for lunch. They offer daily specials, sashimi set meals, and ramen sets at affordable prices with free rice refills. I usually order the tonkatsu with salad, a side dish, pickles, seaweed, rice, and ramen (choices of salt, soy sauce, miso, or Kyushu style). The regular size is quite filling. The tonkatsu ramen set costs 850 yen. Today's daily special was pork cutlet, so I chose that for 680 yen. Free rice refills are available. The variety of ramen options is extensive. They also have sashimi and side dishes in the fridge. There are many a la carte options, making it a good place for drinks in the evening. There is a banquet hall on the second floor. The food may not be exceptionally delicious, but it is affordable and filling. That's why I keep coming back (laughs). In April 2014, I visited this 24-hour restaurant that I was curious about in the neighborhood. I had lunch there. The place is a bit old and has a slightly musty smell, but the prices are affordable and the portions are generous. I ordered the katsu-men set meal with a choice of salt ramen. The portion size was regular, not small! (laughs) It cost 850 yen with free rice refills. I left feeling full. They offer clam ramen, various curries, plenty of side dishes, and deli items. You can also have drinks here. I liked it. Thank you for the meal! They have a wide selection of a la carte izakaya menu items, so it's also good for evening drinks.

The most popular item at the ramen shop is the miso ramen. You can add a set meal or a combo. They are probably open 24 hours. The plate udon is also popular. The ramen set meal costs around 800-1000 yen, but the portion is large so be careful. If you're not hungry, you might be overwhelmed. They also have a daily special without ramen, so I've been eating that lately. The taste is average, not bad. I usually go there when I want to eat until I'm full.

The structure of the place was familiar to me as I had passed by it before, but I hadn't paid much attention until now. It seems they offer hearty dishes here. I decided to try the B-grade gourmet dish, the Katsu Curry Ramen. The portion was quite large, about 1.5 times the size of a regular ramen bowl. The soup was on the light side, and the thin noodles paired well with it. The toppings included onions and carrots, with a slight spiciness to the curry. Considering the original Curry Ramen is priced at 750 yen, adding a cutlet for an extra 100 yen is a good deal. The Katsu Ramen Set, which includes rice and a side dish, is even more value for money.

On my way home from work, there was a shop with a unique atmosphere that I had been wanting to visit. After reading reviews, I became even more eager to go and finally visited yesterday after working late. Inside, it had a very traditional feel with a long counter, a kitchen in the back, and handwritten menus that reminded me of a Chinese restaurant. Even though it was late, they still offered set meals. I decided to order the ramen set meal. The rice came out first and it was delicious, with a nice flavor of dried fish! The ramen, which I chose as salt flavor, was just okay, nothing special. The man next to me left his ramen untouched... maybe it's to prevent road rage for truck drivers? The taste of the ramen was forgettable, similar to a typical Chinese noodle soup. The bill came out to be less than 1000 yen. If I have the chance to visit again, I would like to try a different set meal.
