I went to try authentic Taiwanese tofu pudding for the first time in my life! I haven't been to Taiwan yet, so I was curious about what tofu pudding is. My friend took me to try it, and here is what I ate: - Nan Suo Tofu Pudding You can choose from 4 toppings, and I added one more for an additional 100 yen. The toppings included red beans, sweet potato mochi, Job's tears, coffee jelly, and a black sugar jelly-like substance. I forgot the official names of the toppings, but they were all hand-made with a gentle sweetness. I ate it smoothly and it was delicious. - Pudding Azuki Milk The pudding was shaped like a mountain, standing tall and majestic. The pudding had a good flavor, and the caramel was pleasantly bitter. There were plenty of red beans inside the shaved ice! My friend couldn't finish it all. The restaurant is quietly located in Tenroku residential area, but it was always busy with customers. Some people were also getting takeout. The customers seemed like regulars, ordering confidently. I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

I was drawn to the pudding and decided to make my first shaved ice debut of the year. Nan Suo Dou Hua is a cafe that offers Taiwanese sweets such as dou hua and pudding. You can add toppings such as tapioca, matcha, and red beans to the dou hua and shaved ice. However, they start cleaning up the toppings around 6:00 pm as they close at 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm, so it's better to go early. The toppings available include red beans, mung beans, taro, peanuts, barley, Job's tears, traditional Taiwanese hunkwe, brown sugar hunkwe, red beans, pearls (tapioca), and grass jelly, among others. I tried the shaved ice without any toppings this time. The shaved ice looked impressive and had a coarse texture, while the pudding was creamy and soft. The red beans were generously sprinkled on top and also mixed inside the shaved ice, allowing for a satisfying experience until the end. The portion size was substantial, making it a tough battle for shaved ice beginners. In the end, it became more like eating pudding with shaved ice rather than pudding shaved ice. For drinks, you can choose soy milk, soy milk tea, Taiwanese beer, or self-service lemon water. The battle between half-melted ice and plenty of red beans can be challenging. Sharing dou hua and shaved ice with another person might be a good idea for those who can't finish it alone. The service was a bit strict overall, with minimal interaction. Nan Suo Dou Hua is a place where you can enjoy pudding, shaved ice, and Taiwanese sweets all at once. Thank you for the meal!

Visited Nanjo Tofu Pudding for the first time. When I arrived on a weekday afternoon, most of the seats were already taken. Upon entering, the staff advised me to secure a seat before placing an order for dine-in customers. Luckily, I secured a spot at the counter and then lined up at the register. I ordered the Nanjo Tofu Pudding (850 yen), which allows you to choose 4 toppings. I selected taro, sweet potato dumplings, fun kueh (Taiwanese jelly), and red beans. After placing my order and paying, I received my dessert to enjoy at my seat. Just a note, water and towels are self-service. The syrup on the pudding was not too sweet, which I found pleasant. Initially, I thought it might need more sweetness, but the subtle flavor worked well. The toppings enhanced the natural sweetness of the ingredients, making it easy to finish. For those who prefer sweeter flavors, choosing toppings like red beans might be a good idea. My companion ordered the Milk Pudding Red Bean Shaved Ice, which was served in a huge portion (laughs). The amount of red beans was overwhelming! The staff provided friendly and attentive service. I will definitely return when I crave tofu pudding again.

When I ordered the base, I was told that I could choose up to four toppings freely. It was my first time trying Taiwanese sweets, so I asked the staff for recommendations. They suggested that having two bean-based toppings and two dumpling-based toppings would create a balanced and nice combination. The toppings I chose were red beans, soybeans, tapioca, and sweet potato dumplings, if I remember correctly. The overall taste was gentle and the sweetness of ingredients like red beans stood out. It seems like Japanese people would enjoy it. I went on a weekday for lunch, so the shop was not crowded and I could sit down comfortably and enjoy my meal.

I went to a shop located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk northwest from Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station...⚘⚘⚘... "Nan Suo Dou Hua" Osaka City Kita Ward Honjo Higashi 2-7-13 Grace Umeda Higashi 1F ⏰12:00-20:00...⚘⚘⚘... I chose the "soy milk dou hua" where you can select 4 toppings of your choice and have it with soy milk syrup. I chose taro, shiratama, kintoki beans, and fun kue (bracken rice cake dyed with gardenia) for toppings. It cost 800 yen in total. Overall, it was not too sweet. I should have chosen a sweeter topping. The fun kue had a chewy texture and was delicious. There were several types of toppings to choose from, making it a bit difficult to decide. There were also several types of syrup available. It's a healthy and enjoyable Taiwanese dessert. I will definitely go back to try more.

The tofu pudding is quite authentic here. Both the staff and customers are mostly from the original place. There is a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Today, I had almond tofu, a Hong Kong-style jelly, Job's tears, and grass jelly. It was the perfect afternoon snack!

My friend found this place on a Chinese social media platform called Xiaohongshu and had been there a few times before. They said it was really delicious, so they took me there this time. The restaurant is located in a quiet residential area northwest of Tenjinbashi-suji Rokuchome Station. The interior is stylish, and the kitchen is neatly arranged with toppings for the douhua. I ordered the Nansuo Douhua, which is the restaurant's specialty. My friend had the grass jelly. Both dishes allow you to choose from four different toppings. They are served with a lightly sweet syrup. The taste is so gentle and delightful. I vaguely remember having douhua in Taipei about 10 years ago, but I can't recall the exact taste. However, I think this douhua is so delicious that I would want to eat it again and again.

It's been a while since my last visit. The syrup seemed a bit diluted, affecting the perfect balance of flavors. The surface of the pho was dry, impacting the texture. I love this place, so if something has changed, I hope they can improve it. The peanut dumplings were delicious!

■ Purin Azuki Milk Ice ¥1,200 We were full from lunch, so we ordered one to share between two people. (Note: Apparently, on weekends, each person must order one item.) The purin had a firm yet smooth texture, and it was really delicious - I had been wanting to try it for a while! The large azuki beans were sweet and plentiful. The ice at the bottom was not fluffy but rather firm, and light. It was definitely tasty, but if I had to say, I would have liked a bit more milk poured over it. * Around 3:30 PM on a weekday, no waiting time. No lines. Payment method: PayPay. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this shop for the first time because it looked photogenic. The location is a bit hard to find. The interior of the shop is simple. I ordered the South Tofu Pudding. The taste is light overall. The taro is chewy. Personally, I think the syrup could be twice as sweet!

As a lover of shaved ice, I thought it would be best to visit on a weekday. It was around noon on a weekday, and there were no customers dining in. It seemed like most people were ordering takeout, as there were quite a few customers coming in. I ordered the Pudding Azuki Milk Shaved Ice for 1200 yen. It looked amazing, but I was worried the wobbly pudding might slide off the ice. The ice was crunchy and sweet, with a lot of red beans on top. It was a bit too much for one person. On top of that, there was a firm pudding. The pudding was delicious, but I wasn't sure if it needed to be paired with the red beans and ice. It felt like it was made just for the visual impact. The topping of taro balls was chewy and very tasty. Since this is a Taiwanese dessert shop, it might be better to try their tofu pudding or grass jelly. (All the customers ordering takeout were getting Taiwanese desserts.)

First visit. I ordered the summer limited edition red bean pudding shaved ice. The shaved ice that came out had more red beans than ice, generously piled on top, with a firm pudding on top of that. It looks sweet, but to my surprise, when I tried it, the pudding and red beans weren't too sweet, so I could eat more and more. It was delicious. It's a authentic Taiwanese sweets shop where you can choose toppings for tofu pudding, so I want to go try tofu pudding next time. I have awakened to Taiwanese sweets here.

Today I tried the lemon tofu pudding. I love lemons, haha. It's served with a gentle sweet syrup and topped with lemon. Enjoying it with the syrup and lemon mixed together creates a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. It's a delightful experience to savor the different flavors separately. I thought there were dried lemons on top in the photo, but it turned out to be slices of fresh lemon. I enjoyed it while admiring the cherry blossoms from afar. I would rate this experience a 3.3.

A shop where you can eat Taiwanese desserts. Started with "original tofu pudding". I had the plain one. My friend ordered one with various toppings, so I tried some of that as well. The plain one was simple - a slightly sweet tofu-like texture. It was delicious when mixed with toppings like red bean paste and tapioca. It's cold, so it's soothing on a hot day. A simple but very tasty Taiwanese sweet. I really liked it. It would have been even better if it was a bit cheaper. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop that I have visited many times. I tend to go there more often in the summer. They have various toppings and the taste is easy to eat and delicious. When I go out for a meal in Temma or Nakazakicho, I often choose this place for dessert. I haven't been there recently, but I want to go again.

During my trip to Taiwan, I was deeply impressed by the hunkwe topping on the tofu pudding and have become a big fan of Taiwanese sweets. This shop is owned by someone from Tainan, so I went there in search of authentic flavors. The tofu pudding was easy to eat and incredibly delicious. The hunkwe was not as chewy as the one I had in Taiwan, but it was still very tasty. If you live nearby, you must definitely visit this place!

Recently popular Taiwanese snack. This type of trendy snack is priced at around 800 yen. You can choose your toppings, so I chose toppings with a Taiwanese feel. Grass jelly, sweet potato balls, tapioca, and yellow jelly (probably aiyu jelly) were included, making it quite filling with its chewy texture. The black syrup sauce is refreshing, making it easy to eat. Not too sweet, so it doesn't leave you feeling heavy.

The tapioca boom has settled down, and now Taiwanese food and Taiwanese sweets are popular. I found a favorite Taiwanese sweet at a tapioca specialty store. I visited a Douhua (tofu pudding) specialty store called "Nansho Douhua". It is located about a 6-minute walk from the Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station on the Osaka Metro. I ordered the Nansho Douhua, which allows you to choose 4 toppings from a selection of about 20. I chose mung beans, traditional Taiwanese Fun Guo, purple yam balls, and grass jelly. The Fun Guo was new to me and had a mochi-like texture. The mung beans, grass jelly, and purple yam balls added variety to the dish. The Douhua itself was smooth and light, similar to soy milk pudding. It was a delicious treat that can be enjoyed in various ways depending on your preferred toppings. I dined in, but I noticed some customers coming in for takeout as well. This is a great spot nearby. Thank you for the meal!

This is a Taiwanese dessert shop located in Tenjinbashi Rokuchome. They serve a dessert called "Douhua," which is basically soft tofu commonly enjoyed with sweet syrup in southern China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. I had been curious about this shop since I heard about it opening, but I hesitated to visit on weekends due to the long lines. However, one day when I finished work early, I remembered that they are open at night as well, so I decided to give it a try. The nearest station is Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station. When you exit the station, cross the intersection towards the northwest. Look for the FamilyMart as a landmark. Walk straight west past the FamilyMart and turn right just before the traffic light. Continue north and you will pass by Ganges Curry, FamilyMart, and Nowadoco on your left. Keep going until you pass Honjo Kawasaki Park (a small park) and then make a left turn. When you see neon lights on the first floor of an apartment building, that's the shop. It took me less than 10 minutes to walk from Tenjinbashi Rokuchome. The atmosphere inside the shop is cozy with counter seats by the window and table seats for 2 or 4 people. It has a stylish vibe with exposed concrete walls. It's a self-service shop, so you start by placing your order. The menu mainly consists of Douhua with various toppings to choose from. I ordered the "Nansuo Douhua" which allows you to select 4 toppings. I chose grass jelly, mung beans, peanuts, and sweet potato balls. There are also options like tapioca, taro balls, and red beans. You can choose between cold or warm Douhua, and I opted for warm this time. The Douhua comes with syrup on the side, which is also warm. The Douhua is incredibly soft like tofu, and it's a comforting taste and warmth for the body. The toppings are delicious too. The price may seem a bit high for a self-service style, but considering the rising cost of ingredients and overall prices, it's understandable. They provide self-service water and towels at the entrance. The staff maintains a good balance of being attentive but not intrusive. It was a pleasant place to relax, especially since it wasn't crowded. I'll definitely stop by again after work.

I want to eat grass jelly and tofu pudding that I had in Taiwan. So, I wandered from Nakazakicho and ended up here. I circled around the park and arrived in front of the store... Surprisingly clean - I thought it would be a renovated old folk house. It seems that Korean cafes and Taiwanese cafes are like this nowadays. I chose the tofu pudding with 4 types of toppings. The price was reasonable and the portion was just right. It was very delicious. The grass jelly I had in Taiwan had a strong herbal medicine-like taste, but this one was lighter. Compared to the Taiwanese cafes in Umeda and Namba, this place has a hidden gem feel and I recommend it.
