Wow! First visit~(*’ω’ノノ゙☆パチパチ I came all the way from Gunma to Osaka!! (laughs) I decided to stay in Shin-Osaka for a night before my business trip, and although I love snacks, I was craving ramen! So, when I searched for ramen in Shin-Osaka, I found this place with overwhelmingly high ratings!! It's a famous shop, after all. I arrived around 8:40 PM and walked about 20 minutes from the hotel. When I got to the front of the shop, there was a line! Well, I was prepared to wait in line since I had read the reviews. But wow, this area is so lively! Honestly, it's a bit intimidating. (bitter smile) In Kanto (I'm not sure about the city center or major cities), it's rare to find places open after 8:00 PM, especially for dinner. It's more focused on lunch hours. Anyway, I had to wait about 20 minutes before being directed to wait about 15 meters away from the shop near the station. Why? Well, rules are rules. You have to follow the local customs. Yes. But even after 9:00 PM, this place is popular with middle school students too! Osaka is so energetic! (shivers) I waited in line for about 20 minutes and then got to the front of the shop in about 5 minutes! It was faster than I expected. The shop, including the kitchen, is quite spacious. How many staff members? About 7-8? Impressive. And they had 5 large monitors playing a live performance by Mr. Children!! (laughs) They must really love them. I ordered the "Original with seasoned egg topping and thin sliced pork belly". After waiting inside the shop for about 15 minutes, my bowl arrived! The soup first... It's mainly soy sauce-based with a hint of sweetness... The menu mentions plenty of bonito, but I feel like the "sweetness" is more prominent. Maybe it's mirin or something... not a vegetable-like sweetness. Next, the noodles. They are thick whole wheat noodles. Chewy and springy. Good texture and bite, but not overly wheaty. The pork belly is tender but nothing special. And it also had thick bamboo shoots and chopped green onions. And just like that, I finished it all in no time! Hmm... maybe I had too high expectations... ( ̄~ ̄;) Well, I want to be honest and write more, but... (bitter smile) I don't want to offend the people in Kansai, or... well, the dashi culture is different between Kanto and Kansai. The staff were very young and full of energy, and I could feel a glimpse of Kansai's food culture. That's all, thank you for the meal! m(_ _)m ===========
