I visited "Tsutenkaku," "Shinsekai," and "Jan-Jan Yokocho" for the first time. Unfortunately, Tsutenkaku was not lit up, which was a bit disappointing. After satisfying my hunger with "Tempura Udon" at "Sanuki Matsuya" in Jan-Jan Yokocho, we decided to explore Shinsekai and Jan-Jan Yokocho again. Both areas were lined with numerous kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) restaurants, resembling a kushikatsu street. The prices varied at each restaurant, making it difficult to decide where to eat. However, we eventually settled on "Kushikatsu Daruma" at the "Dobutsu-mae" branch, a popular kushikatsu chain in Osaka. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere, with many foreign tourists. It was my first time at a kushikatsu restaurant, and I wanted to try it at a specialty shop in Osaka. Ordering was done through a mobile order, which was also a first for me, but I managed to place the order successfully. We ordered a "Large Draft Beer" for me, "Oolong Tea" for my partner, a "Jan-Jan Set," "Chicken Cartilage," and "Onigiri." The dishes and drinks arrived promptly, and we took the customary commemorative photo. The beer was refreshing, especially on a hot day. The "Jan-Jan Set" included 9 kushikatsu skewers and "Doteyaki." The kushikatsu skewers included various options like pork belly, sausage, and asparagus. Cabbage was served separately for 100 yen per plate to reduce food waste. The sauce was not as thick as expected, but it was tasty. However, the kushikatsu skewers were small, and we felt they lacked volume. We also felt that the prices were a bit high, reaching almost 3800 yen for the meal. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the freshly fried kushikatsu. If we visit again, we would like to try the "No Double-Dipping Sauce" (240 yen). After paying at the counter, we received a few stickers from Kushikatsu Daruma, which we are considering where to stick.
