Visited at 11:00 on a regular day. There was no line outside the store, and only about 5 people inside, so it was a good decision to come before the lunch rush. Purchased the most basic old-fashioned ramen for 850 yen from the ticket machine. Wanted to order half-fried rice as well, but it seemed they didn't offer it, so I just got the ramen and took a seat. The food was served in about 3 minutes. The ramen bowl filled to the brim with soup had a strong pork bone aroma even before tasting it, which was nice. When I slurped the soup, the pork bone aroma hit first, followed by depth and umami. It was really delicious. Noteworthy was the generous amount of fried lard added, which brought out sweetness and umami, making it very tasty. The noodles were of a moderate thickness, similar to typical Hakata ramen, and were easy to slurp up. Even the regular size had a decent volume. Toppings included chashu, green onions, boiled egg, and menma. The menma in Hakata ramen was fresh and tasty. The chashu was quite thin, so if you want a substantial portion, it's better to order it separately. Also, I thought there would be half a boiled egg, but it was thinly sliced like for a salad, so if you want to eat a boiled egg, ordering it as a topping is a must. It was quite delicious, so I ordered an extra serving of noodles with cash. Even with the added noodles, the taste remained consistent and I enjoyed it until the end.
Overall, about 15 years ago when I had it in Kurume, I found it quite porky and had a negative impression, but this time it was overwritten with a memory of deliciousness. Whether the restaurant's taste has been upgraded or my taste preferences have changed, I'm not sure. Nonetheless, I felt it was one of the top delicious ramen in the Tenjin area, so I would definitely like to stop by again when I visit Hakata. Thank you for the meal.
