I visited this ramen shop for the first time while in Chikushino. After sanitizing my hands and undergoing temperature checks, I purchased my meal ticket. As a first-timer, I ordered the simplest tonkotsu ramen and a limited-time chicken shoyu ramen that has been popular in recent years. First, I tried the rich tonkotsu ramen. The toppings included chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions, a simple and favorite trio of mine. Despite expecting a strong pork bone flavor based on the sign saying Kurume ramen, the soup was surprisingly not too porky, rich yet easy to eat with a hint of sweetness. The chashu was incredibly tender, made from pork belly, and one large piece was served. Even with just one piece, the size was satisfying! The noodles were thin and firm, providing a nice texture. Next, I tried the limited-time white shoyu ramen. The toppings included gold leaf, which was a unique touch. The ramen had chicken breast and pork belly chashu, a simple yet different presentation compared to the tonkotsu ramen. The soup was clear and based on white shoyu, with a savory umami taste. The flavor was strong due to the white shoyu seasoning, making it perfect for pouring over rice like an ochazuke. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles, perfectly complementing the soup. The finely grated yuzu peel topping added a nice fragrance to the dish. I was impressed by the variety of ramen options available at this shop, as well as the deliciousness of each dish. The ability to choose between different types of ramen based on one's mood makes this shop convenient and highly recommended. Additionally, they offer other menu items such as chicken shoyu ramen, rice sets, fried rice, fried chicken, and gyoza, making it a well-rounded and service-oriented establishment.
