狸ののぐり
Friday at noon. I made a reservation for a table and met up with my close friend who has a small appetite. It's nice to be able to drink with friends now that the COVID restrictions have been lifted. We were led to a cozy second-floor table with dim lighting and stylish light bulbs, seating ourselves across from each other. The atmosphere was lovely and got us excited! We ordered the daily course menu for 2,200 yen each, which included appetizers, soup, today's special dish, soba noodles, dessert, and coffee. The estimated time was about an hour and a half. First, we ordered beer! Sapporo Perfect Classic draft beer for 680 yen each. Cheers! It was delicious to drink beer with my friend after a long time. The appetizers included salmon quiche, chicken ham, smelt marinated, and leafy vegetables. The conversation flowed along with the appetizers, and we ordered two more beers. The fish broth soup was next, and we enjoyed it slowly as we waited for the dishes to arrive. We ordered glasses of white wine for 710 yen each. The special dish was fried cod and burdock with américaine sauce, served with herb bread. The fluffy cod with rich shrimp sauce and crispy fried burdock was delightful. We couldn't stop chatting, so we ordered more wine. We had soba noodles made with seaweed, which were black and twisted. They were easy to eat due to their short length, and we tried them with wasabi and nori, but they didn't have much addictive quality. For dessert, we had Catalan cream, chocolate cake, and soft drinks. We chose yuzu tea in both iced and hot versions. We spent a total of 2 and a half hours there and paid a total of 9,960 yen for two people. We didn't feel rushed and had a great time chatting leisurely, but the serving pace of the restaurant was slower, taking 2 and a half hours. It might be better to avoid it if you're in a hurry. We ended up drinking more than we planned, which was both good and bad. I was surprised that my friend with a small appetite finished everything.
