In the middle of a drinking street, there is a diner that also serves lunch! This place sounds appealing, I would definitely visit if it was nearby. We had trouble finding the parking for lunch, but we were told we could park in the garage next to the shop where a flag was standing. Now, let's enter! The interior of the shop has a lot of character. A staff member will guide you to your table. Oh my! There are ashtrays on the tables! Is this place also an izakaya at night? If so, then smoking is allowed. It may be difficult to smoke when there are other customers around. This means you can have a smoke after your meal. I ordered the tuna cutlet set for 1,100 yen. It may be a bit small, but it tasted delicious! Especially when eaten with tartar sauce and tonkatsu sauce. It's lighter than tonkatsu. The side dishes included pickles, cold tofu, and salad. Free refills for rice and miso soup, how generous! Although I didn't do it this time, the grilled fish set also looked delicious. As we were leaving, we were offered a lighter, which was great because I've been struggling to find one lately. It cost 1,100 yen including the lighter. Thank you for the meal.

Writing reviews on Tabelog earns you exclusive T-Point rewards, but these points have an expiration date so it's a shame to let them go to waste. I found it inconvenient that there are limited options for using these points. This time, I decided to visit Yoichi for a drive. I made a reservation online a few days in advance and went to "Umaimonya Yoichi" for lunch. The restaurant had a fisherman's hut atmosphere with fishing flags hanging inside. I ordered the "Hamaguri Seafood Bowl @1,650 yen," "Sashimi Set Meal @1,320 yen," and "Dashimaki Tamago @660 yen." The "Hamaguri Seafood Bowl" included fresh ingredients like hamaguri, botan shrimp, akami, hamachi, and salmon. The hamaguri was plump and fresh, and the soup, pickles, and side dish complemented it well. The sashimi set had kanpachi, buri, hirame, akami, and salmon, all fresh and delicious. However, the rice was watery and lukewarm, lacking in texture and flavor. The "Dashimaki Tamago" was sweet and fluffy, a standout dish. Overall, the lunch had good value with free rice refills and self-service coffee. It was a shame that the quality of the rice didn't match the quality of the ingredients. The restaurant seemed to be popular among locals, with a user-friendly business style like offering weekend late-night hours and lunchtime drinking menus. If given the chance, I would dine there again. Thank you for the meal.

Hamaguri seafood bowl for 1650 yen in Yoichi in March 2023! Just a 5-minute walk from the station, this lively seafood izakaya is owned by the "Seikaimaru" bar district. It may look like a chain izakaya from the outside, but I think this is the only one. It's housed in a renovated old apartment with a unique layout. Open for lunch and dinner on weekdays, with no breaks on weekends. They offer great lunch sets until 2 pm, with unlimited rice and miso soup. The seafood is a collaboration of fish sourced from Kanto and local Hokkaido ingredients, making it a must-try for locals! I recommend ordering the "Hamaguri seafood bowl" - it's so luxurious with a generous amount of fresh seafood covering the rice. The large clams are thick and chewy, the fatty tuna is amazing, and there's also amberjack, yellowtail, and other various fish. The freshness is top-notch! The clam soup is gentle and comforting, and the pickles and chilled tofu are a nice palate cleanser. My husband had the "grilled fish set meal," which came with sashimi and fried items - very satisfying. They even offer free Nescafe coffee capsules after the meal! This hidden gem is cheap, delicious, and not crowded. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On this day, the town was very crowded. My wife and I visited the restaurant for lunch, and there were no customers when we arrived, but it quickly filled up with many people. The background music was traditional Japanese folk music played on a shamisen, which created a nice atmosphere. I ordered the tuna cutlet set meal, and my wife ordered the clam and seafood rice bowl. They brought out the wrong dish at first, but they quickly corrected it. The tuna cutlet was delicious, especially the rice. My wife also enjoyed her clam and seafood rice bowl, finishing it completely. The tuna cutlet set meal cost 1000 yen, and the clam and seafood rice bowl cost 1500 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Visited for lunch in early March 2022 in Yoichi Town, the main attraction being the evening izakaya "Umaimon-ya Yoichi Branch". The location is close to the station but a bit hard to find in a small alley, so please check the map on Tabelog for confirmation. There seems to be no parking lot, so please make your own arrangements. The lunch menu is limited, and although I initially thought about getting a seafood bowl, I was hesitant because it didn't have vinegared rice. As I pondered, the waitress whispered in my ear, "Personally, I like the katsudon." So, I decided on that. The katsudon costs 1,000 yen for lunch, and 1,200 yen for dinner. True to Yoichi, the pork cutlet is made with locally sourced barley-fed pork from Kitajima Farm, making the meat delicious. Depending on where you eat, the meat can be either tender or not, which is a bit of a mystery. The rice texture is just right for a bowl, and the egg is slightly runny, which is perfect. The broth is slightly sweet and not too salty, which is also good. The only downside was that the onion was slightly crunchy. Overall, it's a pretty excellent katsudon! The waitress's whispered recommendation was spot on! Made with barley-fed pork and served with a side dish, pickles, and miso soup for 1,000 yen, it's a good deal. Grateful for finding a katsudon that I truly enjoyed after a long time!

Nightlife in Yoichi. Soup Curry Kaizoku-san is located across the street. There is a parking lot, but the signage is confusing, it's actually on the opposite side of Kaizoku-san. The exterior has a lively atmosphere, with a youthful vibe. The background music is also energetic. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious inside, with table seating extending deep into the back. Despite being across from Kaizoku-san, there are proper partitions, ensuring privacy. You can choose between hot and cold tea, and the cold tea is served generously. The sashimi set meal costs 1200 yen including tax and is beautifully presented. It feels like a luxurious meal, especially for dinner. The sashimi selection includes kinmedai, sawara, and suzuki, which are rare in Hokkaido. The tuna is like chutoro. It's surprising to find kinmedai in Yoichi! The freshness of the fish is commendable. It feels like you're sailing to Choshi, and there is even a tuna festival in September. While there may be limited local ingredients, it may not satisfy tourists, but it's a rare treat for Hokkaido residents. The side dishes were also delicious. The grilled fish set from the lunch menu allows you to choose from mackerel, salmon, and for an additional 200 yen, sawara. The mackerel was particularly impressive, with a rich flavor and served with salad, fried fish, and sashimi. All of this for 800 yen is a great deal! Plus, you can have unlimited rice and miso soup during lunch, which is very generous. The only downside was that the rice could have been tastier. The service was excellent, and I left satisfied after enjoying delicious fish. Highly recommended! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I used this restaurant for lunch before visiting Nikka. I was very curious about the kama-meshi, but I was worried it would take too long and I might not make it in time for my next appointment, so I had the tempura set meal instead. I was happy to see that there were more fish tempura than vegetables.

"I had the tuna cutlet set meal (lunch) for 1200 yen! It was so delicious that I ended up getting a second serving of rice. I'm thinking of trying the grilled fish set meal next time."
