The atmosphere of the restaurant and the dishes were lovely. The food was surprisingly hearty and delicious. My partner and I had the herbal hot pot followed by porridge, tea leaf fried rice with water dumplings, and finished with coffee shaved ice. The herbal hot pot was full of vegetables, tofu, and water dumplings to warm you up. It tasted even better when eaten with the sauce. The tea leaf fried rice had a subtle sweetness and was a gentle and unique dish. The last order is at 7 pm, so it's best to start early. Oh, and the coffee shaved ice was also incredibly delicious! I would love to come back for lunch next time to try the braised pork rice. The staff were kind and wonderful, and they shared a lot of interesting tea stories. It's a place I definitely want to visit again.

We were looking for an ethnic restaurant near Emisucho, possibly our first time trying Taiwanese cuisine. We found a colorful sign and cute exterior. We were seated and given a menu, but no photos were allowed. The menu had a variety of noodles, rice dishes, appetizers, and desserts. I was in the mood for noodles, so I asked for recommendations based on spice levels. We were served with cold water and a beautiful blue bottle for refills. The food arrived shortly after. We ordered:
- Tomato Ramen: A generous portion in a large bowl, the noodles were hidden underneath. Taiwanese seasoning is usually strong, but this was surprisingly mild, with a hint of sesame oil. The noodles were thin but firm, which I liked.
- Beef Noodle Soup: We ordered one vegetable-based and one meat-based. The meat was tender and plentiful, with daikon simmered together. It had a lovely aroma and was delicious. I was worried about the Taiwanese spices, but it was not too spicy, just a hint of heat from the doubanjiang. Eating it alternately with the tomato ramen balanced the flavors well. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace.

My daughter, who is in elementary school, and I went to Shitennoji Temple for lunch during Obon with two other people. The service was a bit lacking, with orders being forgotten and a general lack of attentiveness. However, the main issue was that all the dishes we ordered were too spicy, even though we made it clear that we had a young child with us. It would have been nice if they had adjusted the spiciness or suggested milder options. The flavors of the dishes were also disappointing, lacking in depth and with weak seasoning. The cooking methods seemed subpar, with the food being dry and lacking in flavor. While the concept may be to provide gentle food for the body, the execution fell short. Lastly, we were seated at a dirty table instead of being offered a clean one, which was not very considerate. Overall, the restaurant seemed to be missing the mark in terms of both flavor and service.

We enjoyed our lunch and tea slowly. Honestly, we ate too much (^_^) We had tea leaf fried rice, braised pork rice, tofu pudding, and Taiwanese tea for two people. Even though they offered to refill the tea, we were too full to take advantage of it, which was a shame. The tea leaf fried rice had a sweet taste that was addictive, with a crispy texture that was fun to chew on, and we couldn't stop talking about it. It was delicious, of course. The braised pork rice and tofu pudding were also delicious, and we were able to relax with the Taiwanese tea that the owner brewed at the table. We went late, so we were lucky to take some nice pictures of the lovely interior.

While on the move, I saw a sign for herbal ramen and decided to enter the restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. The broth in the pot and the ramen soup are both spicy, with a medicinal aroma. And it's quite delicious. It's been a while since I've had such a successful lunch. Thank you for the meal.

On a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm, I was in the vicinity of Tennoji Station and decided to have a late Taiwanese cafe lunch at a place that had caught my interest before. I called ahead to confirm and then took a leisurely stroll to the restaurant. The place had a cute and cozy country-style atmosphere, which might appeal to women. As I entered, I was greeted by a strong herbal and spicy aroma, giving it a distinct Taiwanese cafe feel. The master and the waitress welcomed me and led me to a nice table at the back of the restaurant. They served me water and a menu to choose from. The menu had a variety of noodle and rice dishes, as well as appetizers and desserts. I opted for the Taiwanese-style miso ramen with a side of mini fried rice. The food arrived after a short wait, and I enjoyed the flavorful miso soup with a hint of spice and the generous portion of chicken in the ramen. The fried rice had a nice crispy texture with a touch of charred flavor. Overall, the meal was satisfying and left me feeling warm and full. I recommend "Genki Teahouse" in the Abeno area of Tennoji for a nice Taiwanese cafe experience.

In the vicinity of Tennoji, when searching for a good Chinese restaurant for lunch, I found a Taiwanese restaurant near Isshin-ji Temple, although it is a bit far away. I often visit that area, so I thought, "Was there such a place?" and decided to go there anyway. The restaurant is located on the way from Isshin-ji Temple to Tanimachi-suji. The exterior of the restaurant has a tropical Taiwanese style, and the menu displayed on the signboard includes not only the popular Lu Rou Fan but also many unfamiliar dishes illustrated in a way that stimulates the appetite. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with Taiwanese-style decor and plenty of colorful illustrations, creating a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the Taiwanese-style oyakodon and Tanuki coffee. The oyakodon was like a Chinese-style fried rice with a slightly sweet seasoning that goes well with the ethnic spice aroma. After the meal, I drank the Tanuki coffee, which is made from coffee beans that were eaten by a tanuki (the staff said it was actually a raccoon dog) from Vietnam, washed and roasted from the undigested beans left in its feces. The result was a very mild coffee. This coffee is made using a method that does not involve feeding the beans to animals (thankfully not from animal feces). It is a unique beverage that is mild without the need for sugar, different from regular coffee. This might become a favorite. I had a relaxing time during lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Located right next to Isshin-ji Temple in Shitenno-ji, this place was too hidden that I overlooked it! I've been seeing it a lot on Instagram lately, so I was curious and decided to go for lunch. I was so excited and couldn't decide what to eat, but I ended up choosing the combo of Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice) and boiled dumplings, with almond jelly for dessert. The Lu Rou Fan was served in a small bowl, but it was surprisingly filling. The pork belly was tender and flavorful, although I wish the boiled egg was a bit more runny to mix with the rice. The boiled dumplings had a chewy skin and a tasty filling. And for dessert, the almond jelly was comforting and delicious, reminding me of tofu with a gentle sweetness. I really love almond jelly, and I often visit another shop for it. But this one here has a rich flavor and the freshly boiled white pearls are so bouncy. Even the tapioca is great! I love it so much and I will definitely come back. Next time, I want to try the medicinal herb curry and have that Tanuki coffee! Thank you for the delicious meal.

☆ Genki Chabou ☆✨✨✨✨✨A healing place where energy bubbles up, serving Taiwanese cuisineヽ(^o^)丿⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆ ・~ Tantanmen ~ ¥850After much deliberation, I chose this dish. It seems to be seasoned in the style of central and southern Taiwan. The noodles, topped with more than three times the usual amount of minced meat and vegetable mix, are irresistible with the aroma of spices! The soup is light and those who like it will surely love it. Personally, I'm a big fan (^з^)-☆~ Lu Rou Fan ~ ¥550This dish features a few slices of pork belly with an egg on top, not the traditional Lu Rou Fan I know. It has a lot of soup and for some reason, it goes down smoothly. It feels gentle on the body. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great for relaxing! They seem to specialize in herbal cuisine, and the lovely scents inside the restaurant are inviting. They have various herbal cuisine menus, so if you get the chance, definitely give them a try⤴︎⤴︎︎︎Located next to Isshinji Temple in Shitennoji, Osaka⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆ ・⋆✰︎ Genki Chabou ✰︎☎︎050-5596-64272-4-22 Osaka, Tennoji-ku, Osaka Prefecture

This is a Taiwanese cafe located on the Yuhigaoka hill near Osaka Tennoji Park. I visited for the first time after being recommended by someone while I was in the area for business. They are known for their authentic Taiwanese cuisine, which is said to be delicious. The interior of the restaurant has a cozy Asian atmosphere with only table seating, and although not very spacious, it is quite relaxing. The menu offers a wide range of dishes from meals to desserts, all reminiscent of Taiwan, making it difficult to decide what to order.
I decided to try the "Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) and Shui Jiaozi (dumplings) set" as I have always liked Lu Rou Fan. The rice bowl was smaller than I expected, but apparently, in Taiwan, it is considered more of a side dish rather than a main dish, so this size is standard. The braised pork and boiled egg were slightly sweet and mixed well with the rice, creating a delicious combination. The dumplings were served on a plate with dipping sauce, and they had a nice chewy texture with a gentle flavor that would appeal to Japanese taste buds.
My companion ordered the "Yakuzen Ramen with Yakuzen Nabe (hot pot)" which also included dumplings in the pot. The dumplings were simmered in the Yakuzen soup, offering a different flavor experience. We also tried the "Snowflake Ice with Mango" which is a Taiwanese shaved ice dessert that became popular in Japan for a while. The mango-flavored ice was fluffy and topped generously with mango, creating a rich taste and a refreshing texture.
Lastly, we tried the "Tanuki Coffee," a rare and unique coffee where coffee beans are fed to tanuki (raccoons) for fermentation, resulting in a deep flavor with a special sweetness. It had a smooth and mellow taste, making it very enjoyable to drink. Overall, the Taiwanese cuisine at this cafe was easy to enjoy, with some adjustments made for Japanese preferences. It was a very fulfilling lunch experience.

It's been about 3 years since I last visited this place. I don't often get the chance to come here because it's a bit out of my usual area. The medicinal hot pot is simple but delicious, with no spiciness. The dipping sauce is slightly spicy. The chicken in the pot is similar to sanbeiji, but each dish is tasty in its own way. It's been a while since I've had Oriental Beauty Tea. I remember seeing similar tea sets when I visited Taiwan. Medicinal hot pot, sanbeiji, Oriental Beauty Tea, Taiwanese Castella.

Located right in the middle between Tennoji Station on the Subway Tanimachi Line and Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station, this cafe along Route 25 near Isshin-ji Temple serves Taiwanese cuisine, tea, and sweets. After paying respects to my father at the ossuary of Isshin-ji, I decided to have lunch here. Despite its small size with about 20 seats, the cafe is decorated with tea leaf jars and modern art, creating a nice atmosphere. I ordered the Lu Rou Fan and Water Dumplings set (1,200 yen) this time. The dishes arrived promptly, and both were served at the same time. The Lu Rou Fan was served in a slightly larger rice bowl with plenty of meat on top, accompanied by simmered egg and pickles. The rice, coated in the simmering sauce, had a subtle ethnic aroma. The meat was well-stewed, rich in flavor, with a good amount of chewiness remaining. The egg also had a strong, flavorful taste. The water dumplings were arranged on a round wooden plate with 8 pieces, accompanied by dipping sauce. The finely chopped filling with a prominent chive flavor was wrapped in a thin skin, creating a light texture. The bouncy texture was also delightful. This cafe, quietly operating in the temple town of Osaka, has an excellent atmosphere and the quality of the food is unquestionable.

#Friday is Curry Day. Today's lunch is at Genki Chabo near Isshinji Temple. I had the Herbal Curry for 800 yen. It had tender chicken, minced pork, and various beans in a rich curry sauce. The coconut milk was well-balanced and the portion was generous. I also ordered the Mini Water Dumplings for 350 yen, which had chewy skins and delicious sauce. They offer a variety of Taiwanese dishes, and I might try their ramen next time. They also have winter limited items like strawberry shaved ice and Tanuki coffee. On a side note, there is a coin parking nearby where you can get a discount if you pay within 25 minutes of parking. Make sure to check the parking rates before leaving your car. #OsakaFood #OsakaLunch

Located between the West Gate of Shitenno-ji Temple (not Nishimon, it's Saimon) and Cha-Usuyama Kofun, this Taiwanese restaurant has been in business for quite some time. I had always assumed it was more of a cafe based on its exterior, but I decided to try their food for the first time. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, with the option to order a main dish and add on items like water dumplings. I ordered the Jasmine Tea Fried Rice as a standalone dish and was surprised by the generous portion. The soup is not included, which was unexpected. The dish is made up of finely chopped ingredients, with a unique seasoning that is difficult to identify. The blackish bits are probably Jasmine tea leaves, while the only recognizable items were the crunchy dried small fish and what seemed like chicken breast. The menu also lists pork and onions, but I couldn't distinguish them. There were also shrimp-like dried shrimp and fibrous dried scallops that may or may not have been present. The dish was tasty but a bit hard to swallow. I wished there was soup or a sauce to go with it. Despite its cafe-like appearance and the assumption that the staff were Japanese, the food was not typical cafe fare. Surprisingly, the restaurant was busy with customers ordering meals rather than just desserts during a weekday under the state of emergency. I missed taking a photo, but there were more food options on the menu than advertised on the exterior. Jasmine Tea Fried Rice 700 yen.

I made a reservation for Saturday at 6:00 pm and visited the restaurant located along Route 25 that I always pass by. There is a parking lot across from the restaurant on Tanimachi Street where you can park for 110 yen per hour. There were two men and a couple as the previous customers, so it seemed like I could relax (even though the last order is at 7:00 pm). I wanted to try noodles and hot pot, but ended up ordering Lu Rou Fan and boiled dumplings for 1200 yen. It took about 15 minutes, but the boiled dumplings were delicious with a sauce similar to regular dumpling sauce, and they were chewy and tasty with plenty of filling. The Lu Rou Fan had tender meat and was satisfying. I wanted a draft beer! I enjoyed the meal and left feeling full. I will come back again, maybe next time for noodles or hot pot?

Birthday lunch was lo lo fan!! I really wanted lo lo fan!! However, I was taking my time and ended up missing most of the lunch time, so I searched for options and found this place~ It's quite a walk from Tennoji, but the stylish restaurant serves delicious water dumplings with plenty of chives and a lo lo fan with lots of meat~ I wanted to have dessert too, but that will have to wait for next time.

During the hot month of August, I stopped by after visiting Shitennoji Temple. I arrived around 3pm, so there were no other customers and I was able to relax. However, the water that was served was very warm, which was disappointing! The mango shaved ice was delicious, similar to the taste I had in Taiwan. It would be even better if the interior of the shop had a more Taiwanese atmosphere!

The shop is filled with the aroma of medicinal herbs, but there is a lack of motivation in everything. I ordered the beef noodle soup, and the broth and ingredients are perfect, but it seems like they didn't drain the noodles properly as they are not coated in the broth. It feels like the person making the dish now is different from the one who did the preparation.

I found out that a Taiwanese restaurant had opened near Shitennoji Temple, so I decided to check it out. The first time I went, it was just after closing time, so I went back on another day right after they opened. The facade of the restaurant was cute, and the inside had a cozy cafe vibe with a homemade feel. Looking at the menu, I was surprised by the variety of dishes offered. I ordered my favorite dish, Lu Rou Fan, and also a dish called Ma You Ji that I always look forward to trying at different places. Lu Rou Fan: The pork belly in this dish was larger than what I usually see, and had a slightly gelatinous texture. The broth was just right and the flavor was satisfying! Beef Noodle Soup: The taste of this dish can vary a lot between different restaurants. It seems like there is a lot of variation even in China and Taiwan. The standout feature here was the generous amount of beef in the soup, it was quite hearty. There was much more beef than you would find in something like beef curry. Ma You Ji: This dish had a unique flavor with a numbing sensation and a kick of ginger. It was cooked with sesame oil and alcohol, so it had a strong aroma of alcohol. For dessert, I ordered a Tofu Cheesecake. The taste of tofu was subtle, and it was interesting to find red beans inside. It felt like a Taiwanese (Chinese) dessert turned into a cheesecake. And of course, I had to order the Mango Shaved Ice. It was loaded with two types of mango, and you kept finding more mango with every bite. Needless to say, it was incredibly delicious!

I don't even know why I want to go to Taiwan so badly, but I've been really curious about it lately. During a visit to Isshinji Temple, I discovered a nice Taiwanese cafe. The spacious interior with high ceilings had a natural and nostalgic atmosphere, and the patterns on the window glass reminded me of the world of Studio Ghibli. This time, I just wanted to try the tofu pudding, but I was quite hungry, so I ordered the tea leaf fried rice for 700 yen, mini water dumplings for 300 yen, jasmine tea for 300 yen, and tofu pudding for 700 yen. The tea leaf fried rice, which appeared dark, was surprisingly easy to eat, and the texture of the ingredients was enjoyable, making it hard to stop eating. Mixing in the oolong tea leaves added a nice bitterness to the taste. The water dumplings had a strong garlic flavor and the chewy skin was fantastic. Now, the tofu pudding! Made with soy milk and peanuts, this pudding was very lightly sweetened, with white balls and tapioca inside. The gentle taste made it seem like you could eat it forever. After eating so much, I had to take a break and relax in the laid-back atmosphere of the cafe. Although it quickly became almost full after opening, it's a place I'd like to visit when I have no plans and just want to space out.
