I flew all the way here from Yamagata Airport for this! A pretty hectic schedule, from Yonezawa to Yamagata to Osaka, and then off to Toyohashi the next day. Clearing each mission one by one, tonight's dinner is Korean cuisine. Around the same time last year, with the exact same group, we enjoyed Korean cuisine (at a different restaurant) but it seems like our Korean cuisine tour is becoming a regular thing? So, we wasted no time and started the tour with 4 people! Cheers with a glass of draft beer (^O^) We started with the classic kimchi assortment and namul assortment. The kimchi assortment included seaweed kimchi, which was more like a simmered dish rather than traditional kimchi, and it was surprisingly excellent. It could be a side dish for rice or a perfect match for alcohol! We also ordered chijimi, salad, and mandu (Korean dumplings) as well. For the main dish, we ordered budae jjigae (army stew). It included fish sausages, ham, pork belly, vegetables, tofu, tteokbokki, and of course, instant noodles! The ingredients simmered in the pot, and the noodles gradually absorbed the soup, resulting in a delicious stew! Before the noodles got too soft, we all dug into the pot together. The flavors from the ingredients blended into the soup, making it delicious. The melted cheese added a nice touch. And of course, we couldn't finish without adding more instant noodles! We just had to have more. The combination with the soup was amazing. We also drank a lot of makgeolli and chamisul without restraint. And for dessert? Of course, we had naengmyeon (cold noodles)! After all, the restaurant's name is Naengmyeon Hall. The cold noodles were gentle on our full stomachs and delicious. Thank you for the meal!
