If you have money, you would want to eat meat or fish, but due to wallet constraints, retirees often cannot always have a lot of money. When working, I always had ten times more money than my age, but now just having 3000 yen makes me feel rich. With only about 2000 yen in my pocket for the day and a budget for tomorrow's lunch, I decide to save money by eating something cheap. In such times, eating flour-based dishes is a good idea. Not in the mood for ramen or udon, I found this restaurant in Oonojo, Fukuoka, where I have visited several times before. I visited at 12:30 on a weekday and was seated by the staff. I ordered the mixed yakisoba for 649 yen including tax from the lunch menu. A hot plate was warmed up for me, and the finished product cooked in the kitchen was brought to me in about 6 minutes. Before eating, I checked the ingredients: three large pieces of tough pork loin, squid, shrimp, bean sprouts, cabbage, onions, and tempura bits. The sauce had a moderate sweetness that coated the noodles well, not too sweet, which I liked. I alternated between using nori and bonito flakes while eating, but I preferred the nori. Two types of sauce were provided, which seemed to be for okonomiyaki, but the staff said I could use them as I liked. I didn't use them as the taste was already good enough. This lunch, which was cheap, will surely make me hungry by 3 o'clock.
