First visit. About a 10-minute walk from Yakuin Station. I arrived at 7:00 for a 8:00 reservation, but they kindly let me in early. Chose the 3000 yen course with "Choose-your-own motsunabe and horse sashimi". Selected the Matsuba original "Yuzu motsunabe". Forgot to mention my reservation for the mini dessert course, so we were served senmai sashimi as an appetizer. It was unexpectedly delicious, especially when mixed with the tangy sauce and onion slices. The chef and a young woman served each course at the perfect timing. Each dish was delicious and the portion sizes were just right. The Vietnamese pho noodles as the last dish were refreshing. Even the dessert was a delight for the taste buds. No complaints about the course. The drink menu was extensive, and I had a lemon sour for my first drink and a "Hundred Years of Solitude" highball for my second, both with a nice balance of sweetness. The "Hundred Years of Solitude" highball was excellent. Thank you for the feast. I will definitely come back.

I used it when meeting a friend I hadn't seen in a long time for dinner. The horse sashimi was delicious, and most importantly, the motsunabe was light and easy to eat. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and had an adult-like ambiance, allowing us to experience a higher level of sophistication.

Located in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Matsuba" is recommended for its Yuzu motsunabe and horse sashimi. Among all the motsu dishes I have tried, the motsu here has a very satisfying size. It was my first time trying Yuzu motsunabe, and it was very delicious. #Fukuoka #motsunabe #Fukuoka gourmet #delicious #food #foodlove #foodie #eat #fresh #yummy #yum

I visited a restaurant where you can enjoy both horse sashimi and motsu nabe together. We started with chicken skin as an appetizer, and were told that it was a one drink order system, so we each ordered a drink. The chicken skin appetizer had a slightly strong smell that bothered me. We ordered the horse sashimi with a marbled 4-piece assortment for 2,800 yen and a lean 3-piece assortment for 1,600 yen, but when the horse sashimi was brought out, each piece was only about a third of the size of what I had eaten at other restaurants before, and the overall amount on the not very large plates was so small that I couldn't help but think, "Is this a joke?" I had initially planned to order more later, but decided against it. I think it's delicious though! The yuzu motsu nabe was beautifully presented, and the red motsu and the chewy texture were delicious.

The Yuzumotsu hot pot had large, satisfying pieces of motsu that were delicious. The three types of horse sashimi - loin, fillet, and thigh - were also tasty, with the loin being a personal favorite. The Tategami, ordered separately, had high-quality fat and a great texture and sweetness. Highly recommended. I chose pho as the finishing dish, which allowed me to enjoy the meal from start to finish.

I happened to visit this restaurant after being recommended by a staff member at the LOUIS VUITTON Fukuoka store while window shopping. The location of the restaurant is a bit away from the city center, but it was easy to reach from the nearest station. I tried the Yuzu Motsu Nabe (garlic) as the restaurant's name suggests. It was much lighter in taste compared to other motsu nabe I've had before, very delicious, and I even finished all the broth. If you're going to have noodles at the end, make sure to save some broth. They had a variety of horse sashimi options, perfect for horse sashimi lovers like me. The staff recommended potato salad was not your usual plain potato salad, it had a taste of herbs that was addictive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and perfect for a small group. My boss who visited with me mentioned that the restaurant was mindful of feng shui in areas like the entrance, interior, and restroom. When I visit Fukuoka again, I will definitely come back to this restaurant. The menu we ordered this time (2 women) included: - Wagyu vinegar motsu (offal) - Potato salad - Horse sashimi with mane - Horse sashimi red meat - Yuzu motsu nabe with garlic - Korikori (additional to the nabe) We also enjoyed drinks like draft beer, wine, and sweet potato shochu.

I am in Hakata. I wanted to eat motsunabe when I came to Hakata. I searched various places, but ended up here where I can enjoy other specialties of Hakata. I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be a great choice. To Yakuin, I took a Nishitetsu bus from Hakata Station. The bus stop in front of the station is confusing for first-timers and chaotic. The restaurant is located in a residential area. I heard it's in the Yamate area of Hakata. They are said to be strict about the taste. The restaurant is run by a couple. Their son, who is currently attending university, also helps out. He will probably take over in the future. I had appetizers, potato salad, and horse sashimi. There were 4 different cuts. Among the ones I tried today, one was exceptionally delicious. It had a refreshing taste without any strong flavors. The dumplings seemed to be made with chicken. They were also light and tasty. The motsunabe was a bit unique, with a yuzu flavor. The motsu was fresh. Finally, we added noodles to finish the meal. I will definitely visit again.

I went to this restaurant recommended by a friend and oh my goodness, the motsunabe (tripe hot pot) was so delicious! In the past, I would often feel bloated and uncomfortable after eating motsunabe, but at Matsuba, I was able to eat a lot without feeling that way. The reason is the variety of offal options and the fact that you can choose three different types. The horse meat was also delicious! It felt like an elegant motsunabe experience! The owner and chef were both very kind and made me feel welcomed. I can't wait to go back with a bigger appetite and try other menu items as well!

I went to a newly opened restaurant that specializes in Yuzu motsu nabe, a hot pot dish with a refreshing yuzu flavor. The hot pot stayed piping hot thanks to the heat retention of the clay pot, making it very delicious. They offered a variety of options for the finishing touch, including something unique like pho. They also had other types of motsu nabe, making me want to go back and try more. The side dishes like horse sashimi were also delicious, and they had a wide selection of drinks, making it a great place to go for a drink as well!

It has gotten cold, so I decided to treat my wife to a local motsunabe restaurant. The place is new and I've been curious about it. The interior is beautiful, and the owners warmly welcomed us. We ordered a beer and looked at the menu. We started with a plate of horse sashimi, as the owner is from Kumamoto. The horse sashimi was delicious, and we then chose their specialty, yuzu motsunabe. The yuzu motsunabe had a warm citrus aroma when lit, and my wife couldn't resist adding some chili peppers. The plump motsu pieces and well-balanced vegetables, along with the lemon and perfectly seasoned soup, warmed us up. It was so good! We also ordered some chicken wings as a side, and they were excellent too. The owner mentioned he had worked at a famous restaurant before, which explained the quality. We ended the meal with some pho, which paired perfectly with the soup. The restaurant had just opened, and we were able to enjoy it without a reservation, but I can see it becoming popular soon. We were grateful for the warm hospitality and delicious food. It was a great experience before it gets too crowded.

My relatives from Nagoya came to visit and requested motsunabe, so I chose this restaurant. I got the takeout of Yuzu Motsunabe with garlic flavor, and it was delicious with tasty motsu and a light broth with the fragrance of yuzu. The meal came with noodles and pho as a finishing touch, which was surprising at first but turned out to be incredibly delicious when eaten with the soup. My relatives were so impressed by the deliciousness that they bought a motsunabe set on their way home to eat at home. However, they reported that it wasn't as delicious as the one from this restaurant because they bought a different one. Since I found out that the restaurant also does online shopping, I am thinking of sending it to them if I have the chance.
