I came to eat cold noodles on a hot day that doesn't feel like May at all. I look forward to this every year, haha. There are two types of cold noodles, and today I chose the Bang Bang Chicken Cold Noodle Set (2000 yen). It's just before noon but the restaurant is almost full, with mostly people in their 70s. Maybe there's an event going on? I sipped on cold oolong tea while waiting. The noodles arrived, and I mixed the sauce well before pouring it over the noodles. The chewy jellyfish, carefully peeled cucumber, and moist chicken were all delicious. For dim sum, I had hot shrimp dumplings and siu mai. Both were piping hot. The fried rice wasn't the fluffy type, but it had a refined and satisfying flavor. For dessert, I had almond jelly, which was also deliciously chewy. The staff were attentive and there were many of them, so the service was great. I'll come back again, maybe for the cold sesame noodles when it gets even hotter. Another delicious lunch, thank you!

A high-class Chinese restaurant in Tenjin. I ordered the dim sum lunch set. It included appetizers, soup, water dumplings, shumai, xiaolongbao, Chinese-style pierogi, spring rolls, fried rice, and dessert with almond tofu and sesame balls. The variety, portion size, quality, and atmosphere were all satisfying. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I also enjoyed the dim sum for lunch. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively, but the service felt a bit mechanical, which was disappointing. It seemed like they were rushing because it was lunchtime, as they kept bringing out dishes before we had finished the previous ones. I would have preferred if they had timed the meal better. However, the location, price, and taste were all appropriate. I would still like to visit again.

I went for lunch on Sunday. I ordered the usual: crab roe and shark fin soup, which I love for its perfect sweetness and richness. I also ordered Peking duck, which is easy to order in portions of two, and it tasted decent. The five-flavor yakisoba was to my liking in terms of flavor intensity. The golden ankake fried rice was delicious with a fluffy texture and sweet sauce. The dumplings for my daughter were also tasty. It's convenient that the restaurant is not too crowded in the middle of Tenjin. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat Chinese food for lunch, so I decided to come here. I enjoy exploring new restaurants, but I also find myself coming back to familiar places. The menu has been updated, and now the lunch set includes one main dish instead of two. The "Kato Lunch Set" is priced at 2200 yen, which is a bit more expensive now. However, it now comes with jellyfish appetizer, which I love. There are four main dishes to choose from, and I went with the shrimp chili. Previously, you could choose two half-size main dishes, but now you can add an extra 330 yen to choose two half-size dishes. You can choose between white rice or five-grain porridge, and I chose white rice. The generous serving of Oolong tea in a teapot is always a nice touch. The appetizer included two types of jellyfish and soup, both delicious. The shrimp chili arrived next, with six large and juicy shrimp. However, the portion size might be a bit small for a main dish. The dim sum included crab xiaolongbao and shumai, a slight upgrade from before. The xiaolongbao was filled with flavorful soup. For dessert, I had the special almond tofu, which used to come with sesame dumplings, so that was a bit disappointing. If you choose two half-size main dishes, the total cost will be 2530 yen, which is a significant increase from the previous price of 1830 yen. The ladies at the next table also mentioned that they felt the "value for money" aspect has decreased. Overall, I will visit again, thank you for the meal!

When I feel like eating Chinese food in Tenjin, I come here. It's popular and almost always full. There are various lunch menu options, but I always go for the Select Lunch (1850 yen). I chose dried scallops and Chinese broccoli stew and shrimp in chili sauce as my two mains. They serve plenty of oolong tea in a teapot on the table, which is a nice touch. After a short wait, my food arrived, and it looked delicious as always. The vegetables were crunchy, the scallops were flavorful, and the shrimp was plump and had a subtle spicy flavor that I think anyone would enjoy. Dessert was served after the meal - hot sesame dumplings and almond tofu. I enjoyed them with oolong tea, taking my time. The staff here is attentive and considerate, making the dining experience pleasant. As the weather gets colder, I think noodles would be nice too. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I have been using this Chinese restaurant for lunch for a long time. This time, I made a reservation for the lunch of stewed sea cucumber, and visited the restaurant. The food was delicious as always, but the service was not good. I mentioned it to the staff at the restaurant, so I will refrain from sharing the details, but... it's a shame that the good food was ruined.

I had some errands in the neighborhood and visited this restaurant after a long time. The crab roe shark fin soup had a rich and slightly sweet taste that I really liked. I give it 5 stars. The Ao-ri squid with mentaiko sauce was a perfect match of flavors, earning 4 stars. The pan-fried noodles with mixed vegetable sauce was a favorite of mine, with a soy sauce base that I enjoy. I always order this dish and I was satisfied with it. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I came to Tenjin and decided to have lunch here after a long time. I chose the Cold Noodle Set with Dandan Chicken (1650 yen) without hesitation since I hadn't had cold noodles in a while. As I sat down, a generous amount of cold oolong tea was brought in a teapot. While sipping the tea, I waited leisurely. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm and the age group is on the higher side, but that allows for a peaceful lunch. The Dandan Chicken Cold Noodles arrived first. I mixed the sauce well and drizzled it little by little. The chicken was moist and juicy, the mushrooms were thick and chewy, and the cucumber was thinly sliced without the bitterness of the skin. It was elegant and delicious. A side of mini fried rice and dim sum arrived. The fried rice was fluffy and had crab in it, which was luxurious. It might not be enough for men, but it was just right for women. The shrimp dumplings were plump and delicious. For dessert, I had almond tofu, which was chewy and had a flavor I liked. The luxurious interior and the ample staff made the dining experience enjoyable. The summer cold noodles are available until the end of September, and I am curious about the Tomato Cold Noodles. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch set of chilled sesame noodles with black vinegar, half fried rice, shrimp dumplings, shumai, pickled vegetables, and almond jelly for dessert. Generous portions and professional Chinese flavors in everything. The sesame noodles, which I thought would be spicier, were sufficiently tangy and flavorful.

When I want to eat Chinese food in Tenjin, I always come here. Located on the 7th floor of a mixed-use building in Shintencho, at the back. I was surprised by the interior that I couldn't imagine from the exterior when I was brought here for the first time, haha. It was a bit after 2 o'clock, so the lunch rush had subsided. The clientele is a bit on the older side, but that means it's quiet and you can enjoy your meal leisurely, which I like. When you sit down, they serve you tea, and you can choose between hot or iced. I chose the cold tea, and it was very generous. There are several lunch options, but I went for the lunch where you can choose a main dish. You can choose two from the three regular options and one daily special. It's popular among women who want to try a variety of dishes. Today's daily special was Mapo Harusame. I chose the Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork and the Qinggengcai and Scallop Stew. Both were elegant and delicious. Chinese vegetables are always so crunchy and different from what you can make at home. Dim sum, soup, two main dishes, dessert - all for 1850 yen is quite reasonable! And I always admire the disposable chopsticks here, they are very thin at the tip and easy to use. The staff, being numerous, are attentive and make the dining experience very pleasant. That's why I often bring my friends who visit Fukuoka here. It's a sure bet. At first, everyone looks skeptical when they see the shabby building, but they are sure to be surprised by the gorgeous interior when they get off the elevator, haha. The summer noodle menu was already out, which I always look forward to. I'll be back again, thank you for the meal!

I noticed that there are many Chinese restaurants in the Tenjin area, such as Fukushinro and Heiwro. I decided to try out Kado Hanten, a restaurant I had never been to before. It is located on the 7th floor of the DADA Building, where Blue Note Fukuoka used to be. The restaurant was spacious and quiet, despite being full. I ordered the lunch set which included a choice of two dishes, along with dessert, for 1,850 yen. I chose the black vinegar sweet and sour pork and shrimp chili, and I was satisfied with both the portion size and taste. I highly recommend it.

Fukuoka is in the Tenjin area. Today, I went to a high-end Chinese restaurant for lunch with a superior. The dinner price is 10,000 yen per customer, but at lunch, it's 2,000 yen per customer! The interior had chandeliers and rotating tables, with mostly elegant ladies as customers. We ordered the recommended dish, the Bang Bang Chicken Cold Noodles set (1,650 yen before tax). We had mini fried rice with crab, dim sum with shumai and shrimp dumplings, and the main dish of cold noodles with Bang Bang chicken sauce. The noodles were firm and cold, with a rich sesame sauce mixed with chili oil, soy sauce, and vinegar. The chicken was moist, and the cucumber was peeled elegantly. The dessert of almond jelly was subtly sweet. The only downside was that the portion was small. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Near Shintencho, there is a "long-established Chinese restaurant" where I used to go in the summer to have "Bang Bang Chicken Cold Noodles." It had been a while since my last visit. Originally started by a Chinese family, the restaurant is now under the umbrella of JR Kyushu. They specialize in Beijing and Sichuan cuisine. The restaurant was almost full past 1 pm, showing its continued popularity. After sanitizing our hands, we were seated. There are several lunch options available, but I was there for the "Bang Bang Chicken Cold Noodle Set (1650 yen)." The set includes "Bang Bang Chicken Cold Noodles," "Sesame Sauce," "Mini Fried Rice," "Pickled Vegetables," and "Almond Jelly," as well as "Dim Sum," which was not included before.
- Sesame Sauce: A rich sesame paste with a good amount of soy sauce and a pleasant spiciness. I actually prefer the sauce over the cold noodles.
- Cold Noodles: Topped with steamed chicken, jellyfish, and cucumber, the presentation was beautiful. The amount of noodles seemed slightly less compared to other restaurants.
- Shrimp Dumplings and Shumai: The shrimp dumplings were delicious, but I didn't enjoy the shumai, so I left it.
- Fried Rice: This time, the fried rice with shrimp was tasty, unlike the last time when I didn't like it much. The portion was small, but with the noodles, it was too much for me.
- Almond Jelly: Smooth and delicious with plenty of almond flavor. I couldn't finish the noodles and fried rice, but the cold noodles I had after a long time were delicious. I might visit again next year when it gets hot.

The golden sauce goes well with fried rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is nothing particularly noteworthy, but it is a well-balanced Chinese cuisine. I love the shark fin soup here, so I feel like going there occasionally. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the city, this elegant restaurant specializes in Chinese cuisine. Originating from the Kanto region, it offers splendid Beijing cuisine and Sichuan cuisine with a spicy kick. Situated on the 7th floor of a building, you must use a private elevator to access it, and you are greeted by a grand entrance upon arrival. On this particular day, feeling in the mood for Chinese food, I decided to revisit after a long time. Visiting on a weekday around 2 PM, the restaurant was empty, which made it feel oddly quiet. I opted for the weekday-only noodle set menu (1500 yen excluding tax), with the option to choose Shanghai-style yakisoba and upgrade the white rice to fried rice for an additional 200 yen. It had been 7 years since my last visit, and I noticed that the noodle set had increased in price by 500 yen, reflecting the changing times. The meal started with a platter of three assorted dishes, including zasai, bang bang chicken, and something resembling noodles. The yakisoba was generously filled with meat and vegetables, including crunchy bean sprouts. The fried rice had a refined flavor profile that was perhaps too subtle. The dim sum arrived warm in a steamer basket, with two items and almond jelly for dessert. Overall, the Chinese cuisine offered here is of decent quality, and the cost performance is not bad.

Tenjin no Iwataya Soba is located above the arcade on Southern Street, and the elevator is a bit hard to find in the shabby building, but it seems to be a popular spot for local elderly people to use for special occasions. There are also branches in Yokohama Chinatown and Mita, but the main store in Mita (now relocated to Kamiyacho) is the place to go. Lunch is priced affordably to attract new customers, so the restaurant seems to be making an effort in that regard. Despite the shabby exterior, the interior has a nice atmosphere that sets it apart from typical town Chinese restaurants. The lunch set costs around 1,650 yen, with a choice of 4 main dishes, and I chose the shrimp chili. The meal started with pickled vegetables, vegetable jelly, and jellyfish, which were a light appetizer. The egg and tofu soup was a classic dish with a bit of a hot and sour soup twist. When the dim sum arrived, the first thing I noticed was the shy siu mai hiding in the corner. Overall, the shrimp chili and rice were the highlight of the meal. The shrimp was well-prepared and cooked in a flavorful garlic and scallion chili sauce. The chili had a nice kick to it, which was a pleasant surprise. The almond jelly dessert had a strong almond flavor.
