I finally visited Trattoria Daie for the first time. It's like a dream come true when you find a restaurant you've been hoping for. The owner used to work in service at Donna Selvatica, so we are familiar with each other. He always wanted to open a Roman cuisine restaurant. Here, you can enjoy Roman-style pizza, pasta, and main dishes, as well as an amazing selection of wines. From relatively affordable Italian wines to high-end French wines, you can trust the owner's selection. We ordered three bottles of wine for the four of us: Frederic Savart Champagne PC, Caroline More Saint-Aubin Chardonnay, and Francesco Versio's Langhe Nebbiolo. All of them were wonderful wines. We started with an amuse-bouche of chilled Gold Rush soup, which had a natural sweetness. For appetizers, we had a platter of three dishes: natural sea bream with caviar, tuna tartare, and chicken liver paste canapé. Each dish was delicious and paired well with the champagne. Then we tried the Roman-style Margherita pizza, which had a thin, crispy crust and a perfect balance of cheese and tomato sauce. Next, we had the Daje pizza with anchovies, which was a great snack with drinks. The spaghetti with sardines was full of flavor, and the pine nuts added a nice touch. The Orecchiette pasta with pork ragout was incredibly tender and tasty. For the main course, we had Chintasenese (from Fukudome Ranch in Kagoshima), which was simple yet full of flavor. We decided to try the Marinara pizza as well, which was a perfect example of "simple is best." We finished with a rich panna cotta dessert, feeling completely satisfied. This restaurant offers well-balanced Italian cuisine without any gimmicks, and the wine selection is excellent. I would love to visit again. The total price was around 12,000 yen, excluding the champagne, which I ordered separately as a celebration of the restaurant's opening (although it was on the menu).
