I went to Kaccharu Batcharu for the first time in a while. I made a reservation for a weeknight and ordered the following: Nanohana Cream Dal Curry, Butter Chicken Curry, Naan, Cheese Naan. I chose the Nanohana Curry. It had plenty of nanohana and the bitterness was not strong, blending well with the spices and tasting delicious. Even while eating, I found myself wanting more of this curry. It's the kind of curry that makes you want to keep eating. I would love to come back here again. Thank you for the meal.

I tend to act on impulse, so today I visited this restaurant after 7 pm. Unfortunately, it was full, but they said a table would be available in about 20 minutes if I waited. I decided to wait. It must be really good if it's full on a weekday night. After a phone call, I was seated. I ordered a draft beer, lamb biryani, pork vindaloo curry, and tandoori chicken. They suggested I could have one tandoori chicken and one chicken malai tikka instead of two tandoori chickens since I was dining alone. Of course, I agreed to try both! They also recommended eggplant and scallop oil pickle and spiced chicken liver as a quick option, so I added the chicken liver. It was so much fun. The chicken liver arrived first, with a hint of Sansho pepper and other spices. It paired well with the beer. Next, the lamb biryani and pork vindaloo curry arrived. Both were delicious on their own, but even better when combined. I added a Jabara beer at this point, which had a delicious citrus flavor. The chicken dishes came out next, and they were both delicious. Adding mint sauce made them even better. Since I had leftover curry, I added a half-size naan. The food was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. Before I knew it, I was lightly sweating from the spice. The food was consistently delicious from start to finish. It was an amazing dining experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I went to a restaurant for the first time and had Butter Chicken for 1200 yen and Naan for 330 yen, totaling 1530 yen. The curry had a lot of tomatoes, few cashew nuts, a strong herb flavor, and a tangy and light texture, giving it an Italian minestrone-like taste. Personally, I prefer Butter Chicken with more cashew nuts that are a bit chewy, but this one was good too. The way the herbs were used was great. The chicken was delicious! What is this? The chicken in the Butter Chicken was the most delicious. It ranks high among chicken dishes. It was juicy and crispy with a nice aroma. The Naan had a mild sweetness and butter flavor. The outside was crispy while the inside was chewy. The crispiness outside was a unique experience for me. The chewiness inside reminded me of crepes or galettes. Next time, I want to try the Pork Vindaloo and Cheese Kurcha.

We made a reservation for two people on a regular Thursday at 19:30. We were seated at the counter. There were several flying insects, possibly due to the season. I finally got to eat the biryani I had been wanting to try. The balance of spices was perfect and it was incredibly delicious. We also ordered butter chicken curry, a seasonal curry, and plain naan. The portions were generous, but everything was so delicious that we finished it all in no time.

This is my second time visiting this restaurant, and the unique deliciousness of the curry here is still as good as ever. Highly recommended dishes are the Cheese Katsu Curry, Butter Chicken Curry, and Vegetable Curry. The Cheese Katsu Curry has a perfect garlic oil flavor that makes it so tasty you could keep eating it endlessly. It's thinner compared to other places' cheese katsu curry, so you won't get tired of it quickly or get too full to try other dishes. The Butter Chicken Curry is tomato-based, and it introduced me to the deliciousness of tomato-based curries here. The chicken is juicy and delicious. Normally, I'm not a fan of chicken in curry, but this restaurant's chicken is exceptional. I love it. The Vegetable Curry is packed with chunky vegetables, almost like an appetizer rather than a curry. Since trying this vegetable curry, I've been searching for similar chunky vegetable curries at other places, but nothing compares to the curry here.

I made a reservation online the day before. It was great to avoid the long line in this hot weather. The restaurant is operated by a few floor staff and chefs. The staff were efficient and the ordering process was smooth. I had the octopus and chickpea salad, lamb seekh kebab, spicy mutton curry, and today's special chicken biryani in half portions. The seekh kebab was incredibly delicious and set high expectations. There were no strange flavors or overpowering spices. The mint sauce that came with it was a perfect match. It was mentioned in another review as a reconstruction of Indian cuisine, and I agree with that. The curry and biryani were perfectly balanced in flavor. It felt like a very approachable Indian cuisine for Japanese people. I was so engrossed in eating that I finished in about 30 minutes. The aftertaste and satisfaction were very high. There was no greasy or heavy feeling. I definitely want to go back again.

Butter chicken curry + half naan + octopus and chickpea salad + herb-grilled shrimp + draft beer + jabara beer + fresh lime soda Kanamiya shochu highball 1200 yen + 220 yen + 700 yen + 440 yen + 660 yen + 660 yen + 600 yen. Made a net reservation at 6:00 pm. It's been a while since I last went, and now I can make reservations online, which is great for people who are not good at phone reservations like me. This time, I wanted to try the octopus and chickpea salad that I had never ordered before. They offered a smaller size for one person, but I chose the regular size because I wanted to enjoy it fully. The salad with a tangy herb dressing was refreshing. The herb-grilled shrimp was delicious on its own but even better with the mint sauce for added flavor. Butter chicken curry and half naan. The freshly baked naan had a wonderful aroma. The butter chicken curry had a nice balance of tomato flavor, not too sweet, with a pleasant sweet and sour taste. And their original jabara beer was a refreshing twist on beer with added acidity, making it easy to drink and potentially dangerous for overindulging. I keep saying I'll try something other than the butter chicken curry, but I always end up ordering it again because it's just so good. I hope to try a different curry next time if I can make it back before the end of the year.

The menu is limited, but everything you eat is delicious. Salad, scallop and eggplant pickles, seekh kebab, cheese kulcha, half rice, pork vindaloo curry, shrimp curry. The pork has a sourness to it, and the onions are also delicious. I asked for the shrimp curry to be made spicier. My coconut milk curry isn't spicy at all. The cheese kulcha is thinner and smaller than naan, but it's exquisite. I also ordered the biryani since it was available! It's a shame it's chicken, but it's very well done.

I went to a curry specialty restaurant. The butter chicken curry was delicious, and the white chicken was also tasty. I enjoyed a beer from Hokkaido, which was very easy to drink and I want to have it again. The top recommendation is the cheese and garlic flavored naan. You should try it, it's really delicious!

I finally visited the famous restaurant that I had always admired. I made a reservation online and tried their specialty Butter Chicken Curry and Cheese Kulcha (Cheese Naan). The chicken, including Tandoori Chicken, was incredibly delicious. The Cheese Kulcha had a buttery and flavorful taste that was irresistible. The staff were also very friendly and it was a fantastic experience!

When I checked during the day, there was luckily an available spot so I quickly made a reservation. I arrived 10 minutes before the reservation time (opening time) and ordered Butter Chicken Curry, Cheese Kulcha, Boneless Tandoori Chicken, and Mango Lassi for takeout. I also ordered a half-size Chicken Biryani. They offered to serve the curry first since the Malai Tikka would take longer, so I agreed. The Mango Lassi came in about 30 seconds, followed by the Butter Chicken and Cheese Kulcha in 8 minutes. The Cheese Kulcha was crispy and had a good cheese flavor. The Butter Chicken was tangy, sweet, and flavorful, and the chicken was tender and delicious. The Malai Tikka was mild and firm, while the Tandoori Chicken was spicy and tasted great with the Mint Chutney. The service was very polite and made me want to come back again. Thank you for the delicious curry!

Here is the top Indian curry restaurant run by Shuji Tamura, called "Kacchar Bachar". Originally aspiring to be a painter, Tamura worked at an Indian restaurant in Shinjuku called Bombay in 1995, and then went on a journey to India, Nepal, and Thailand in 1997. After returning to Japan, he worked at the sister restaurant of an Indian restaurant called Dhaba India in 2000. With a desire to offer his own style of cuisine, he opened "Kacchar Bachar" in 2010, which means "mix" in Hindi. The restaurant offers traditional Indian dishes with a mix of Japanese, Chinese, and other elements in the spices, focusing on creating a balanced recipe with a clear theme for each dish. The Butter Chicken Curry is a specialty with a refreshing taste of tomatoes and a blend of cardamom, cumin, and coriander spices. The Pork Vindaloo is a Goa-style curry with a perfect balance of sour, spicy, sweet, and aromatic flavors. The Biryani and Cheese Kulcha are also delicious choices. The Tandoori Chicken is tender and flavorful, and the homemade yogurt lassi and hot chai are great accompaniments. The restaurant's unique approach to Indian cuisine, incorporating different influences and focusing on balance, makes it a must-visit for curry lovers.

On a rainy Saturday at 8:30 pm, we made a reservation for 2 people and went to the restaurant. We had tried going without a reservation before around 8:00 pm on a weekday but couldn't get in, so we decided to make a reservation and try again.
- Food:
Octopus and chickpea salad
Tandoori chicken
South Indian shrimp curry
Spicy mutton curry
Naan
Cheese kulcha
Added rice later
- Drinks:
Jabara beer
Jabara sake with soda
Lassi
Mango lassi
The drinks and salad came out first, followed by each dish at a pace of about 5 minutes each, which made the whole dining experience very smooth. The shrimp curry had a delicious sweetness to it and paired perfectly with the naan. It tasted like it was carefully prepared with a surprising depth of flavor. The mutton curry was labeled as medium-spicy, but even someone like me who doesn't handle spicy food well found it deliciously enjoyable. Both the shrimp curry and mutton curry had a perfect balance with the cilantro on top. The curries were so delicious that I couldn't resist ordering rice halfway through. The turmeric rice was fluffy and flavorful, and the shrimp curry was even more perfect with the rice than with the naan. All the drinks were also delicious. I will definitely come back again. Now I understand why it's impossible to get in without a reservation.

The curry here is delicious! The naan and cheese kulcha are also tasty with a moderate level of spiciness. The butter chicken curry (mild) seems to be the most popular, and it is easy for Japanese people to enjoy. The depth of flavor in the curry here is addictive and unlike the sweet curry that Japanese people typically imagine. The individual dishes are also excellent, especially the boneless tandoori chicken and chicken malai tikka which I order every time I visit. The sauces that come with them are also addictive. The variety of alcohol options is surprisingly extensive for a curry restaurant, including shochu, awamori, cocktails, and Indian wines. I discovered a rare sake called jabara sake for the first time at this restaurant. From appetizers to drinks, you can feel the attention to detail in this place. The staff are attentive and efficient, leaving a great impression. I can't wait to go back again soon!

A must-visit famous restaurant among curry enthusiasts! You must make a reservation in advance! We always order these three grilled dishes every time! The combination of spices and herbs with each ingredient creates a wonderful aroma! The mint sauce that comes with them is refreshing and addictive! And the Cheese Kulcha! It's truly delicious!!! The garlic and salt in the cheese blend perfectly with the thin dough, making it a perfect snack with drinks! It's a waste to dip it in curry! Try ordering it as soon as you enter the restaurant! Among all the cheese dishes in the world, Joker loves this Cheese Kulcha the most! Each curry dish has a perfect harmony of colorful spices and ingredients, expertly cooked to suit the Japanese palate, and the saffron rice and naan are irresistible! After traveling to India and Sri Lanka, I became hooked on curry. Seeking an authentic taste, I ordered beer, appetizers, curry, naan, and rice. The butter chicken curry was tangy with a tomato base, perfect with naan. The lamb curry had tender meat with a strong aroma, complemented by okra. The standout was the rice, mixed with cumin just like in Sri Lanka. Mixing it with the lamb curry created a perfect dish. The eggplant and scallop oil pickle was also delicious, especially when poured over the rice. The spice blend was perfect, creating a harmonious flavor profile.

Spicy Mutton Curry 1,300 Chicken Atchari Curry Half 620 Cheese Kurcha 660. I added the Chicken Atchari Curry to the Mutton Curry, the only spicy menu in the lineup. The mutton is undeniably delicious. The Chicken Atchari has the perfect blend of spiciness and sourness from green chili, making it a soup curry that should be an official drink for the Olympics. Come try it before you say anything else. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal.

Finally tried Kachchal Batchal! The butter chicken was surprisingly full of tomato flavor, it was like eating tomato puree. The chicken pieces were large and the dish didn't fully satisfy my curry cravings, but I'd like to try other curries next time. The cheese naan was on the salty side, with a stronger pepper flavor than expected. It might be more suited as a snack. Thank you for the meal!

Awarded with a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2023, "Kacchar Bachar" is a renowned restaurant among curry enthusiasts. While many Indian dishes are known for layering spices to create complex flavors, owner and chef Mr. Tamura takes a different approach by simplifying the process. His Indian cuisine is akin to a unique art form - boldly combining ingredients to bring out their natural flavors while skillfully adding just the right amount of spices. Mr. Tamura, who once aspired to be a painter, first encountered Indian cuisine at "Shinjuku Bombay" with his father, where he was captivated by the unfamiliar tastes and aromas. This experience led him to pursue a career in Indian cuisine, starting at the prestigious "Dhaba India" in Tokyo after traveling through India, Nepal, and Thailand. After honing his skills for 7 years, he opened "Kacchar Bachar" in Otsuka in 2010. Mr. Tamura's menu features expertly blended spices and fragrant curries that respect the natural flavors of the ingredients. Each dish is carefully crafted to enhance the ingredients and create unique flavors without overpowering with spices. The result is a visually stunning dish that reflects Mr. Tamura's artistic vision and passion. The curries at "Kacchar Bachar" are not just delicious; they are also a work of art, harmoniously combining a variety of spices and ingredients. With a balance of flavors tailored to suit Japanese palates, each dish is a masterpiece that will surely captivate diners with its distinctive charm. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Visited the restaurant on a day off at night. Located in Shintotsuka. Ordered shrimp with garlic flavor, boneless tandoori chicken, vegetable curry from North India, and cheese kulcha! There were some things that bothered me, like slow drinks and some aspects of the service, which was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal!

Jabara beer 660, octopus and chickpea salad for one person 550, cheese kulcha 660, pork vindaloo curry 1200, half size rice 220, lassi with Kinmiya 500 + 50. Jabara beer is an original drink made by mixing beer with Japara citrus liqueur from Wakayama prefecture, which even people who don't like beer can enjoy. It goes well with the rich cheese kulcha. The salad was served in a single portion size, which was appreciated. The pork vindaloo has a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors with a hint of spiciness, and it is filled with chunks of pork. I also tried the lassi with Kinmiya, and surprisingly, it was good. Even though I ate a lot, the Ayurvedic cuisine makes me feel healthier. It was amazing. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.
