When I peeked in, there were hardly any customers, so I decided to step inside. The staff told me to sit wherever I liked where they had placed menus. It seems like they are taking measures to prevent crowding due to COVID-19. Since there were few customers, I ended up sitting alone with some distance between others. The beef tendon had good flavor but the portion was small, while the cucumbers had a good portion size and were cost-effective. We also ordered individual skewers such as pork cutlet, ham cutlet, pickled ginger, bamboo shoots, chicken meatball with shiso leaf, fried liver, lotus root, yam, and asparagus, which came to a total of 3,000 yen per person (plus a 250 yen charge). The sauce and oil were good, and we enjoyed the meal without feeling heavy. It was a bit disappointing that they no longer offer the freshly squeezed sour drinks they used to have. Since becoming completely non-smoking, the restaurant has become livelier with more families with children as customers.

I went there for the first time in about a year. As expected, Kushikatsu Tanaka is cheap and delicious!!! They were having a special where all kushikatsu items were only 100 yen each! Lucky me! The good thing about Kushikatsu Tanaka is that the batter is thin and light, so you can eat a lot without feeling too heavy! We ate to our hearts' content, had two drinks each, and it only cost 4200 yen! So cheap! The customer base has changed a lot in the past year, probably because it's now completely non-smoking, so it's all families now!! I think it's a good thing. I will definitely go back again! This time, I ordered from the 200 yen series as it's a great deal at this time of day. The thinly battered skewers are crispy and delicious when dipped in the original sauce. Adding a bit of the "super spicy sauce" on the table enhances the flavor without being too spicy. The combination with the original sauce is fantastic! And when you dip it in the tartar sauce, it becomes even more delicious - it's amazing! For drinks, I played "Chinchirorin" where you roll the dice to determine the size of your drink. It's fun, and I kept trying it multiple times! If you roll an even number, you get a normal-sized drink for free, and if you roll an odd number, you pay for a mega-sized drink! If you're lucky, you might even get multiple free drinks in a row. I also ordered "beef tendon kushikatsu" and "tulip karaage" from the a la carte menu, both of which paired well with the drinks and were delicious. I'm out drinking with my friend H again today. We came to this place in Yakuin called "Kushikatsu Tanaka". Despite being late at night, the place was bustling. They had a single item all-you-can-drink option for 1380 yen, so I started with a lemon chu-hi. For snacks, we had: - Chicken wing drumstick karaage (430 yen) - Katsu udon (640 yen) - Beef kushikatsu (120 yen) The karaage tasted like the Nisshin flour karaage powder.
