Visited for the third time, having previously been in 2016 and 2018. The place has been renovated since my first visit, with acrylic panels for infection control now in place, giving it a modern and clean feel. However, the food samples and storefront outside still evoke a sense of nostalgia. During this visit, as part of a trip to Osaka with my mother, we stopped by for tea after watching a New Comedy show at Grand Kagetsu. My mother ordered a cake set, while I had the sweet red bean soup with mochi. The prices are reasonable, which is great. As a fan of sweet red bean soup, I must say... this one, called "Mitsuya's sweet red bean soup," is really good. It's different from the ones I usually have at "Mihashi" in Ueno, Tokyo, or "Suzume Odori" in Sakae, Nagoya, as the syrup-soaked fruits give off a slightly cheap impression, but it's still good in its own way. I hope this place continues to thrive. I plan to visit Osaka regularly from now on, so I'll definitely come back here again!

In Kanto, Mitsuya is like a restaurant layout and lineup similar to Fujiya. When I come to Osaka, I often stop by for a break. It was hot, so I ordered a refreshing shaved ice. Nowadays, shaved ice often costs over 1,000 yen, but here you can enjoy it at a reasonable price. About 60% of the customers seemed to be foreigners, probably due to the post-COVID inbound tourism boom. When I visited six months ago, I ordered directly from the menu, but now it has changed to QR code ordering. Maybe it's also part of adapting to the times.

I walked around Shinsaibashi and it was too hot, so I took refuge in a shop. Many other customers seemed to be ordering shaved ice. The shaved ice here comes with syrup, sweet red bean paste, and white dumplings served separately. I couldn't make it look pretty, but the taste was satisfying. Next time, I want to try ordering Western food too.

There is a famous shop in Shinsaibashi Shopping Street that I have been curious about for a long time. The shop is popular among foreign customers. They asked me to place my order through a QR code on my smartphone. I ordered a custard pudding & chiffon cake drink set. When the order arrived, the ice had already melted and the tea cup was still filled with dishwasher water. I had to empty the cup before pouring the tea. Since I didn't have high expectations, I thought it was just okay. Thank you for the meal ♬

I went into a cafe that looked like a traditional coffee shop. The interior was spacious, the menu was reasonably priced and very Osaka-like, and the staff were all very nice. The Earl Grey tea I ordered came in a pot with enough for 2 cups, so it was a good deal. I would definitely want to visit this place again when I'm in the area.

Based on a recommendation from my friend in Osaka, I tried the lunch here. I ordered the set with omurice, meat sauce spaghetti, and a variety of cutlets in a large portion. I don't usually go to Western-style restaurants because I have the impression that they are expensive. However, this place is budget-friendly. The meat sauce spaghetti was served on a baked romespa, the omurice had a tomato sauce, and a big tonkatsu. The flavors were light, but I felt like they could use a bit more seasoning. The large portion was a bit too much for me. I didn't end up eating dinner that day.

I went to Namba to see a show at Yoshimoto and decided to have dinner afterwards. It was past 7 pm and there was no waiting time. However, the second floor seating was not available. There were few staff members and they were not around when needed, making us wait multiple times. The lack of staff was more noticeable than the food. The kids' lunch was 650 yen, cheese omelette rice was 880 yen, and the prawn and macaroni gratin in tomato sauce was 880 yen. The Mitsuya set was 1180 yen.

I have been to the Whity Umeda store, and since there was a national travel support coupon, I decided to visit the main store. It was around 12 o'clock. There were about 5 groups waiting, but the store seemed spacious so we were seated quickly. I have been to the cafe before, but this was my first time having lunch, so I was indecisive with the extensive menu. Eventually, I chose the spaghetti with crab cream croquette on top, and a banana juice set. By making it a set with a drink, the price was reduced from 400 yen to around 280 yen. The spaghetti was around 800 yen, so the total was a little over 1000 yen, which felt like a good deal. The spaghetti was served hot on a hot plate. It was thoughtful to provide a paper apron to avoid splashing. The taste was lighter than it looked. I had imagined a rich flavor from the appearance of the sauce generously covering the noodles, but it was not as bold as expected. The half-boiled egg, which I thought would enhance the richness, actually diluted the flavor even more, which was disappointing. The crab cream croquette, however, was delicious. Despite the disappointment, I would go back again for items like the coffee float that don't leave me feeling let down.

After lunch, I went into the shop to have dessert. It was a nostalgic coffee shop filled with a retro atmosphere. The shop seemed like a long-established one. The back of the shop had long, narrow seating with sofa booths like a family restaurant, which looked very comfortable. There was also a retro stained glass at the back of the shop. I love hojicha flavor, and this parfait seemed to not have red bean paste, so I decided to try the hojicha parfait (* 'ᵕ' ). The drink set was reasonably priced, and since I hadn't had mixed juice during my time in Osaka, I decided to add it this time. - Hojicha Parfait (880 yen): No red bean paste, but with chestnuts. The hojicha ice cream had a strong bitterness, which was perfect for hojicha lovers. The glass had jelly inside, but I couldn't tell if it was coffee jelly or hojicha jelly because my tongue was too cold (lol). It was a not too sweet, adult-like Japanese-style parfait with a good aftertaste. It might be a bit pricey considering the size, but it could be the city price. - Mixed Juice: Peach flavor with a slightly thick texture, like nectar. I would like to try different mixed juices from various shops next time. The coffee shop had a wide range of menu options from desserts to meals. Anmitsu seemed to be a popular menu item. The seasonal limited menu at the time (as of September 26th) was chestnut. They have fast Wi-Fi available.

I ordered the "Legendary Mitsuya Rice" in normal size at a store in Nishinomiya before, and I was knocked out by the volume and ended up leaving quite a bit behind. So this time, I ordered the "Mitsuya Rice 5/8 968 yen". Here comes the dish. This is the normal size that is generally served. I have learned that the "Legendary Mitsuya Rice" served in the restaurant is mega-sized. By the way, the girlfriend of the couple sitting diagonally in front of me was eating the Legendary Mitsuya Rice slowly and steadily while breathing heavily, which was very admirable. I enjoyed it today as well. Thank you for the meal.

- Melon soda float - Osaka mix juice float - Koguma-chan (milk) I looked up this long-established shop in Shinsaibashi, which has been open for about 70 years. It started as a pure coffee shop and now seems to be like a family restaurant in the city center, mainly serving Western food. Many people were eating plates of omurice and hamburg steak, or the half & half option where you can choose two main dishes. I really liked the quirky sign above the entrance of the shop. There were also lots of food samples, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

I was curious about the legendary coffee shop Mituya Rice, and was shocked by the size of the samples, but they had a small size so I chose that. Even in the small size, the omelette rice, Neapolitan, meat spa, and cutlet were all surprisingly voluminous and I was able to try them all at once, a dream collaboration. I'm also interested in the gratin series.

Osaka Shinsaibashi, a long-established traditional coffee shop, but the brand new Mitsuya main store♪ Osaka Shinsaibashi Glico♪ Dotonbori, where people wandering around here are mostly tourists. Mitsuya main store on Shinsaibashi-suji is a new shop, but it has a long history as a traditional coffee shop. The entrance is narrow, but the coffee space expands deep inside. They also serve Western food. They have lunch menus that look delicious. The parfaits are also quite good. The samples are beautifully displayed. You can catch a glimpse of the sample culture. The wall paintings have a Dotonbori manga-like atmosphere, which is interesting. Mitsuya's pudding custard pudding & chiffon cake set with a drink costs 980 yen, which I had with lemon tea. It came in a pot. The lemon tea was light and refreshing. The pudding, chiffon cake, and ice cream with fruits were served. The pudding has a gentle flavor, light and delicious. The combination of vanilla ice cream and chiffon cake is sweet yet light♪ Mitsuya is a place where you can enjoy various culinary delights♪

Mitsuya in Shinsaibashi is a long-established store that first opened in 1947, with various branches. I visited the main store for the first time. A doll on a swing welcomed me at the entrance. I ordered the Pork Cutlet, Omelette Rice, and Spaghetti dish, where the omelette rice had ketchup-flavored rice inside. It felt like a lunch for adults who are kids at heart. I enjoyed trying to figure out where the ketchup rice ended and the spaghetti began, hidden under the omelette. The pork cutlet was crispy and delicious, served with ketchup and spaghetti sauce. I ordered the 5/8 size, which was satisfyingly filling. If I had ordered the regular size of the legendary Mitsuya Rice, it would have been a lot.

It is located about a 4-5 minute walk northeast from Exit 14 of Namba Station on the Osaka Metro. Upon entering the restaurant, we were seated at a 4-person table on the first floor. Here, I had the Jumbo Mitsuya Rice. After a short wait, the Mitsuya Rice was brought to the table. It consisted of an omelette rice with tomato sauce in the middle on a white plate, topped with pork cutlet. Alongside, there was spaghetti with meat sauce, and a salad of lettuce, cucumber, and tomato with dressing. The omelette rice had ketchup rice with mushrooms, crispy pork cutlet, and flavorful meat sauce spaghetti, providing a satisfying meal with a good amount of food. The salad helped balance out the richness of the dishes. I left feeling full and satisfied. I look forward to trying a different menu item next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a long-established coffee shop located near the famous spot of Ebisu Bridge in Osaka. It has a nostalgic interior similar to the well-known coffee shop "American" in the neighborhood of Sennichimae, rather than a trendy cafe, giving off a catchy and reassuring vibe like a family restaurant. It was like an oasis in the city, perfect for resting after walking around Shinsaibashi. I ordered a voluminous cafe menu, including the "Custard Pudding Soft" with firm pudding and ice cream served in a jug, and the "Soft Cream Float" reminiscent of the Skakeyo from The Inugamis. It was a visually enjoyable experience. The famous "Blanco Sisters" and various food sample displays, along with the long vertical layout of the shop, evoked a sense of nostalgia from childhood.

I couldn't find the cafe I was originally planning to go to (lol) and ended up finding Mitsuwa in Shinsaibashi by chance. It was actually my first time visiting the main store in Shinsaibashi! I ordered the following: - Limited time offer strawberry chiffon cake (I forgot the official menu name) - Cafe latte During this season, everywhere has strawberry menus popping up and the temptation is strong. The strawberry ice cream and sauce had a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess! I enjoyed it very much ♥️

My wife and I visited the restaurant on Saturday at 5:30 PM. The atmosphere inside was calm. My wife ordered the creamy prawn doria, while I had the legendary Mitsuya rice. The portions were generous, the taste was great, and the cost performance was excellent! It's a restaurant we want to visit again!

When I was a high school student, I remembered the spaghetti I had. I had it at the Tennoji branch of a restaurant called ABECHIKA, which was newly opened at that time. Today, I visited the main branch in Shinsaibashi. The restaurant is located just to the left after crossing the Dotonbori River from Namba. Although the entrance is narrow, the interior is spacious. When I asked the staff if this building belonged to MITSUYA, they confirmed it was indeed their building. I came here to have the famous crab cream croquette spaghetti that I had tried in the past. The spaghetti is served on a sizzling hot iron plate. When it arrives, the sauce is so hot that it splatters, so they put a paper barrier around the edges of the plate to prevent it. I started by eating the croquette on top, followed by the spaghetti. The egg in the middle, however, was cold. The spaghetti is best eaten from the top, but the part touching the iron plate is hot. I enjoyed reminiscing about my high school days while savoring the delicious meal. It's nice to occasionally go on such food adventures. If I have the chance, I would like to stop by again to chat about the old days. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Since moving to Osaka, I finally had the chance to visit Mitsuwa Shinsaibashi Honten, a place I've been wanting to visit for a long time. I ordered their famous "Legendary Mitsuwa Rice" Jumbo Mitsuwa Rice (1,298 yen). It's a combination plate of pork cutlet, omelette rice, and spaghetti. While I enjoyed trying this menu for the first time, I don't think I'll be ordering it again. The flavors are all tomato-based, which I found a bit monotonous. I wish they offered a cream-based or curry-based option to switch things up. The pork cutlet was hot and delicious, but the omelette rice and spaghetti were quite cold. The omelette rice was made with chicken rice, which I found a bit boring. The highlight for me was the delicious tomato sauce, with a subtle acidity and rich flavor that set it apart. I also ordered the shrimp fry and omelette rice set, but I was disappointed that the omelette rice wasn't as carefully made. While I finally got to try the "Legendary Mitsuwa Rice" that I had been looking forward to, I don't think I'll be coming back due to the lackluster experience with the service and seating arrangements.
