***January 2020 (1st visit)***
The New Year has ended, but right after that, there was a three-day weekend. After finishing a 10km jog on my day off, I took a relaxing bath at a hot spring and then went to Osaka Dotonbori Winds to watch horse racing. Before that, I decided to explore some "yakiniku lunch" places that I've been into recently, and I remembered the meal I had at the "Nankai-dori branch" before, so this time I went to the "Yakiniku Koirori Sennichimae branch" for a yakiniku lunch.
Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed that it was a bit smaller compared to the "Nankai-dori branch," but it was still almost full, showing that it is quite popular. I sat at the counter seat for 1-2 people and ordered the "Yakiniku Bara Teishoku" (850 yen including tax) using the unfamiliar touch panel button system. About 5 minutes later, all the items arrived. Just like last time, I prepared by adding plenty of yakiniku sauce, grated garlic, and yangnyeomjang.
After about 5 minutes, the yakiniku was cooked perfectly.
1. "Yakiniku Bara Teishoku"
[Appearance] ★★★☆☆
The size of each piece of meat is a bit small! There are nine pieces, and while the meat looks a bit sinewy with little fat, once cooked, the meat juices come to the surface, making it look delicious.
[Taste] ★★★★☆
I dipped the nicely grilled bara meat in the sauce and took a bite. "Mmm, delicious..." The meat, which I think is American, has a unique chewy texture and umami flavor typical of sinewy lean meat. I personally love "tsurami" in yakiniku, so I enjoyed this lean meat that is similar to the part I like, even though it may not be to everyone's taste who prefers more fatty bara meat.
Without delay, I tried the "Yakiniku Bara On The Rice" placed on a bed of rice. "Mmm, I see why I've been hooked on this flavor recently! Delicious..." The sweet soy sauce-based yakiniku sauce with the aromatic garlic and the deep sweet and spicy yangnyeomjang accentuated the taste, enhancing the deliciousness of the rice. It's a flavor that lifts your spirits! The lightly grilled cabbage is a refreshing side dish, and the soup, with its light saltiness from beef bone broth and the sesame oil adding a nice touch, I quickly finished it.
After savoring the yakiniku bara and turning the leftover rice into a tea-flavored dish by pouring it into the soup, I finished my meal.
[Overall] I had a yakiniku lunch at the "Yakiniku Koirori Sennichimae branch" this time, and it was delicious, especially considering the high cost performance of under 1,000 yen. Taste-wise, I preferred the "Mix Teishoku" I had last time, with its kalbi, bara, and harami, and the better quality of the meat. Next time, I'm thinking of trying the "Bone-In Kalbi Teishoku." Yakiniku on rice with grated garlic is the best! I feel energized now... Thank you for the meal.
