Before going to Tosu Outlet, I went to "Daichi no Udon" for the first time in a while. I arrived 5 minutes before opening and there were already customers waiting. It's definitely very popular. I purchased a meal ticket at the entrance. I love the "Tenzaru" so I ordered it again this time. The transparency of the noodles unique to the Buzen Urauchi-kai and the firm texture that you can't experience with Hakata Udon! The freshly fried tempura is also delicious! Next time, I want to try the "bukkake" udon! Thank you for the meal!

I visited during lunchtime. I tried the Ushitatekai flow from Buzen. I entered the restaurant with high expectations. As soon as I entered, there was a ticket vending machine at the entrance. Since I arrived around 11:30, there were still empty seats available. However, I felt a bit rushed because I had to make a quick decision at the ticket machine. I decided to go with the Daichi Set (700 yen). It included udon noodles with toppings of burdock tempura, meat, and wakame seaweed, along with two pieces of inari sushi. It was a great deal for the price. The udon noodles were the unique transparent and smooth noodles characteristic of Ushitatekai. The broth was delicious as always. The crispy burdock tempura, tender meat, and fresh wakame complemented the dish perfectly. It was undeniably delicious. I finished everything, including the broth. Next time, I might try the bukkake udon. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back again.

Visited Daichi no Udon in Dazaifu for a business trip from Nagoya to Fukuoka. Before a meeting, I had lunch there and ordered the Vegetable Tempura Udon for 710 yen. The parking lot was spacious and easy to park. I entered the restaurant and purchased my meal from the ticket machine on the right. The udon was served in a large bowl with crispy vegetable tempura on top. I noticed the condiments on the table had "Tsudaya-style" written on them, realizing it was a shop affiliated with the Buzen Urauchi-kai. The tempura was deliciously crispy, although the noodles lacked the firmness I prefer. I enjoyed the meal while savoring the tempura and slurping the noodles. Overall, it was a tasty experience.

It's hot, so cold udon sounds good. However, the Dazaifu store I usually go to is unexpectedly closed today. But it's okay, I have a car so I can go to the Chikushino store nearby. I was prepared for crowds during lunchtime, but the parking lot was surprisingly empty. I might be lucky today. I stood in front of the ticket machine, hesitated for a moment, then decided on the cold udon with burdock tempura and grated radish topping, and ordered a large size. I handed the ticket to the staff and requested it to be served cold. The taste of udon at Daichi is consistent and reliable across all their locations. It's great to have a chain restaurant like this. The noodles slide smoothly down the throat. Although I consider myself an all-around udon lover, from soft to Sanuki style, in the summer, the thin and cold noodles are truly appreciated. Lastly, I carefully gather the remaining tempura and grated radish in the bowl to make sure nothing is left. Ah, I'm satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the burdock tempura udon. There was a long line and it was quite busy. The burdock tempura was so big that it didn't fit on the plate, and it was deliciously crispy. The daikon radish grated on top was light and refreshing, which paired well with the tempura. Next time, I want to try the plum grated topping.

It's been a while since I visited "Daichi no Udon". Although there are branches in and outside the prefecture, I went to the one in Chikushino City on this day. I bought tickets for zaru udon and kake udon from the ticket machine. First, I tried the zaru udon (510 yen). The thin noodles, about 5x5mm, had a slightly yellowish color with a translucent appearance. They had a chewy texture and a strong elasticity when slurped. However, I couldn't taste the wheat flavor at all, no matter how much I chewed. The noodles lacked flavor and sweetness, reminding me of Morioka reimen. It felt like tapioca starch or a similar processed starch was heavily used, given the strange translucency. The broth was disappointingly too sweet for my liking. Next, I tried the kake udon (360 yen). The soup, made primarily from bonito flakes and kelp, was delicious. As for the noodles, they lacked flavor but had a good elasticity. In my opinion, "Daichi no Udon" is a place where you should order dishes with tempura as they fry it really well, rather than just enjoying the noodles. Despite this, the prices are reasonable, so I won't give a harsh critique.

Daichi Udon is a udon restaurant that I have been hooked on for a long time, to the point where I would definitely come to eat when I come to Fukuoka. It is located in various places, which is convenient as I can stop by when I have errands to run. It may not be suitable for those who prioritize firmness in their udon. Personally, I prefer it over Sanuki udon. The semi-transparent noodles are aged somehow, and they are chewy and have a great texture. I went there for lunch, but I'm already thinking of having dinner here as well. The burdock tempura is crispy and tastes amazing when dipped in the broth.

Visited during the consecutive holidays. Arrived after 1 pm and had to wait. Luckily, we were seated after waiting for 2 groups. There were always around 15 people waiting while we were eating. There is a parking lot, but it is a bit small. Just like the main store, they use a ticket machine system where you purchase a ticket before ordering. There are table seats, counter seats, and traditional Japanese tatami seats. The udon noodles were delicious as always. Many customers were eating the cold udon due to the season.

The udon restaurant at Hakata Station was extremely crowded, so I went to the Chikushino branch. I arrived at 12:30 pm and although it was busy, I was able to find a seat without any issues. I ordered the beef and burdock udon. I was told by someone with me that the chicken rice is a must-try in Kyushu. I had eaten udon at Sannou Udon in the morning, so I had to resist the temptation. I've been gaining weight a lot, so I need to be careful. It took quite some time for the udon to arrive, about 15 to 20 minutes, as they cut the udon after ordering. The burdock tempura was so big that I didn't know how to eat it, but I ended up putting it all in the udon. I like when the tempura blends with the udon broth, but this was a volume that exceeded my liking. I'm sorry for leaving the burdock tempura. Please be careful not to slip and get hurt as the floor is very slippery like at Tenkaippin.

Visited Daichi no Udon in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture in response to a request. It's a popular restaurant always with long lines and full parking. Right at the entrance is a ticket vending machine, leaving no room for confusion. The staff quickly asks for your order as you buy a ticket. I found this a bit challenging. I ordered the Vegetable Tempura Udon for 710 yen (tax included), the Meat Kimchi Udon for 710 yen (tax included), and a Mini Pork Cutlet Bowl for 340 yen (tax included). To keep my appetite up, I focused on my greasy legs and shoes, trying to gauge their mood as I sat down. In about 10 minutes, the Vegetable Tempura Udon arrived, looking impressive with its large portion of tempura vegetables. The tempura vegetables were delicious. My son found the Meat Kimchi Udon too spicy. He still has a long way to go in terms of spiciness. I silently thought to myself that he's on the wrong path. The staff bid farewell with a friendly smile at the end, which was nice. Thank you for the meal♪

In the first post since the calm of the coronavirus pandemic, I went to a Uradachi series restaurant and had gobou tempura. Uradachi restaurants serve a unique type of semi-transparent noodles. The number of Uradachi series restaurants has been increasing, offering various shapes and styles. Daichi Udon is a long-standing establishment. It would be nice if the store had a bit more cleanliness. Today's noodles were lacking a bit in firmness, but the gobou tempura was as crispy and delicious as ever. I plan to gradually start posting more reviews from now on. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Daichi Udon for the first time in a while during lunchtime, and it was as busy as ever. The place was almost full. This time, I tried the shrimp tempura udon for the first time. The shrimp was a bit small, but it was firm and had a good texture. There was plenty of seaweed in the udon, and when mixed with Daichi Udon's signature translucent thin noodles, it was incredibly delicious. The broth also had a great flavor. It was very hot, but slurping up the piping hot noodles while blowing on them is a winter tradition. The broth is really hot, so you can ask for it to be a bit cooler if you prefer. It looks like it's going to be a great New Year's meal. Thank you for the meal.

Visited Udon restaurant with my family. We ordered the Udon set from Buzen Urauchi Association, which had beautifully clear noodles. We also got the Daichi Udon set, Katsu Don set, and Mini Don & Mini Udon set. Since I'm not a fan of fried foods, we shared the Gobo Tempura which was delicious. It was busy with families with kids at the end of the year, so there was a bit of a wait, but the turnover was quick and the staff were energetic and efficient, so the wait wasn't a problem.

I visited this shop located at the foot of Tenpaiyama in between shopping. Even at around 3 o'clock, the shop was almost full! The menu is extensive and it's hard to decide, but you have to purchase a ticket at the entrance in advance, so I felt a bit rushed while waiting for other customers to finish ordering haha. The udon here has clear, slippery noodles. I was intrigued by what others were ordering, so I copied them and got the warm broth with burdock tempura on top. It was a normal portion, but there was a lot of it! The burdock tempura was also quite big! It was a large serving! I tend to get stomachaches easily, but even on this day, I couldn't finish it haha. Sorry about that... but it was delicious~~♪ You can squeeze some lemon on top for a refreshing taste if you like ^ ^

Located in Chikushino City, at the foot of Tenpai Mountain. This is my second visit. The parking lot is shared with other curry and ramen shops. The ticket machine system is always a challenge for me. I ordered the fried chicken udon, which was around 710 yen. It came with burdock tempura, seaweed, and 4 pieces of fried chicken on the side. The fried chicken was hot, crispy, and juicy, with a well-seasoned flavor. However, because the burdock was also fried, it felt a bit heavy. The chewy noodles were still to my liking. My companion had the meat udon again. It never gets old... It was crowded with customers. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited Daichi no Udon Chikushino store again! There are various dishes available here. Last time I visited, I was greeted by the fragrant smell of curry and dashi from Daichi. Looking back, there was a curry udon dish waiting for me. Since then, I have had a crush on it... So, I decided to order the curry udon with white rice this time. The Chikushino store has a tatami room at the back, which is convenient for families with children. When my dish arrived, I noticed that the curry udon was topped with a generous amount of tempura, including a large egg. The curry had a slightly sweet taste with a hint of dashi flavor. The tempura included carrots, pumpkin, eggplant, and potatoes, all of which were delicious and fresh. The noodles had a good balance of softness and chewiness. The soup had a curry flavor at first, followed by a gentle sweetness from bonito and kelp. After finishing the noodles, I mixed the remaining soup with rice to create a mini curry rice dish. Overall, the meal was satisfying and filling, perfect for when you need a comforting and delicious meal.

It's been a long time since I visited Daichi-san, and this is my first time at the Chikushino store! As always, it's quite popular, but the udon was served quickly, so I didn't have to wait long. I ordered the popular "Vegetable Tempura Udon" in a cold version. The udon noodles were transparent and had a good chewy texture. The tempura vegetables were large and well-fried, with ingredients like burdock root, eggplant, shiso leaf, pumpkin, potato, bell pepper, carrot, and shimeji mushrooms. The dipping sauce was light and refreshing, making it a perfect dish for a hot day. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, especially when dipped in the sauce. Overall, it was a great meal to combat the summer heat and stay healthy.

Famous for their unique methods of making noodles, broth, and seasonings that are different from both Hakata and Sanuki udon, "Buzen Uchida-kai" is an udon organization originating from Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu City. Among the nearly 40 affiliated stores, "Daichi no Udon" is a large group with 8 stores. The main store is located in Kamigammon, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City, and this time I visited the Chikushino store in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture. One of the popular menu items at any of the "Buzen Uchida-kai" stores is the udon topped with a giant frisbee-like "gobo tempura". Additionally, you can fully enjoy the cold "bukkake udon" with beautifully resilient thin noodles. Personally, I love the "vegetable tempura bukkake" with various vegetable tempura toppings. This time, I found the words "New!! Karaage Bukkake" on the ticket machine, so I ordered the "Karaage Bukkake" for 710 yen. The familiar bukkake udon came with a large piece of karaage on top. The famous "gobo tempura" is not in the form of a tempura fritter, but thin slices of tempura. It may not have the impact of a tempura fritter, but it is easier to eat. The crystal-clear noodles also have a unique texture that is chewy and smooth. The chicken karaage is substantial and satisfying to eat. The combination of udon and karaage is a bit unusual. Grated daikon radish with a refreshing taste was also served on the side, which was nice. Thank you for the meal♪

I dropped by on a steamy early summer evening! Today, I aimed for a cold bukkake udon (lol) and ordered the familiar menu "Vegetable Tempura Cold Udon" at the food ticket machine at the entrance of Daichi Udon! The staff kindly explained the menu as well. The restaurant was relatively empty for dinner time. The staff were all wearing cute "I ❤︎ Gobo Tempura" caps. Looking around the restaurant, about one-third of the customers seemed to have ordered the same menu! People of all ages and genders seem to love it here. My friends ordered the Daichi Udon set and Kitsune Udon. The deliciousness of the clear udon noodles is always outstanding whenever I come here! Smooth and tasty! Truly a representative of the Buzen Urauchi Association, this shop never fails to satisfy! I enjoyed my meal today as well! Thank you!

The udon at Toyomae Uchida-kai is delicious, especially the noodles. Personally, I love wakame udon, so whenever I order udon, I always go for wakame udon. Here, I also added extra wakame, grated yam, and grated yamaimo. The broth and noodles are both delicious, and I am very satisfied.
