On Sunday just before 1pm, the restaurant was full with a few people waiting in line. After about a 15-minute wait, we were seated! There were many tempting menu items, but I decided to order the mapo tofu set meal. It was the right choice, as the mapo tofu had a nice spicy kick to it and tasted authentic! The fried chicken that came with it was also delicious! I will definitely be coming back to this place!

This Chinese restaurant is always crowded at lunchtime and popular. I had mapo tofu and fried chicken. The mapo tofu was slightly spicy but lacked numbing flavor and depth. Personally, I would have preferred it to have more Sichuan peppercorns and fermented black beans. The fried chicken was crispy and well-seasoned with salt and pepper. It was delicious. I heard that the lamb mapo tofu is popular here, so I would like to try it. It seems to have a nice chewy texture and flavor. Thank you for the meal! Items Ordered: - Mapo Tofu Set Meal ¥980 - Fried Chicken (2 pieces) ¥275

I wanted to eat delicious Chinese food, so I decided to try this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I arrived at 9:00 PM, so I was able to enter smoothly as there were only regular customers who seemed to be a group. (Later on, another group of customers who seemed like regulars arrived.) I ordered a draft beer, an assortment of appetizers, Mao Zedong-style spicy soft bone, and hot and sour noodles. The assortment of appetizers was great value for money. The Mao Zedong-style spicy soft bone was also delicious. (I wonder if it's related to Aoyama Shanwei?) The hot and sour noodles were not the type I personally prefer with tofu being too thin and the egg having a different texture, but they were extremely spicy! Mixing the leftover Mao Zedong-style spice with the noodles was amazing. (I wonder if they sell just the noodles?) I want to try other dishes next time. I also want to have some sparkling wine. Thank you for the meal! I will do my best to become a regular customer.

I had been to this place once during the day and once at night, but I finally got to go back again. The mapo tofu set meal here is really delicious! If it was closer, I would definitely be a regular customer. I wish it was a bit spicier. I wonder if they would make it spicier if I asked? Hmm, I want to go back again! Thank you for the meal!

I had lunch near Sumiyoshi Shrine in Hakata and decided to give another try to a restaurant that was closed the last time I visited. I ordered the Tom Yum Kung Tantanmen for 980 yen. It was 11:30 on a Sunday and the restaurant was only half full. This area usually has long lines at lunchtime on Sundays, so it was nice to be seated right away. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. It was a creative Tantanmen with shrimp and lemon. The soup was rich with white sesame, and the noodles were thick. The shrimp in the soup still had their shells on, so they were a bit difficult to eat. Unfortunately, they did not accept PayPay as a payment method.

~Sumiyoshi Lunch~: I tried the popular Chinese restaurant, a sister shop of Anjin-so, and had the Five-Ingredient Thick Noodles!! The seasoning was well done and it was delicious! Today I had some errands near Canal and had lunch here! This is the sister restaurant of Kyoan-so in Higashi-Hie, which is a personal favorite of mine. The interior has a counter and table seating and is of a medium size. I looked at the menu and was intrigued by the weekly lunch special this time. - Weekly lunch special: Lamb Mapo Tofu (1,000 yen) - Gomoku Spring Roll (275 yen) A popular dish at night, the balance of cumin and chili in the Mapo Tofu caught my attention as a fan of the dish. I also ordered one Gomoku Spring Roll as an addition. After about a 10-minute wait, the Mapo Tofu lunch set arrived at my table! This time, it came with a small side dish of pork and onion sauce, adding to the value. I tried the Mapo Tofu that I was curious about... Oh! The flavor of cumin! When I tasted it, it had a curry-like atmosphere for a moment. The soft tofu with a flavorful and moderately spicy sauce... The strong lamb flavor and scent were not particularly noticeable, perhaps due to the cumin. It was a Mapo Tofu that I personally enjoy, and the rice went down well with it. Next up was the Gomoku Spring Roll! The crispy freshly fried skin with a filling of pork, bamboo shoots, onions, etc. was pleasantly sticky. The longer size added to the value as well. Next time, I might go back to basics and try the tantanmen after a long time. I will definitely revisit when I'm in the area again! Thank you for the meal!

This is my first visit to this Chinese restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. I ordered xiaolongbao, roasted char siu, century egg, oil-drizzled chicken, shark fin fried rice, and sesame balls. The xiaolongbao has a lot of soup inside and is very hot, so be careful not to burn yourself. The roasted char siu is slightly sweet in flavor. The oil-drizzled chicken was very delicious! I would like to visit again.

I visited Kyoanbouzu for a solo lunch on a regular day. It's located about a 10-minute walk from Gion Station, very close to Canal City. Kyoanbouzu is a popular Chinese restaurant. I arrived at 11:30 when they opened. The interior was a bit dimly lit, with already 2 groups of 5 customers each. I sat at the counter alone. On the table, there were soy sauce, vinegar, Chinese vinegar, chili oil, chopsticks, spoon, paper towels, and napkins. Water was served after I sat down. This time, I ordered the weekly special, which was the Lamb Mapo Tofu set meal for 1,000 yen with a large serving. The rice came in a large serving as a bonus. The food arrived in about 7 minutes. The set meal included the main dish, rice, soup, and a side dish (spicy fried eggplant and lotus root). The Lamb Mapo Tofu, popular during dinner time, was delicious with the fragrance of cumin and spiciness of chili, making it hard to stop eating the rice! The side dish was simple but good. Be careful as the soup was very hot. Kyoanbouzu offers a wide variety of menu options. I recommend visiting at least once. I plan to revisit during dinner time.

I used to go to restaurants in Hakata often, but this was my first time here! I usually see a lot of customers during lunch on weekdays, but this time I went a little early and was able to get a seat. I ordered my favorite black sesame tantanmen and was relieved that it tasted the same as always. I tried the side menu of roulo fan for the first time this time, but it didn't feel as authentic as I had expected. It's hard to find something as delicious as Kirin's side menu bowls.

I went to this restaurant after being invited by a friend. I had no idea that such a good restaurant existed in this area. My friend seems to go there often and recommended it to me. The cuisine is Chinese, with just the right amount of each dish and a variety of options to choose from. We ordered dishes such as char siu, tomato and octopus with mustard sauce, bang bang chicken, stir-fried squid, eel fried rice, and a meat dish. Every dish was delicious. I will definitely be going back. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I felt like having Chinese food from the morning, so I was looking around and came across this restaurant. I only took photos of the dishes at first, but as I started drinking Shaoxing wine and wine, I forgot to take pictures of the food. I had dishes like century egg tofu, shrimp marinated in Shaoxing wine, boiled dumplings, mapo eggplant, and eel fried rice, all of which were delicious. This time, I went with only men, but it seems like a restaurant that women would also enjoy, so I plan to go with my wife next time. Thank you for the meal.

I have been curious about the second brand store of the popular restaurant CHINABAL Almond House in Hakata Station South since it opened. I used it for lunch. They have tantanmen, soupless tantanmen, mapo tofu, and other menu items that caught my eye. I decided to try the weekly lunch special, the whimsical shumai and karaage lu rou fan set for 1100 yen. I love lu rou fan! The sweet and savory, tenderly cooked small diced pork and white rice were a perfect match (you can choose from large, medium, or small rice portions). And the shumai! It was delicious with the juicy meat dripping. The egg soup was authentic and the karaage was of course delicious. It was a lunch full of value with a variety of dishes to enjoy a little bit of everything. I would like to visit this place at night for drinks if I have the chance.

I searched because I really wanted to eat Mapo Tofu, and ended up here. I was hoping for something like a set meal for dinner since I don't drink alcohol alone, but unfortunately, it seems that set meals are only available for lunch. So, I ordered Mapo Tofu and a medium-sized bowl of rice. Feeling a bit unsatisfied, I also ordered the juicy meat dumplings. It ended up costing 1650 yen, and somehow felt like a set meal. The Mapo Tofu arrived in a hot pot, steaming. There were many red peppers... it looked spicy (laughs). However, when I tried it, it was not as spicy as I expected. It actually tasted more like miso. It had a hint of the numbing sensation of Sichuan pepper, but it wasn't overpowering, and didn't make my tongue numb. Some people might find it lacking in flavor. The real standout was the meat dumplings with plenty of juice. They were served on what looked like a spoon, and you could see the meat juice oozing out. They were juicy, flavorful, and had a satisfying texture, not like traditional Japanese dumplings. They were really delicious. I was so impressed by the taste that I felt excited to come back for lunch next time.

✔️Braised pork belly fried rice set meal (¥1100) ✔️Mapo tofu set meal (¥980) A Chinese restaurant near Canal City. Ordered the weekly specials, braised pork belly fried rice and mapo tofu set meals. I had the mapo tofu, which was very authentic with a strong taste of Sichuan pepper. It was spicy but also rich and very delicious. I would love to try other menu items as well! Thank you for the meal.

Finally got to go!! I had tried several times but kept missing it because of their irregular hours! The popular menu item seems to be the Black Sesame Tantanmen, but I decided to order the Tom Yum Kung Tantanmen and the Lu Rou Fan, which was amazing! The Lu Rou Fan was especially delicious! I think fans of Thai cuisine will enjoy the Tantanmen as well!! I will definitely go back again!

This is the second brand store of "CHINA BAL Anjinzou" located in the south of Hakata Station. It is near Canal City Hakata and Sumiyoshi Shrine, within walking distance of JR Hakata Station. Similar to Anjinzou, this place offers a variety of Chinese and dim sum dishes to enjoy with drinks in a casual dining setting. During lunchtime, they offer a rotating lunch menu as well as noodles and set meals. The street where the restaurant is located, Sumiyoshi Miyamae-dori in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, is known as "Orchestra Street" and is home to many unique dining establishments. The interior has counter seats and table seats, with a relaxed atmosphere typical of modern Chinese bars. As a popular spot like the first branch Anjinzou, we had to wait a bit for a table to become available. The sign of the popular Fukuoka noodle shop "Seimenya Keishi" can be seen here. This time, we tried two items from the rotating lunch menu. The "Red Jade Spicy Soup Noodles" for 935 yen had a soup that was apple-colored but very spicy with chili oil. The soup is made with chicken broth, kombu, dried bonito, and spicy chili, and is complemented by plenty of large onions and minced meat. Despite the intense spiciness, the deliciousness of the soup base came through. The "Lurou Curry Rice and Oil-Drizzled Chicken Set Meal" for 1,000 yen combined Taiwanese soul food "Lurou Rice" with Japanese curry and included popular oil-drizzled chicken. The curry sauce with small chunks of simmered pork, vegetables, boiled egg, and curry powder topping, along with the stylish oil-drizzled chicken resembling marinated fried chicken, made for a satisfying meal. In addition to the rotating lunch menu, there are various other options available, so I look forward to trying more noodle and rice dishes next time. They also offer a selection of dishes that pair well with alcohol in the evening. The weekly lunch menu and store holidays are posted on their official Instagram.

Today, I made a quick visit to Canal Office. I changed my lunch time just to go to this shop, but it was totally worth it. The shop closes at 2 pm, so it's hard to go, but my wish finally came true. The shop is a popular second brand of the Chinese restaurant Anjinso. It's also quite popular. They serve lunch from 1 pm, and it's a 4-5 minute walk from here. I got a bit lost following the map and ended up taking a 15-minute detour to arrive. When I entered, the shop was almost full, with only one spot at the counter in the middle available. I told the staff that I was alone, and after a short wait of 2-3 minutes, I was seated at the counter. Since I really wanted to come here, I couldn't decide between noodles or a set meal. When I asked the staff for a recommendation, they suggested the weekly special fish and chicken spicy mixed soba, which is quite popular. So, without thinking too much, I ordered that. After a while, the noodles arrived. I thought it would be soba noodles soaked in soup, but it turned out to be mixed soba noodles, a surprising twist! But it was delicious, with a refreshing green onion aroma and just the right amount of spiciness. It came with a free dessert, and the sesame dumplings were freshly fried and delicious. I definitely want to try their regular set meal next time. Looking forward to it!

I visited Sumiyoshi's "Apricot Monk" and the sister restaurant of the very popular "Apricot-so" Chinese restaurant. The authentic mapo tofu was delicious and the black sesame tantan noodles were addictive. Everything was delicious and I want to go back soon. The owner chef is a friendly person who is passionate about Chinese cuisine, which is why the food is so delicious! The weekly lunch specials are also very popular. Average cost per person is about 3,000 yen. Restaurant Information: - Name: Apricot Monk - Hours: 11:30-17:30, 23:00 - Phone: 092-292-1199 - Closed: Irregular holidays - Private room: No - Location: 2-4-7 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Today, I wandered around Hakata without a specific purpose because it's a holiday. Just around lunchtime, I spotted this place and decided to revisit it! Since I missed out on eating mapo tofu at a different restaurant yesterday, I was determined to have it today! And of course, a beer too! The interior of the restaurant had counter seats, table seats, and was of a moderate size. Even though it was just before 1 pm, it was almost full and still popular! I glanced at the menu and ordered what I came for! - Mapo tofu set meal (980 yen) - Meat bun (150 yen) - Draft beer (600 yen) - Bottle beer I also added the meat bun that was recommended for today... After about 10 minutes of waiting, the set meal arrived at the counter seat! There was a small dish with white fish and herb sauce, which added to the value! First, I tried the mapo tofu that I was curious about... Let's taste it! Hmm! It was a type with a strong flavor of meat miso... The spiciness was just right, with a good amount of Sichuan pepper that made me break a sweat! It was a type of mapo tofu that goes well with rice and was delicious! Next up was the meat bun! A hot meat bun is a must in cold weather! Laughing The filling was full of ingredients such as green onions, bamboo shoots, and cabbage... The savory flavor was so strong that I didn't even need the vinegar soy sauce! I couldn't help but order another beer with such delicious side dishes... Laughing I had a great lunchtime, thanks to the holiday! Maybe next time I'll go for some warm noodles? Thank you for the meal!
