On the second day of the visit, we started at a standing soba shop called "Mataya" in Nishinari, walking from the hotel through Janjan Yokocho towards Tsutenkaku. There was a line of about 10 people at this shop, which was ranked No. 2 in the Osaka Standing Soba Ranking in August! The top spot went to "Tatsumiya" in Ibaraki City, and I have already visited all the shops that made it to the top 10 (laughs). Today's destination is a shop that didn't make the ranking list, "Mitsuyoshi Udon". The location of this shop is amazing, right next to the legs of Tsutenkaku! Not directly underneath, but right next to it (laughs). As you can see in the photos, in this day and age, a cup of udon here costs only 170 yen! Isn't this the cheapest standing udon in Osaka? I ordered the tempura soba with seaweed for 330 yen. The tempura soba came with shrimp tempura with tails on! This is really a bargain for 330 yen!! The broth was delicious, and the soba had a chewy texture typical of standing soba shops. There was also a little bit of grated yam on top. This was a great meal in terms of taste, portion size, and cost. If I were to create a ranking of standing udon and soba shops in Osaka, this place would definitely be at the top. Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant was fully booked! The prices were very reasonable for delicious broth, tasty udon, tempura, and meat. I want to try all the different dishes! If this place was near my house, I would want to come here every day! I brought a friend from Aomori and they kept saying how delicious the broth was while eating!

Located right below the Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka's Shinsekai district is Sanpachi Udon. The broth here is amazing! Even in the middle of summer, they don't serve cold udon. Eating while sweating adds to the experience! The Niku Soba for 320 yen is cheap, fast, and delicious! The meat juices and tasty broth mix together perfectly. It's the best! When you visit Shinsekai, be sure to stop by! The day before heading back home. I was determined to eat thoroughly this day haha. I wandered around Tsutenkaku early in the morning and found a cheap and delicious looking udon restaurant. I ordered the meat udon. The broth was slightly thin and had a subtle kelp flavor. The meat was not served on top but mixed in the broth, I think? It was tender. The noodles were soft and had a familiar taste. I think this restaurant must be respected for filling the locals' stomachs early in the morning. Thank you for the meal!

Today is Sunday. I arrived a little after opening time and had to wait a bit. I ordered beef udon with tempura on top. It only cost 430 yen. The broth was a bit light but flavorful, and the combination of the beef and noodles was delicious. I hope they continue to do well.

I didn't order any toppings at the main branch of Sara, but at the two cheap udon and soba shops near Tsutenkaku, I did. Matsuya has already been visited several times. The challenge is here at Miyoshi. They close after lunchtime, so I haven't been able to stop by until now. I ordered the "chopped soba". The kitsune is sweet. "Chopped as it is". The couple running the place are doing a great job. It's unbelievable that it's only 220 yen. Despite having just had one at Sara, the soup was so delicious that I finished it. It's rare (^ ^ ♪ The Tsutenkaku area was already bustling with many tourists. There seemed to be more white people than Koreans and Chinese, as opposed to before. I hope they can revive tourism in this country!

Before watching a movie at Shinsekai Toei, I used to stop by "Mitsuyoshi Udon" for a quick bite. However, in the past six months, my work and lifestyle have been hectic, so I haven't had the chance to visit Shinsekai Toei. That's why it had been a while since I last visited "Mitsuyoshi Udon." I usually order the meat udon with an egg added. Well, I've tried the tempura, minced meat, curry, and other options, but the meat udon is my go-to choice here. It's cheap and delicious, priced at 320 yen for the meat udon, or 360 yen with an added egg (which costs 40 yen). The menu board photo was taken on March 20, 2023. The prices are exactly the same as they were in November 2019. It's amazing how they have managed to keep the prices stable despite the rising costs in various sectors since October 2022. Wheat flour, utility bills, and other expenses must be putting a lot of pressure on their business. In fact, as of March 2023, even the price of eggs has gone up. Yet, they continue to offer delicious udon at the same affordable prices, which is truly commendable. However, I feel like their operating hours have been reduced compared to before. I vaguely remember that they used to be open until the afternoon (not sure). Also, I think they used to be closed only on Wednesdays (not sure), but now they are closed on Tuesdays as well. Perhaps they are trying to reduce costs by lowering their operating hours. In any case, I will continue to visit "Mitsuyoshi Udon" before heading to Shinsekai Toei, as they still offer affordable and tasty udon.

Today is not rainy but cloudy, so let's go on a mini train journey in the city. The destination is here from Shin-Imamiya Station. I tried before but it was closed after 2:00 PM. Today it's past 12:00 PM so it should be fine. It's hard to tell if it's open because the curtain is not up. There is a long counter with a water server in the middle, self-service. I ordered Kitsune Udon with meat topping for 360 yen. The Kitsune Udon has half of fried tofu. The meat has a nice lingering smell of hormones, different from the usual sweet and savory meat. Oh, the deluxe option with Kitsune, egg, and tempura is 370 yen, it should be delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The standing udon shop under Tsutenkaku was perfect for breakfast. The taste was just right and it only cost 1050 yen for four people, which made me go "Huh?!" The owners, an elderly couple, were extremely kind. It was such a wonderful shop.

I visited the restaurant "Miyoshi Udon" for lunch that day. It is a standing udon shop located near Tsutenkaku, known for being cheap, fast, and delicious. The shop has been around for a long time, and recently a new slider (slide) was added above the shop, adding to the chaotic atmosphere (laughs). I ordered the "Deluxe 2 servings for 470 yen (tax included)", which includes tempura, fried tofu, egg, and grated yam on top of the udon. The volume for the price was really impressive. It was so filling that I left very satisfied. While there is a growing popularity for Sanuki udon shops, I was reminded of the charm of traditional Osaka udon shops. Thank you for the meal!

When I visited Osaka for a soccer game and stopped by Shinsekai the next day, I revisited the restaurant "Mitsuyoshi Udon" after about 2 and a half months! It was a Sunday and I arrived around 13:45, but I was able to enter smoothly without much of a wait. As for the menu, this time I ordered the kitsune udon. The customer who came in right after me was told by the owner that they had run out of ingredients, so only curry udon was available, so be aware that they may run out depending on the time of day. The kitsune udon was priced at ¥220 (tax included). As for the taste, when it comes to Osaka, udon is better than soba, and the sweet fried tofu in the kitsune udon paired well with the flavorful broth! In summary, the kitsune udon had simple ingredients like fried tofu, grated yam, and green onions, but being able to enjoy a udon with a rich broth at this price is unbeatable. Once again, it was a high-quality bowl with great value for money! Thank you for the meal! If I have the chance, I will definitely visit again!

Udon restaurant with the best cost performance located just below Tsutenkaku Tower. I visited around 2 PM and saw a line of customers, so I knew it was popular. The chef quickly served the udon, so I could eat without stress. I tried the Tsukimi and Kitsune udon, both were very filling and delicious.

■Order Content Niku Udon (Beef Udon) 320 yen ■Impressions With a sign that reads "Udon, Soba, 170 yen," I finally realized that this was an udon shop as I wrapped around the Tsutenkaku Tower. The shop's exterior is a complete surprise, but once you step inside, it's just a normal standing-eating shop. What's not normal is the surprisingly low prices of the udon dishes. The broth, made with bonito flakes, is light but delicious. The udon is soft and fluffy, typical of Osaka-style noodles that are just warmed up. The beef portion for this price is generous, with thinly sliced meat cooked in a sweet and savory sauce. Unlike the Sanuki style, the thin slices of beef blend very well with the broth. I prefer this type over the sweeter version. The meat's fat seeps into the broth, adding to its deliciousness. There may not be a long line, but there are always 3-4 customers rotating in and out, suggesting strong local support. Osakans won't come if it's cheap but not delicious. The Tower Slider opening after Golden Week, with the shop remaining below it, is another interesting Osaka story. ■Location & Access Located directly below the "Eiffel Tower of Naniwa," Tsutenkaku Tower, about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Ebisucho Metro Station. ■Menu Kake Udon (Soba) 170 yen and up, with toppings like kitsune (fried tofu) and tempura. Only cash payments are accepted, and you receive your order immediately. ■Interior Only standing-eating counters are available. Self-serve water is available from the water dispenser in the center of the counter. ■Store Information (As of April 2022) Address: 1-18-6 Ebisuhigashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka Business Hours: 9:00 onwards Thank you for reading until the end. Your "likes" and saving the restaurant would be greatly appreciated.

I visited this restaurant "Mitsuyoshi Udon" for the first time when I stopped by Shinsekai before watching a soccer game in Osaka! The location is right under the landmark of Osaka, Tsutenkaku. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and finally got the chance to visit this time. It was a Sunday around 12:30 pm, and luckily there was standing space available, so I was able to enter smoothly without waiting. I ordered the tempura udon from the menu. The tempura udon was priced at ¥280 (tax included). As for the taste, udon is definitely the go-to in Osaka, and the udon with a rich broth was the perfect way to end the meal! In conclusion, the fact that you can get tempura udon for only 280 yen is unbelievable. Not only is it cheap, but the udon with a flavorful broth was excellent. I thought that it would be hard to find udon with such high cost performance in Tokyo, and I was completely satisfied with everything! Thank you for the meal! If I have the chance, I would definitely visit again!

I rarely visit Tsutenkaku, but I had a meeting in Tennoji, so I wandered through Shinsekai in the morning on Sunday, looking for breakfast under Tsutenkaku. With the lifting of the shortened hours request, there weren't many empty restaurants. I had been holding out for this long, so I didn't want to have breakfast at a chain restaurant, so I kept wandering around. Then, I ended up here without any plans, and I must say, I have a good sense! This place has a tear-inducing price of 170 yen for udon and soba, and the atmosphere is also tear-inducing. Later, I found out that this is a famous long-established standing udon and soba shop. I love this kind of atmosphere in a restaurant. I promptly ordered the "tempura soba" (280 yen). It was quickly prepared and served. It was a good amount for a light breakfast. The noodles were very soft, not really praiseworthy, but in a place like this, it's fine. The tempura was mostly batter, giving it a heavy feeling. But that's okay for this place. However, I was surprised by how delicious the broth was. This must be their selling point. I think it's very tasty for a 170 yen standing udon broth. I hope they continue to maintain this atmosphere and flavor for a long time.

On Saturday night, while casually watching YouTube, I came across images of this shop located at the base of Tsutenkaku Tower, which has been working hard for many years at affordable prices. I was captivated by the current owner's efforts and heartwarming stories with customers. So, on Sunday morning, I quickly finished my work and headed there by train. It was a drizzly Sunday around 11:00 am when I visited. The shop has a very Showa-era atmosphere, making you feel at home like when you visit a neighbor's house. The tempura udon with egg was served very quickly. First, let's talk about the broth. It had a lightly clear and gentle aroma of bonito and kelp, which was excellent! The noodles were slightly soft, but no problem at all. The tempura was a generous shrimp tempura with a lot of batter, but I can't complain given the long-standing efforts to provide affordable prices. It even had grated yam with seaweed. Enjoying udon in this nostalgic setting is the best feeling. Thank you for the meal. The tempura udon with egg costs 320 yen.

I wanted to eat udon in Ebisucho, so I went to Ebisuya, but they were closed due to corona. I remembered seeing a sign under Tsutenkaku, so I changed my plans and found it! They were open! And it was cheap! I had tempura udon with onigiri for only 400 yen, which is a steal! The udon itself was typical Osaka-style with a light texture, but the broth was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal! :)

Underneath the Tsutenkaku Tower, there is an old udon restaurant that has been getting a lot of media and Youtube attention recently. I had not been there in ages, probably over 30 years. I had the Deluxe Udon for 370 yen, which came with kitsune, shrimp tempura, egg, and dashi with kelp. The shrimp tempura was as firm as dried squid, but that just added to the charm. Overall, it was a very affordable udon restaurant. Thank you for the meal! Miyoshi Udon, 1-18-6 Ebisuhigashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka.

I came to New World again for my Osaka gourmet exploration, planning to visit Azuma Shokudo for the first stop. However, it was temporarily closed on that day. So, I headed to a nearby udon shop called Kasu Udon, but it was also closed. Then, I remembered this udon shop, which is known for being cheap and delicious according to social media. The shop is located near the southeast base of Tsutenkaku Tower, not visible from the street. As I approached, I saw the udon menu posted, indicating that this was the place. The interior had only a standing counter, and it was almost full. The menu includes various udon and soba dishes, as well as rice balls, all at very affordable prices. I ordered the Tempura and Agedama Udon for 330 yen. Payment is made after receiving the udon. The udon came with tempura, agedama, and grated kelp. It had a simple yet satisfying taste, considering the price. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

In the heart of Shinsekai, there is a cheap and delicious old standing udon shop called Miyoshi Udon Maido! Yamadera. This day, Yamadera visited a udon shop that they occasionally went to since their 20s, called Miyoshi Udon. The shop is located under the Tsutenkaku Tower. The shop has a standing counter style where you can enjoy your udon. The udon is very affordable, with the Deluxe Udon priced at 370 yen, which includes kitsune (fried tofu), tempura, egg, and kelp. In addition, they also had onigiri for 120 yen. The udon broth is full of love and the combination of onigiri with the udon is a delightful experience. The shop has maintained its delicious taste over the years and Yamadera was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.
