We visited the restaurant with our family of 5 for the first time. We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but they welcomed us warmly and the staff's service was excellent. We ordered the steamed bamboo basket dish, and it was delicious. The rice was especially tasty, and our whole family was very satisfied.

Today, I participated in the XXXXX Fair (exhibition) being held at Marine Messe Fukuoka. I finished work in the morning and started thinking about what to have for lunch as I walked towards the Kurumoncho area. Upon reaching the Kura Moto intersection, I noticed a sign for steamed dishes waving in the wind. It was Yagikawa-ya. Although I had never been inside, I knew it was an established store. It's a long-standing store. The day before, I saw a delicious steamed dish review of Myrebi-sama (Wakamatsuya), so I felt drawn to enter. (laughs) Now, as for the order, the top of the menu was steamed dishes. It had options like bamboo (2200 yen), pine (3300 yen), and special (4400 yen). Being an average Japanese person who seeks moderation, I ordered the "steamed dish (pine)". After about 15 minutes of waiting, it arrived, the steamed dish (pine). On top of the rice were five small yet tender eel slices. I was pleasantly surprised as I had thought there would only be around three slices. The eel was soft and fluffy, and the rice soaked in sauce was delicious. Yes, I devoured it all. It had been a while since I had eel, but it was still delicious. It made me feel happy, almost like a sense of bliss. Alright, let's do our best with work in the afternoon. I will visit the delicious steamed dish restaurant "Yagikawa-ya" again!

I made a reservation through Tabelog and visited the restaurant. My son, who recently moved to Fukuoka, wanted to eat eel and motsunabe. For lunch, we ordered eel steamed in a bamboo steamer, with my wife and I having 5 pieces each, and my son having 7 pieces of the special. The steamed eel was a specialty of Yanagawa, and I chose a restaurant in Fukuoka where we could taste it. It was piping hot, with a well-seasoned rice, but light and delicious. We enjoyed it very much.

I suddenly had a craving for steamed eel, so my wife and I visited Yanagawa-san. It was 8:00 pm on a weekday, and there was only one group of customers. We ordered the grilled eel for 2700 yen and the eel roll for 1100 yen, and toasted with beer. The eel roll arrived first, and since there weren't many appetizers, we decided to order it, but I always thought eel was small. Just then, the grilled eel appeared! The skin was crispy and juicy when bitten. It went perfectly with wasabi. I got carried away and ended up drinking shochu. For the finale, we ordered the steamed eel on a bamboo or pine steamer for 2000 or 3000 yen. I forgot the exact price. First, we tried the rice alone, and it was delicious! The rice steamed with this sauce was amazing! Just this alone made me happy. Eel and rice, unquestionably delicious! Delicious food + delicious food = delicious food. My wife is originally from the Kanto region and didn't really like eel, but she seems to love the steamed eel and box-grilled eel! The taste was consistently good, but perhaps because there weren't many customers, the constant chatter of the young employees and their informal language with the older kitchen staff didn't create a very pleasant atmosphere. I hope they improve on this one point because I want to go back!

I happened to have been drinking until late afternoon and suddenly felt like eating eel, so I visited this restaurant for the first time. I ordered grilled eel, chicken liver skewers, and steamed eel. My companion ordered eel on rice. Since it was late afternoon, the restaurant was not crowded, and the food was delicious, so I was satisfied. I will definitely go back again!

After a meeting with colleagues, I went to eat eel. When it comes to eel restaurants in Fukuoka, "Yoshizuka Unagi" is well-known, but this place is also a long-established eel restaurant. I have been eating eel from this place since I was a child. This time, I tried this branch for the first time. I had the "Steamed Eel [Special]" and "Liver Skewers" for lunch, and indulged myself. The eel was tender and delicious. The liver skewers were sprinkled with sansho pepper. It would have been perfect with beer, but since it was lunchtime, I had to go without it. Next time, I will go at night and have beer with the liver skewers. Thank you for the meal.

This day, I really wanted to eat eel, so after finishing the morning meeting, I went to "Yanagawa-ya" with some work colleagues. I couldn't decide between "unaju" and "steamed eel", and how many pieces of eel to order. In the end, I chose the "steamed eel". The food arrived in about 15 minutes. When I opened the lid, the smell of the steamed eel was so good. Ah, it was the best! The eel and rice were delicious!

This is a review of the eel restaurant "Yanagawa-ya" in Gofukumachi, located at the intersection of Kuramotocho. Their steamed eel is famous, but this time I tried the eel bowl. I felt like having steamed eel for Sunday lunch, so I went to this place that I had seen before. The interior was quite small compared to the exterior. They offered steamed eel in bamboo baskets for 2200 yen, 3300 yen, and 4400 yen, so I decided to try the special one. The kitchen emitted a delicious smell of grilled eel. It's been a while since I visited Yanagawa-ya♪ It's quite expensive so I don't come often, but since I was here, I ordered the "hitsumabushi" special (^^; It's quite luxurious to have it during the day for 4000 yen (sweat), but it was delicious (laughs). You can eat it as it is, pour the broth over it, or pour the sauce and broth over it (laughs). Since it's a special, there's a lot of eel in it, so you can enjoy it in various ways (^^)d My friend ordered the steamed special, which also looked delicious♪ I wonder what I should eat next time (^ー^)

I went to dinner with a business partner and we ordered the steamed eel (3,000 yen). Eel is always expensive, but this steamed eel was not too sweet and very delicious. The eel today was thick and tender, a real treat. The steamed dish was piping hot, perfect for the cold weather. Eating steamed eel while huffing and puffing is the best. The portion size was just right for two gentlemen. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.

I went to eat eel for the first time in a while. The restaurant has raised its prices due to the high cost of eel, but it's understandable since the cost has tripled. Until I left Fukuoka, I thought that eel steamed on a bamboo basket was something that could be found anywhere. But no matter where I went, I couldn't find this way of eating. It turns out that it's a unique way of eating in Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture! The distinctive feature of steamed eel is that the sauce is evenly soaked into the rice from the beginning, and on top of that, there is grilled eel and shredded omelette. It's steamed, so it's hot and the sweet and savory sauce has soaked well throughout. I've loved the rice soaked in this sauce since I was a child! Even just the rice is delicious (laughs). However, since steamed eel is quite expensive, I didn't have many opportunities to eat it, but the deliciousness is still vividly remembered. It must have been decades since I last had steamed eel. I enjoyed it nostalgically!

I didn't realize there was a Yanagawa-ya here too! I've been to a different branch before but I don't remember it at all, so let's go in and try it out. The menu had dishes ranging from cheap to expensive, so I decided to order the mid-range steamed eel dish for about 4000 yen. After waiting for 15 minutes, the eel arrived! Let's dig in! Oh, wait, what? It tastes muddy and the flesh is mushy. Oh no, what a disappointment. I was hoping for something better. Oh well, thanks for the meal.

I had eel for lunch. I wasn't a big fan of eel in the past, but I started to enjoy it more after I turned 30. Maybe when I was younger, it was too expensive for me to consider eating it. This is one of the several branches of the restaurant I visited. The main branch seems to be in Nakasu. I expected to have an eel bowl, but I found out that their steamed eel is also a specialty. It was my second time trying steamed eel in my life. As expected, it was served piping hot. As someone with a sensitive tongue, I struggled a bit, but the eel... it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had the Hakata Hitsumabushi (regular, 4,120 yen) and my friend had the Seiro (special, 5,400 yen). Both were delicious and we enjoyed them in silence. The basic style is Kansai-style grilled eel without steaming. The Seiro version is steamed. We arrived at 12:05 and by 12:15 the restaurant was full and turning people away. We were lucky to get a table.

Today, I was feeling tired so I came to Yanagawa-ya because I was craving eel. I ordered a Kimoto beer first. When it arrived and I started eating, it was delicious. It was my first time at Yanagawa-ya. I usually go to Yoshizuka Unagi for eel, but Yanagawa-ya is also delicious. I decided to go with the eel on rice steamed in a bamboo basket. I ordered both the regular and the large size. The eel that came out was exquisite. I realized that I need to eat eel at least once a month to stay energized.
